May 1 2009Gwen Stefani as you remember her
Gwen Stefani returned to her roots and performed with No Doubt this morning on The Today Show. Man, these bring back memories of my youth, and each one ends exactly the same: Me getting smacked with a Bible because no one knew how to knock in my family. Which reminds me, guess who's not blind, suckers!

These guys put on an amazing live show. High energy and not all snobby and better than the crowd, if u know what I mean.

I have been waiting for this for years! I first heard them when I was 15 and I have been hooked ever since. Gwen is great as a solo artist, but No Doubt feels like home. Love them!!

The implication is that his family was fundamentalist Christian, his family was against masturbating, he was caught masturbating, and so someone in his family punished him by hitting him with a Bible. The humor is supposed to come from the whimsical absurdity of the implication.

Ah, blind...masturbating. wow im slow.

I remember seeing them in '91 and '92 many times at Old World and the Ice House, which was pre platinum blond days. They were always kick ass, I wish they would do some of that really old shit. Like Trapped In A Box. It was a different and harder style than even their most recent music. Good stuff. Good to see them back.
15. azzman - May 1, 2009 2:54 PM
word. i still wanna have hot sex with her.
16. Hugh Jorgen - May 1, 2009 2:55 PM

awww..you poor little wigger. Dont get your corn rows in a tussy shanaynay...I know your mad because your parents named you something afrocentric to compensate for their white guilt...but anger in life will get you nowhere...just asked your namesake where shes at right now. Go ahead, you can ask her through the drive-thru window.

Why isn't she wearing her wedding ring?
26. Cash - May 1, 2009 4:09 PM
I miss their old stuff. Their self titled debut album was the best, back when Gwen was a brunette and still had punk cred. It all went downhill after Tragic Kingdom.

I agee with you and think their first album was the best too. Gwen wrote her best music while suffering from a broken heart after the bass player broke up with her. I also think it is great that she is happy with her body and never got breast implants.
31. Aurealous - May 1, 2009 5:08 PM
I guess even racist asshats like #16/#23 have opinions. Who would have thought it? I assumed people like him were too busy impregnating relatives! Douche bucket, next time, you only have to hit the "post" button once! I realize computers are probably a new technology to you. What a butt-puppet!
32. Vince Lombardi - May 1, 2009 5:32 PM
If you are going to go back on the road because you love the high energy of the crowd, perhaps the first song you play should be a little more up tempo that "Don't Speak" so that the crowd really gets on their feet. A ballad never seems to cut it when you're trying to pump someone up.
I love No Doubt's music, but this was slooooowwwww.
33. testington - May 1, 2009 5:36 PM
so excited for the show! I got floor seats!!!
#14 - really? I always hated the early early stuff

The songs about her break up with the bassist and it works for me!
36. Vince Lombardi - May 1, 2009 6:24 PM
@35. Really??? Gosh, I didn't know that. See, I only mentioned that I love No Doubt's music, so that probably means I don't know a fucking thing about the songs or their origins.
Since you didn't read my first post, I'll try to make easier for you to understand: I commented on the tempo of the song. "Just A Girl" would have been a perfect HIGH ENERGY opening. If each of your four band mate is going to tell the talking heads of TV FOUR times that you love the crowd energy, then play something that's going to blow them up, not soothe them. I love "Don't Speak," also, but it's a ballad and goes directly in the face of what you just made comment on - that you love the crowd energy.
37. JJ - May 1, 2009 6:39 PM
Gwen's gorgeous!
38. Jim - May 1, 2009 6:40 PM
#12, #13 You think she looks like a dude huh? Well if thats what dudes look like then I have had it wrong for a while now. I wonder what YOU look like, are you a little sexually confused and thats why you make comments like that ??
39. Buddy Love - May 1, 2009 6:43 PM
Am I the only one who hates No Doubt's ska bullshit and does not find Gwen Stefani attractive, a role model, or talented in any way? She's got a cleft chin, no tits, no curves and her voice is annoying as hell.
40. samburinya - May 1, 2009 7:33 PM
Nice blonde...
41. britneyisstillfat - May 1, 2009 7:45 PM
#39 I guess we are the only two who agree. Gwen is really not that pretty.. She looks a little chub in that outfit. This "performance" was ghastly bad. I couldn't even get through it. Who the fuck idolizes this phony dumb whore?
42. Yank and wank they rhyme for a reason - May 1, 2009 7:52 PM
can't stand her voice it's so banal and unspecial.
43. gracie - May 1, 2009 7:58 PM
i remember being a 6th grader and being bullied because i listened to no doubt. man i hated grade school.
44. lady punkass - May 1, 2009 8:34 PM
maybe she should have reunited with eve instead, or done a track with sisqo.

Nice FAIL idiot.
Impregnating relatives? computers new technology?
Actually, impregnating YOUR relatives and using a Mac Pro Quad Core...so move along kid, nothing to talk about that you understand here. White Guilt redemption is on another site.
47. Minnesota Entertainers - May 2, 2009 12:17 AM
Definitely hope No Doubt gets back together, their songs were freakin catchy.
48. gerard vandenberg - May 2, 2009 1:01 AM

49. Gwen is fug - May 2, 2009 2:28 AM
Yuck. Keep this shit at home, Gavin.
50. Jenna - May 2, 2009 4:45 AM
The music seems to be lacking some of it's... edge. I know it's a morning show, but common. Anyway, I love this song, and can't wait to catch a No Doubt show, so long as it's not an arena tour.
But also, was it really necessary to bring back the 90's clothing/hair? Can't No Doubt be themselves without looking ridiculous?
51. Alex - May 2, 2009 5:40 AM
Yeah she really cares about her OC No Doubt roots... cause, you know, her fashion line LAMB has $400 dollar shirts that all those fans can afford. Please, just another narcissistic celeb who is willing to exploit anything and everything she can for attention and money.
52. Charley Kane - May 2, 2009 6:47 AM
To masturbate to Gwen Steffani you'd have to be blind to begin with.
53. mikeock - May 2, 2009 8:44 AM
I imagine all the gay dudes who bought No Doubt CD's were getting hard over this, but c'mon ... that era ended when Gwen started shooting out kids like a fucking PEZ dispenser.
54. titsonsnack - May 2, 2009 9:29 AM
I donno she looks pretty dykey here.

Nice comeback! And everything appears to be spelled correctly. (It should be. It mostly came from my post). I take it all back. You're not a racist assCLOWN. My bad. Oh and although they may be in your world, not everyone in the real world is white, really!

Flat chested women should build a shrine for Gwen Stefani. She made flat chested chicks hot again...until she got a boob job.
60. Roger - May 4, 2009 8:14 AM
Always hated them, always will. Can't stand her half-crying-singing style (you know what I mean, just listen to "Don't Speak")
61. Anonymous - May 4, 2009 8:53 AM
This chick is brutally ugly and No Doubt's music is pure garbage. No more, please.

Wow! Um..... I hope they're gonna be doing some more rehearsals before they actually charge people to endure this assault on their aural faculties... and get Gwen fucking Stefani a vocal coach. Amazing how they managed to get the song in slo-mo AND completely fucking off-key.
