Apr 7 2008Charlton Heston: You can take my guns now

0407_charlton_heston_rip_00.JPG

Legendary actor Charlton Heston passed away Saturday evening at the age of 84. He had been battling Alzheimer's disease for the past six years, according to the AP:

"Charlton Heston was seen by the world as larger than life," Heston's family said in a statement. "We knew him as an adoring husband, a kind and devoted father, and a gentle grandfather with an infectious sense of humor. He served these far greater roles with tremendous faith, courage and dignity."
The actor died at his home in Beverly Hills with his wife, Lydia, at his side, family spokesman Bill Powers said. He declined to comment on the cause of death or provide further details Sunday.

I like to believe somewhere in the hereafter Charlton Heston is doing what he loves best: Hunting damn, dirty apes with an Uzi. Rest in Peace, Moses. You were one of the greats.

Twenty-one gun salute after the jump. Or maybe just a trailer mash-up of The Ten Commandments if you want to get technical.

Good riddance.

Moses! Moses!

Gonna miss you, big guy.

Kathleen? You clearly have no life.

Although it has always been hard for me to sit through his movies, I always did have respect for him. It's a pity he died, but at least he lived a full life. His time came. It's like only Liz Taylor is left now out of the clan of the olden days.

r.i.p

Soylent green is still people!!!! They didn't change the recipe like they said they were going to!!! It's still people!!!!!

Soylent Green is still people!!!! They didn't change the recipe like they said they were going to!!! It's still people!!!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ahahahahahahahahaahahahahhahahahahahah wow i did really laugh about that hard at that headline. Awesome... see ya Hestie old boy.

He's hot. was hot. When he was alive. And young.

in before anti-gun retards try to make themselves sound big and important by mocking his death.

Too late. The anti-gun freaks are already here. They won't ever mention how he was one of the few in Hollywood who dared to march next to MLK. To them, he will always be the racist old gun nut.

Hello anti-gun retards, Charlton Heston did more for civil rights (zomg other than firearms!) than you could ever hope to accomplish.

what anti gun nuts are you talking to other than the i guess first person... maybe. maybe she didnt like his acting or something. i just thought the headline was a pretty good. As far as the actual death, sad i guess. I only say I guess because it really won't have an effect on my life or anything. But Hopefully everyones doing well thats his family and friends. He was quite old. Obviously lived a really long and fruitful life. Had Alzhimers, it was time. death is a lot better than alzhimers. No one wants to live like that. But yeah all in all its sad just like any death aside from... like Hitler and the like.

is it wrong that I see him in those old films and consider touching myself? It feels so sacrilegious, and yet, I still want to do it.

One fewer creepy gun nut to worry about. I guess we're just lucky he didn't shoot up his family as he sunk further into dementia. He has a lot of blood on his hands.

#9...if he'd stuck to acting maybe he wouldn't be remembered for being a gun wielding psycho!

Deaths are always sad. People who die young: sadder. People who die at age 84 while suffering from Alzheimers... Slightly less sad.

And even though he marched alongside Marten Luther King and even called for public support for President Johnson's Gun Control Act of 1968, I think that in later life his influence on American society through his work with the NRA has been detrimental to the US. Especially when viewed from the outside.

That was funny than shit Fish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If America hates Hitler so much, why did we make him so powerful? Well, ya'll retards need to read up on that one.
Fuck Heston, he was JUST an actor and NOTHING more. A big guy with a handsome face and body (for the time).

Good riddance to another crazy rich asshole.

dear superficial author,

if you're calling Cheston 'one of the greats' you obviously haven't seen 'bowling for columbine'. Cheston is a sick fuck, and i wish i could have shot him myself.

All and all, he probably did more harm than good during his time on earth.

fuck him.

Bowling for Columbine? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. You, my friend, are what the KGB would call a "useful idiot."
Micheal Moore is an commie propagandist, who serves up warm steaming bowl of his own shit and calls it journalism. Of course it is lapped up by vapid idiots, first year liberal arts majors, and others who fancy themselves intellectuals.

Please love me, Europe! I'm like you, France! America is dumb! Buy my movies! Charlton Heston is responsible for that mother leaving her child in a crackhouse! Minorities can't be held responsible for their actions! All their problems come from rich white people! Except me and Sean Penn, we know what's best for them.

best trailer i have seen , that almost made me wanna wanna watch that movie, but alas , !! NO!!!!!

What do americans actually DO with guns, there can't be that many gun battles in and around the home?

Charlton Heston was a mans man. Not the pussy pants, democratic metrosexual fags of today. He is a dying breed . He will be missed

In honor of Mr. Heston's passing, I propose that we declare today "No Comments By Damn Dirty Apes Day" on the Superfish (so: bye, bye, n i g g e r s).

#21-couldn't have said it better myself!

I hope they use his disease ridden corpse for target practice. He can pry my nuts out of his cold dead mouth.

Sam Adams, so that wasn't footage of Heston in Bowling for Columbine? Interesting.

Check out this footage of Heston shooting dogs. http://www.blogdar.com/ugotnegams/

Charlton Heston is too conservative. George Clooney is too liberal. Jennifer Love Hewitt is too fat. Kate Bosworth is too thin.

This is what happens when you post comments from a group of anonymous bitter nobodies.

Wow, I'm amazed at the vitriolic hatred towards this man and am comforted by the humanity of others. CH was a great man.

My guns sits on my night stand and in my car waiting for some "victim of the mean-bad-society-in-which-he/she-lives-in" trying take what isn't theirs. And, CH helped me keep that CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to fuck them up should they want to infringe on my right to protect my property and life.

Wow, all these comments and just one Soylent Green joke? Well played Mondo.. RIP Chuck.

#32 - Isn't it great to live in fear? Here's a thought: move to a town with a lower crime rate. Your fellow "law abiding" gun owners are the ones selling their legally obtained firearms to those same criminals, you quack. There aren't any gun factories in poor neighborhoods.....

What's best is, whenever some Holywierd type turns out to be a left wing nut, he or she gets told that espousing their political views is inappropriate. But when it's on the red side, it's not only ok, but necessary and revered. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight.....

Charlton Heston was a good man, a decent actor, and an amazing activist for things that he believed in.

and @22, that was hilarious.
And yes, soylent green is people!

#21 & 22 - Can I take both of you out for drinks?

RIP Charlton.
Great actor, will be missed =(

Right on #21.

RIP.

Great example of a man in this current world of pussies....

.

I spontaniously shouted "YES!" when i read it.

Funny headline.

The Spammy of the Day goes to #40 Lucia! Way to tie homosexuality, the recent passing of hollywood legend, and internet fraud together. "Too soon?" Not for you Lucia, way to keep on spamming!

Lucia couldn't make it tonight, but sent a prepared statement. She wants to thank Charlton Heston, the Academy, Dramanine (couldn't have made it across the ocean in that tanker hold without you.) and her slave sponsor. She get a full hour outside of the basement today and an extra egg roll. Congratulations Lucia!

Great actor. Terrible lobbyist. but a dead man now, so let him rest in peace. Shall we remember the Hollywood legend, not the notorious gunslinger's wet dream he became later on. And to all youoh-so-manly-right-wing-rednecks here: a gun won't make you 'real men', sorry. A brain could do that. Or balls. Both of which you lack. A man's man, cookiepuss? Well, that's what Rock Hudson was, too. But just like you, he was ashamed to tell the world about it.

Yesterday, i just learned that Heston died [ Sunday ]. While he was dying Saturday evening, i was watching The Ten Commandments. Wow.

"Charlton Heston was a mans man. Not the pussy pants, democratic metrosexual fags of today."

So true. To each and every one of you who dislikes the man: *FUCK YOU* and *DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL*. I don't recall Heston's career being an unending series of pitiful, attention seeking 'scandals', unlike the usual parade of fuck-meat 'celebrities' the kids admire now. The man loved his family and backed up his shit... if he loved guns as well, that's fuckin' fine with me. Fare thee well, Charlton Heston. My deepest sympathies go out to his friends/family.

I don't want a gun, but I don't want government do-gooders telling people they can't have guns. What's so hard to understand about that? Heston was a great actor - see The Buccaneer with the great Yul Brenner, excellent. He did a movie back in the 50s called The Naked Jungle that was based on the greatest short-story of all time "Lennigan vs. The Ants" - great stuff. I'm kinda glad he pissed off the anti-gun nuts, serves 'em right for being against the Bill of Rights.

You anti guns nuts, let see what they say when you die. Just remember, next time some crazed nut walks across campus, blowing away people (and you think the police are going to send out a message for you to stay in your dorm????), wouldn't be nice to exercise your right as a citizen of the US and blow the ahole way?

honestly.

he wasn't that great an actor.

#47 - You obviously hate America.

He was a good actor, but he also happened to be smokin' hot when he was a young man. Whenever I see a movie based on the bible his portrayal of Moses is what I compare all others to. I don't know much about the NRA, although I've heard of them and know he worked with them, but any white guy who marched with Martin Luther King, when it would have been easier to stay at home and smoke a stogie, is alright by me.

To #37...LAW ABIDING gun owners DO NOT sell their firearms to anyone for any amount of money. You say to move to a neighborhood with a lower crime rate? Research shows that the communities with stricter gun control have higher crime rates than those communities that allow the law abiding private individual to possess a firearm.

You want to know what law abiding gun owners do with their firearms? Some collect them. Some go sport shooting (clay pigeons, target practice, shooting tournaments). Others, such as myself, use them to hunt. And some want them solely for protection.

And to all of you that cannot or will not refrain from attacking Charlton Hesston because you do not like his views, why don't you grow up? You, in my opinion, are no better than Fred Phelps that goes around protesting the funerals of gays and soldiers because he has nothing better to do with his life than try to force his views down everyone else's throats.

Why don't you all just show this man the respect you would like to have when you die?

To #1.
He stood up for the constitution. That's that. He believed in the constitution. A living document to our democracy. If you don't understand that you seriously need to move. To say "good riddance" is one of the most ignorant statements I've ever read on the superficial by another poster. Kathleen you sir are an ASSHOLE!

To #43.
How is a gun lobbyist any different from an environmentalist lobbyist? Both are pushing our legislatures to do what's in the best interest of their cause, but you know what? My quality-of-life has not being penalized because of the NRA! It's the environmentalists who have taken away more of my freedoms! So fuck that shit, the NRA lobbies to allow citizens to have the rights to stay armed for the very reason the environmentalists try to stop the progress of our country. Liberals take peoples rights away! Liberals thrawt a capitalist society, and prompt socialist values, you take my gun away, I am unarmed to defend myself from a bad guy or bad government. LEARN SOMETHING IDIOT.

Never realized how bad a hairpiece he had. Unflattering final picture for a great actor.

LOL America...look at our priorities. People like him b/c he is a good actor and was "hot," and don't know anything about him being one of the most powerful men for pro-gun laws.

A gun is far more likely to be used in a suicide, homicide, or unintentional shooting than to kill a criminal. Using federal government figures, for every time a citizen used a firearm in a justifiable homicide, 185 lives were ended in firearm homicides, suicides, and unintentional shootings.

homicide is the leading cause of death among African-Americans 15 to 24 years of age—nearly nine out of 10 victims (88 percent) were shot and killed with firearms.

This will be seen with cynicism to most of you. Don't let gun companies scare you and seduce you. They are a multi-billion dollar industry and they don't want you to take that away from them and will do anything to stop us from reaching the truth.

i just LOOOOOOOOOVE HIS EYEBROWS. yum. i'm letting mine grow out now!

#50 - So..... those guns just end up in criminals hands because of.....? I mean someone had to buy them legally and transfer them illegally. I haven't heard of truckloads of gun shipments being hijacked. Let me guess, all the illegal guns are stolen out of the cars of law abiding citizens, right? Which of course means that you walk around unarmed while at WalMart? That's pretty unAmerican if you ask me, sort of like a chick letting a dude come inside her but drinking like a fish anyway, even though she knows she could be destroying potential life! Ok, fine, they have nothing to do with one another other than the fact that both are idiotic things to do. Like getting into a 2nd amendment argument on a celeb bashing website, voting for Romney, or licking razor blades with rubbing alcohol chasers. Or paying $4K an hour for a chick who..... nevermind.....

I love how all the closet homosexuals (rebublicans) talk all about guns and killing as though that is the mark of being a tough guy and all that degenerate nonsense. Hey why don't you queers, since you are inable to help the intelligent people clean up the dirty litter box we have made of the planet, go volunteer to fight some fun made up wars against yourselves and leave the unarmed women and children alone.
Yeah it takes the few and the proud to pump themselves up with weights and wear cool uniforms and utilize the world's most advanced arsenal of militray hardware and the invade some comparably smaller nation with inferior technology and smaller numbers of soldiers. Tough guy shit.
Why don't you pussys just go bar room fight or buy a new Playstation and practice sports that way?
Asshole undereducated idiots.

Fucking progressives. Ruthlessly imposing their will on others under the guise of "we know whats best for everybody." Promoting tolerance while screaming obcenities at anyone who differs from them.

Ooh, it the corporations, man! They like, make stuff and sell it for money! Capitalism is like bad and stuff. They are growing rich off the blood of the african americans ages 15-24. We should like, ban guns and then that will stop the violence. Remember when they banned drugs? Just like that. You can't get drugs anywere now. Then nobody will ever be hurt again.
All that stuff that people do that is bad, like, should be regulated against. We need to protect people from making bad choices by removing all choice and freedom. Only through strict govenrment regulation and control can people ever be free. I know The Truth because I saw a Micheal Moore movie and read some stuff on the internet. If you disagree with me, you're just asleep to The Truth.

Farewell to Carlton. He seems to have made a lot of wise choices during his life, except maybe getting involved with the NRA, which obviously raised the controversy.

If no one were allowed to own guns, then the streets would definitely be much safer.

Gentlemen! We must increase our sales! We are ahead of Big Club, but behind Big Gun. Did you know knive only kill 10% of African american between 15-24? Our lobbyists for Big Knife in England got guns outlawed, and knifings have increased tenfold! You can't walk down the street in Manchester without getting stabbed by some chav. We need that here in America! Then we can all smoke big cigars and wear top hats and monacles and as we grow righ off the blood of the commoners!

If Michael Moore hadn't reminded everyone that this old guy was even still alive would this even be a topic of convesation today? I think not.

Omega man is one of the coolest movies ever. Period. RIP king of kings.

"If Michael Moore hadn't reminded everyone that this old guy was even still alive would this even be a topic of convesation today? I think not."

Who's Michael Moore? So much for your argument.

1) He WASN'T a "great actor." He had no range whatsoever. The only people who loved him were the tiny-dicked losers with daddy issues.

2) There's nothing more pathetic than the gun psychos. This country is swimming with guns, and they're constantly acting like we're about to experience a gun famine. Every other major issue involves some type of true crisis that's demonstrably underway and reaching point-of-no-return status. Stop distracting this country from the real work it needs to do NOW.

It looks like he is turning into the Incredible Hulk. Why is he green? Guns kill people.

CH was awesome. RIP. There was a campus alert last week because of a handwritten note that was left at a place where students stay off campus. I got an email and text telling me to get in my dorm, get off campus, or stay in a building as soon as I could. I chose to go to my car because that's where my .45 is. If there's going to be a shooter on my campus, the safest place I could be is anywhere where my handgun is. That motherfucker isn't going to go on a shooting on any campus if he knows the minute he pulls his gun out he'll be dropped before he can look into his sight. Thank God for the ability to defend oneself. I just hope it stays this way. There obviously aren't enough responsible people carrying weapons nowadays. If I could have a concealed weapon I would, but it's against the law and I try to obey the law. The crazy-ass shooters on campuses and worksites aren't following ANY rules. Think people. Think.

#65... Saying guns kill people is like saying spatula's make brownies... people kill people.

Sam Adams....Stop taking penis in the ear and maybe your head will clear up. P.S. I f*cked your mom the other day.

Thank you for proving my point.
Also,
"U" is the letter you are missing. There's supposed to be a "u" between the f and the ck. It makes you look more badass when you don't edit out your own posts.

Well Sam Adams, you make a fucking hell of a beer, but a piss poor arguement.

And the campus shooters have all gotten their guns legally. Think #66. Think...

We have strict gun control laws in my nation. So I cannot either steal my parent's arms nor purchase a handgun to shoot at my fellow students. We are falling way behind the United States in high school and collegiate violence. Actually I am ashamed to say we have none. This planet continues to be more intertwined economically and via instant communications, yet I cannot mow down the cheerleading squad. Think people.

alzhiemers patients with guns make the tastiest soilent green. its people, you know...

24. "What do americans actually DO with guns, there can't be that many gun battles in and around the home?"

My 20-gauge is used for bird hunting. My 12-gauge is for targets and home defense. My .223 is for targets and varmints. My .45 is for targets and personal defense. None have been used in a crime, all were purchased legally, and all are used responsibly and without a single injury.

I don't ask you about the extent of your collection of cat sculptures, the value of your vintage prints of cracks in a sidewalk, or how many pairs of trendy reading glasses you own, so what does it matter if I legally own a few firearms?

i am still a democrat.
i used a gun to shoot a coyote, who ate my puppy and didnt run away when i brandished a rake at it.
one would be surprised at what you need a gun for when you live on 180 acres 10 miles from the nearest town.
micheal moore uses sensationalist journalism to turn valid political points into a profit.
i left my trendy glasses in chicago on a bus.

Guns don't kill people. Inner city thugs with unlicensed guns do.

yeah I think the witless cowards need a little education. Exportation of murder in the name of the almighty $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Let's hurt the weak and take what is not ours!!!! In the name of the almighty $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Let's call those who want to save the Earth liberals, let's mock the democrats, let's invade Iran.
We just don't know how to run the economy cuz all we got is WAR!!!!

You guys are ALL fucking retards. I was BFC and he didn't seem crazy at all. The man has a right to have guns and he did. So fuck you all. Have son respect for the dead.

You guys are ALL fucking retards. I was BFC and he didn't seem crazy at all. The man has a right to have guns and he did. So fuck you all. Have some respect for the dead.

#78...Hitler's dead, do you respect him? Nazi lover.

He always played these bigger than life characters in films during the 50s (Moses, El Cid, Ben-Hur, etc) because he had such great stage presence, plus then again in the late sixties through the early seventies his career had a resurgence with the same kind of swagger in such great sci-fi films like Planet of the Apes, Omega Man and Soylent Green. As with any other actor, his political views were of no importance to me, but his contributions as an actor were significant in films of which many are now and will forever be considered Classics....

#79 - Yes. Yes I do

Great actor. Great man. Great husband. Great for freedom.

Who ever heard of a famous actor who stayed married to the same woman since he was 19?

Unlike today's phonies who repeat the words of the latest "in" cause among the Hollywood elite, he supported causes that took real courage -- marching for civil rights when it could hurt his box office in the south (not too mention get his head busted) or leading the NRA when everyone else in Hollywood wanted to ban guns (except for those in the hands of their bodyguards -- stinkin' hypocrites). All you gun grabbers should look at England -- they took away all the legal guns and amazingly gun crimes have skyrocketed. Fortunately, in America we have people like Heston.

He was the biggest star at the box office for many years, yet he managed to treat the fans decently (not an easy task). And he managed to be friends with pretty much everyone in Hollywood -- political differences were irrelevant.

Finally, the so not a conservative movie critic Rex Reed ripped Michel Moore a new one for his disgraceful treatment of Heston. Besides Moore's usual cut and paste interview style, he was taking advantage of a man who was in the early stages of Alzheimer's. Heston was a class act unafraid to be interviewed by anyone. And Moore took advantage of that in his quest for bucks.

Heston will be missed.

#70.... wow. The campus shooters, mall shooters, workplace shooters... all of them are lumped into one category to me. They are all crazy. Remember the Von Maur shooter a few months back? He was around 17 and I didn't think it was legal to have fully automatic weapons at that age? Maybe I'm mistaken tho... Think "Elliot_Spitz_On_Her"... Think. Let me know if I'm mistaken.

I really dislike having an intelligent discussion with a bunch of unarmed idiots. I try to make a point without name calling like a two year old, and all you gun hating, CH bashing idiots can do is start calling us queers and pussies and blaming YOUR problems on someone else.

Take responsibility and stop hiding behind the anonymity of the internet. Check your facts before you go throwing numbers around.

How many gang-bangers and convicted felons would give up their illegal firearms if the left-wing liberal tree huggers were to strip us of our 2nd Ammendment rights? The only ones that would lose their firearms are the law abiding people that purchased their firearms legally.

HE WAS A GREAT ACTOR UNLIKE THE PUSSY CELEBS TODAY. I DID NOT BELIEVE IN HIS STANCE CONCERNING THE NRA. I SURE AS HELL DUE NOW. I WANT A GUN IN EVERY ROOM IN MY HOUSE, MY CAR, MY PURSE. YOU DIE HARD DUMBASS LIBERALS WILL FIND SOME THUG WITH A GUN UP YOUR ASS SOMEDAY AND WISH YOU HAD THANKED THIS MAN FOR HELPING WITH THE RIGHT TO CARRY A GUN.

The man stood up for freedom when it was unpopular. He marched with MLK, and was scorned and threatened for it. He stood up for the right of the weak to not fear the strong, the few not fear the many, the young not fear the old, the minority not to fear the majority, by standing for the right of the common man to defend his life and freedom with the most effective tool possible.
He did what he knew was right, and didn't give a damn for the little people that mocked him.

i wonder if the pink guns homos like him? i bet they jerk off to those movies where he's wearing those loin clothes. i know the limp wristed metrofags don't like him

dONT FUK WITH THE OMEGA MAn!

The "inner city thugs" and "gangbangers" arguements are shallow at best, as they account for a small portion of the over 10,000 handgun deaths annually in the United States. Now we all know that poor people are adept at building firearms factories, as well as mining the ore that eventually becomes the steel and bullets, as well as fabricating the thermoplastic for Glocks and such. We also know that noone ever bought a handgun from a "trade show" that wasn't legally allowed to own one. We also know that unicorns and the Yeti exist in a transcendental plane only viewable through 3D glasses and that Cocoa Puffs are a conspiracy against white children perpetrated by minorities and that Charelton Heston didn't just play Moses, he was Moses. Finally, we are one hundred percent certain that the 2nd amendment sanctified the ability of militias to keep and bear arms, and that the word "individual" appears exactly zero times in the text. And anyone who "hunts" with a .45 is an undeniable pussy.

Last Sunday, I heard about the death of my favorite actor Charlton Heston and I was very aggrieved.
As a big fan, I' ve admired him since many years, although I always prefered his acting skills to his political views. Thank to his roles as Juda Ben Hur, Moses in "The Ten Commandments" or Rodrigues in "El Cid", he became one of the most notable actors of the world.
He will always be on my mind.
I offer my condolence to his family and his friends and wish them the needed comfort.

I just love to see all the fine member of the party of "Tolerance & Diversity" show up here and show themselvess to be intolerant idiots. Hypocrisy at its best.

RIP Charton. You were a great men.

I despise the left and everything that it stands for. So did Charlton Heston. He was a good man, and a good actor. He will be missed.

For all your liberal scumbags on here: read this. http://mizai.tripod.com/ This is a speech he gave in 1999 which absolutely destroys the anti-gun lobby and the politically correct crowd. If you are one of these two crowds, you ought to be utterly ashamed of yourself. It's time for us as a society to buy liberalism in an unmarked grave once and for all, never to rise again.

#73, I didn't mean to be rude, I was just curious (we have completely different gun laws in the UK)

I completely understand the attraction of hunting and target shooting, but the idea of a loaded gun in a home just makes me feel uneasy.

The photo they posted of Chuck says it all - they hated the man.

RIP Chuck and thank you for standing up for civil rights, the second amendment and never backing down from the haters.

We'll miss you Chuck. You were passionate about things that were important not only to you, but to the rest of us as well.
We've lost a great champion and the Bill of Rights will miss you.
You were a great patriot.
This shouldn't be about guns as much as it should be about the infringement of civil liberties by the people who are supposed to protect them.

Cherry,
"I completely understand the need for background checks, but the idea of living in a place that requires me to be defenseless just makes me feel uneasy."

If the second amendment falls, the rest will soon follow, then we can call ourselves The Fascist States of America

Thank GOD for Conservative Supreme Court Justices.

I love my 1st amendment rights, but hate Nazi flag burners. But I'm not out there trying to repeal the 1st amendment...

TOP ELEVEN SIGNS THAT YOU ARE A LIBERAL:
1.You believe that guns in the hands of law-abiding Americans are more of a threat than nuclear weapons in the hands of the Red Chinese.
2.You have to believe that the AIDS virus is spread by a lack of funding.
3.You have to be against capital punishment but for abortion on demand-in short, you support protecting the guilty and killing the innocent.
4.You have to believe that all trial lawyers are selfless heroes and all doctors are overpaid.
5.You have to believe that global temperatures are less affected by cyclical, documented charges in climate, than by yuppies driving SUVs.
6.You have to believe that gender roles is right-wing propaganda, but being gay is natural.
7.You have to believe that businesses create oppression and governments create prosperity.
8.You have to believe that self-esteem is more important than actually doing something to earn it.
9.You have to believe the NRA is bad, because it stands up for certain parts of the Constitution, while the ACLU is good, because it stands up for certain parts of the Constitution.
10.You have to believe that the only reason socialism hasn’t worked anywhere it’s been tried is because the right people haven’t been in charge
11. Gun bans WORK!!!(take a look at washington dc and london)

#89
ask any tyrant.....gun control is a great idea! the King of England didn't like guns either but our founding fathers didn't give him a choice.
Well, they didn't mention abortion either, but here we are, yet murder is still illegal.Hmmmm. It's called interpretation, and the supreme court is interpreting the 2nd amendment as we speak.
You must be a frenchman with that outlook on guns?
Please cite the source of your magical 10,000 annual us deaths. I'd sure like to know where you're getting this info. It isn't real unless you can prove it.
But, you can live in your bubble, where everyone is happy and the burglars and rapists knock before entering your house.
By the way, there is a .45 and .50 cal muzzle loader for hunting and SEVERAL 45 high powered rifle rounds, for big game as well.
You are as shallow as you are ignorant. if there is anything else I can educate you on, please let me know-you seem very stupid.
What other civil rights would you casually forfeit?

Typical liberal mentality...ELLIOT, here is your new mantra, courtesy of your savior:

We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good."
---Senator Hillary Clinton (San Francisco Rolls Out Red Carpet for Clintons, San Francisco Chronicle, June 28, 2004)

..Do you see how I cited that quote, so that you can tell that I didn't just make it up. You should try that when quoting people or citing information.
IDIOT

You can have Hillary, I still miss Charlie Heston.

@9: you're worse than everybody. fuck you, right wing nut!

@51, read a book other than the bible, ignorant cowardly fuck. And fuck the nra!

In 2005 the CDC said that poisoning was the leading cause of death followed by firearms and motor vehicles.

firearm homocides 2005 =12,352
total firearm injuries(suicides, accidents, police shootings etc) 2005 =30,694(also includes the prev homicide #)

Versus

Motor vehicles(all inclusive injuries and deaths) 2005=47,894

guns-30,694 vs cars 47,894

which should you be MORE afraid of?

http://webapp.cdc.gov/sasweb/ncipc/mortrate10_sy.html

so that "...small portion of 10,000 deaths annually" is a much larger portion that you guessed at . Less than 1/2 but more than 1/3 of all firearm homicides annually.

Rest in Peace, Charlie

#99 and #100
Wow I come with facts and you come with swear words.
Thanks for making my point.

I must've hit close to home on that whole "gay" thing?
Anyhow, you sound like you don't need to have a gun in you posession anyhow, what with your pent up rage and apparent anger issues.
Just look at it this way, C Heston stood up for what he beleived in, much like you standing up for your gay rights.
...good for you.
I hope that you get your priorities straight someday and move into the real world...
Stand up for your rights before they are all gone. The REAL crisis in this country is that no one seems to care that civil liberties are dissapearing.
This does apply to you, mr "F@#$ you and F^%# the NRA"
Even a worthless, burden to society like you gets civil rights. Tell all of your greenpeace and PETA buddies that I send my regards.

Comments for the late CH:

Jefferson’s commitment to liberty extended to many areas of individual freedom. In his "Commonplace Book," he copied a passage from Cesare, Marquis of Beccaria related to the issue of gun control. The quote reads, "Laws that forbid the carrying of arms ... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes ... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." He also once stated, "The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.

Chalton Heston on Thomas Jefferson

There is nothing more effective at quieting the left side than statistics and proof. R.I.P.

@ 93

I didn't mean to be rude either, just trying to get some laughs. The UK is a very interesting case in the gun control battle, as the stricter the laws get the more gun crime proliferates.

CH had three levels of movies.
1) Playing Moses, El Cid, Ben-Hur or some other type of messiah in over the top old school Hollywood films.

2) Horrible pseudo sci-fi/action films like Planet of the Apes, The Omega Man, Soylent Green. Talk about Hollywood giving you the boot.

3) Cameo's in Movies like True Lies to make him still look like a badass.

Then he turned into a NRA nut that will probably get me called a commie-lover by everyone with more shotgun shells than teeth. Personally, I loved the "you can take my guns now". Heston may have been a decent actor in films that were also decent and a poor actor in films that were poor. What he did off camera were just publicity stunts. How can anyone who marched with MLK turn into the poster boy for the NRA? He was just an actor making a buck where he could.

i can respect that opinion. more than i can rerspect a person that yells obscenities and hides behind anonymity.
Remove the gunfrom the equationand you have a pretty clear cut and serious case of the government/law makers infringing on our bill of rights.
What'll be next,riightto assemble,freedom to worship?
i is a very real threat to our way of life, and if unchecked will set precedent for other similar laws to osweep across the counttry.
I just can't see where people blame himfor the death of innocents(in previous posts)
If that's the case, the Henry Ford's heirs had better preparerfor lots of class action lawsuits since they have made autos that thousand upon thousands of people get into accidents with every year.
We'll also ban spoons and forks because they contribute to overeating.
Flies cause garbage to smell bad and the list can go on from here.
False logic.

J Jackson has pulled some insane publicity stunts in his career, so has A Sharpton, but people love them.(even after indiscretions)
Al gore is whoring out his version of the earth and global warming, yet people follow him as some sort of messiah. You dont tthink that HE doesit for attention?
Mayor marion barry-where to begin, smoked crack with a hooker, had muliple firearm offenses, recent dui's and unpaid parking tickets-HE IS STILL AN ACTIVE DC COUNCIL MEMBER!!!!
Clinton has an affair in office and gets caught-people love him.

C Heston spends the twilight years of his life devoted to the constitution , second amendment rights FOR ALL AMERICANS and he is labeled a "gun nut" what the hell iis wrong with you people?????????????.
YES, he used his popularity to get things done, so has r reagan, fred thompson, jessie ventura and arnold schwartzenegger. shall I continue?
But, of all of the people that I just mentioned, the most influential person was C Heston.
Give the guy credit-you may not agree witth the politiics of the second amendment, that is your right and you dont have to own a gun. but people like charlton heston hAve made sure that another generation will keep laws from infringing on our civil rights.
when virginia eenacted those super expensive ticketts for in state drivers only-you should've seen how fast people acted to repeal that law. gov Tim kaines head was spinnig fromall of the fallout from va citizens.

"you can have my civil liberties, but DO NOT raise my taxes"

"when you stand up for your rights, you have to stand up for all of them, not just the ones that suit you"

...he did march with MLK because he was a patriot, he believed in civil rights, including the right to bear arms.HE also realizd that MLK wasn't killed by a gun, he was killed by a nut with a gun(james earl ray). there is a difference.
just because you drive a car doesn' make you guilty of vehicular manslaughter or mean that you drive around drunk all of tthe time.
and SHAME on the ACLU for remaining neutral in their stance on the second amendment!!!!
again, that says;"we at the ACLU believe in civil liberties and the bill of rights...except for the second amendment"
bunch of halfwits

The ACLU does stand for civil liberties except those it doesn't agree with, look into it. Want to get technical? The right to bear arms was made by colonialists under British rule how many years ago? The British didn't want insurrection so they wouldn't allow citizens to own firearms or assemble. That is why they became amendments to a government who decided to become sovereign. So that the colonists could stand up to British rule and have a legal stance against them. It also allowed them to fight them. Times have changes greatly since them.

The British still do this in countries where these conflicts still happen, like Ireland. America fought for it's sovereign rights to exist as a country back in the 18th century. The issue is that people still think these rights should still exist. If they did in the original stance, you could only own a gun if you were a white land owning Prodistant, if you firmly believed in this that still be the same? The second amendment did not apply to all Americans when this was made. It was created basically so a militia could be created to fight the British. After the British lost several things changed back like taxes. The new government originally fought British taxation then taxed the crap out of it's citizens to fight a war that made severe debt. This almost turned into a second revolution.

The people who scare me are those who don't read their history and think these rules that were made hundreds of years ago still apply. Do you practice the freedom to assemble? Freedom of the press? Don't twist past laws that were made for a society over two hundred years ago. If you want to be true to those laws, carry a musket for self-defense or whatever. Besides, I don't think the ACLU has ever stated "we at the ACLU believe in civil liberties and the bill of rights...except for the second amendment". Besides, a car isn't built to drive a person down. That is the lamest excuse of that argument and I am tired of people using it. A gun is made to shoot something.

I love this country and respect it's laws. What I am scared of is the beer drinking NRA radicals who act like the government wants to disarm America. That isn't going to happen. If so, it would have already taken place. I love the part in "Bowling for Columbine" where CH talks about how guns are going to be taken from Canadian citizens. More people per capita own guns in Canada than America. Yet they don't have the violence and paranoia that happens with American gun owners. That just proves the propaganda the NRA spews.

"MLK wasn't killed by a gun, he was killed by a nut with a gun". That is called a double-negative, I learned this in grade-school, did you make it that far?

Uh, Ford gave quite a bit of money to the NAZI movement when they started. Think they believed in the 2nd amendment?

While it's true not all conservatives are stupid, it is true that most of the people who are stupid are conservatives. Just my twist on an old quote from the 19th century.

Nice, so by your logic(Beer drinking NRA members)
all islamists are radical fundamentalists and we should pick and choose which of the 10 bill of rights suits us.
WOW, no wonder you disagree with C Hestons views on living in the united states.
Guns CAN kill people so CAN cars, and they both do-don't blow that fact off. Just incase you are illiterats, in a prev post, I cited the CDC as car accidents killing injuring and maiming almost twice as many people per year than all gun accidents.
LEARN TO READ.
You can live in candyland where guns are the greatest threar to life in AMerica but an asshole behind the wheel of an automobile, drunk and doing twice the speedlimit is perfectly fine and of no consequesnce to your life.
You libs and these made up fact( say made up because apparently you make no efferot to research your claims) YOU ARE IGNORANT AND SCARED OF A THREAT THAT YOU PROPAGATE IN YOUR OWN MIND.
Read this article...http://media.www.kaleo.org/media/storage/paper872/news/2007/09/13/News/Survey.U.s.Has.Highest.PerCapita.Gun.Ownership.Rate-2966141.shtml
"WE IN AMERICA(5% of the world population)OWN THE MOST FIREARMS-30-35%!!!!!!!!" No mention of Canada in there.
Perhaps if you look at the fact, and avoid creative liberalism(living in candyland)
you would see that C Heston was right.

Keep prosecuting people that choose to LEGALLY own a firearm. Who are you to tell me, or anyone, that our Bill of Rights is outdated and needs to be changed? I like it just the way it is.
Maybe you should tmove to a more fascist or socialist country?
Canada is not too far, and has gun restrictions to boot!
They may welcome you there?
Bad news for you, though-guns will not go anywhere in the near future, not with the second most powerful lobbyist group in AMERICA fighting for gun rights-THE NRA.
Maybe you should renounce your citizenship.
there is this GREAT new thing called tolerance?
You should try it or-AN OPEN MIND?

Just because we live in the most industrialized country in the world, does not mean that we are safe.
Tyranny and crime don't take vacations.

MOVE TO CANADA! You'll love it there. You can live in a socialist country, pay lots of taxes, wait wait wait top see a doctor and be completely defenseless.

..Oh and by the way, I USE my civil liberties aALL of the time and take an active role in my community.
I protest legislation that affronts me, I just wrote letters to my congressmen and Mayor A Fenty (as well as Cathy Lanier) protesting the ILLEGAL DC gun ban and door to door seizures, I vote at the state local and federal level EVERY TIME! And I say the blessing with my kids before dinner.
When was the last time you did anything but try and have our civil rights removed?

Sounds like the only thing that you exercise is your narrow midset and your mouth. You cannot even come into the argument with FACTS!!!

So, yeah, I exercise ALL of my freedoms-keep your laws off of them!
Just because you dont want them, doesn't mean that others don't.
The nazi party started out the same way...we know how that ended.

I have just given all of the "gun grabbing" liberals 2 pages of facts about guns and gun crimes, yet you still believe that C Heston , the NRA and legal gun ownership is a relic? You TRULY do not appreciate how well you have it here in the states.
My guns have never committed a crime. The majority of Americans can say the same about theirs.
Your stance IS NOT wrong, your facts are.

The title is pretty funny, though.
I think that even he might have chuckled at that one?

Dude, don't have a heart attack. I never said anything about Islam, taking guns away or any rights away. I never said that I was a liberal either. It sounds like you make up propaganda in your own head. It's also the same argument that I hear over and over. The car thing is bullshit. You cannot compare cars to guns anymore than you can compare allergic reactions to airplane crashes. A gun is made for one function, to shoot a projectile (bullet, musket, spoons & forks) into another creature, preferably a person. Those who go to the gun range usually shoot paper targets with drawings of a person on it. Yes some hunt but that isn't the issue.

I do have tolerance. I actually live in a state where it's ok to take a concealed weapon on school campus. The people who scare the crap out of me are those who "jump the gun" and start spewing off stuff that I am not or misguided factoids when this issue comes up. I have been to Canada, it's a beautiful place. I don't want to live there because I was born here and I like it here. I am not trying to take your freedoms away so relax. I have never done anything to remove "my civil rights".

Also, why bring in the socialized medicine thing? That has nothing to do with this. To be honest, I would rather try a medical system like that. The medical system here is a complete joke. I waited a year to have an appendectomy so the medical system could make money off of me. So maybe there is a chance I wouldn't have to wait as long for that if I lived in Canada. Hmm...

Candyland as you say seems more like the place in your head "If I think this way therefore it is". Your argument has changed to the point that you say things like "you disagree with C Hestons views on living in the united states". Is CH talking through you from beyond the grave now? How do you know what his views were on living in the United States? Everything I read about him says he was a humble actor who gives more credit to everyone working on what film he is in than himself. He also supported independent film before he was in the big blockbuster films in the 50's. It's how he got his start. Did you know that?

Honestly, people like you scare the crap out of me. People like you should never own a gun. Also, don't call people "illiterat" when you can't even spell it.

There is no such thing as misguided factoids, only facts that you casually choose to ignore.
...some of the prices you pay for living in a capitalist society...paying for things that people make profits on.
Yes Canada is beautiful, and I enjoy the people, their friendliness and the great outdoors of that counrty.
The us govt spends 44.7% GDP on health care versus the 70% that the Canadians do.Life expectancy is slightly longer there, but infant mortaliy is much lower in Canada than herer in the US. We also have the best trained and schooled Dr's in the world along with the most advanced surgery.
Again, a fantasy to believe that the US governement does not already contribute BILLIONS of dollars per year to the health care system.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_and_American_health_care_systems_compared

You go ahead and "cut your budget" on your health and personal health care, I'll take our expensive and imperfect health care system.
Your opinion on waiting for neccessary operations will, hopefully, change when you have children that need immediate surgery.
You've been watching too many "sensational" M Moore movies if you believe that socialized medecine is better than that here in the US.
Without pharm. companies here in the US, Canada's health care system would be nothing more that a bunch of witch doctors prescribing tinctures and tonics for heart attacks.
Charlton Heston wore his beliefs on his sleeve, in case you missed the point of this blog. His career as an activist FAR overshadowed his acing career.

people like you pave the road to hell with good intentions and good ideas.

There is nothing wrong about passion in life or sticking up for what you love/enjoy. Thats what it takes nowadays to keep people from removing it.
Try and stick to the point thought, there are plenty of other and more dangerous daily activities and "vehicles" with which crimes are perpetrated on a daily basis-not just guns.

I'm glad that my fact and stated points scare you, it means that I'm finally showing you the error of your ways. besides, your argument is weak and half thought. you have shown me no supporting evidence to back up your "claims" as I have for you.
This really isn't a debate, its' just you complaining about people's rights to own guns.

G

Heh. Right now, good ol' Moses is sitting in Hell with Ronald Reagan, both of them trying to figure out what to do with melted jelly beans.

You know, there was recently a defining moment regarding Mr. Heston. That was when Michael Moore (yeah, JJ, I'll save you the trouble of calling him a Communist) confronted him about his possible hypocrisy re gun ownership. You know, in "Bowling for Columbine." Instead of sticking to his guns (pun not intended) and defending his opinions he skulked away and hid. What a hero.

Your factoids don't scare me, you do. You preach like an authoritarian fascist. You act like everyone's opinion is wrong if it doesn't fall in with your's. I am not complaining about an individual's right to own a gun, I just think someone as boneheaded as you shouldn't own one. Anyone can post something, that doesn't mean its gospel so you shouldn't use it that way. That's why I don't do it. I stand by my word without links to wikipedia. You haven't shown me any errors other than you are now using spell check.

You are right that this isn't a debate. You think that if you don't like riding in the back of the bus then get off the bus. That isn't the basis of a debate.

Your screen name says it all "who cares"
You say that I preach like an "authoritarian fascist", but you argue your point with name calling and stereotypes. WEAK!
I'm sorry that you feel overwhelmed by facts and logic. I'll tone it down for you from here on out.
We'll agree to disagree since you just seem to be using my arguments as your own.
I hope you find out exactly what you stand for and decide what you believe in because your past few posts have been rife with mixed messages and contradictions. Still unsure of YOUR convictions-I've made mine evident.
I vote, I protest, I vote, I lobby my elected representatives and go to church-YET you can still call me the fascist?!
Sure, I'm a fascist because I believe in the bil lof rights-ALL OF IT. Even the part that allows you to post your insane rants and call me, and NRA members abroad, names.
People used to call that freedom.
lets not forget that you labeled all NRA members in your first post as " beer swilling rednecks with more shotgun shells than teeth"
If you have tolerance, it must be buried under all of that WONDERFUL personality? How about some racist and anti-semitic remarks to go with that slur?
Check yourself-I already told you previously that your point of view is not wrong, your facts are(or lack thereof)
Fascist is a big word for you. Have fun looking it up.

...And why is it exactly that you don't think that I should be allowed to own guns?
Because i'm outspoken? Believe and defend responsible gun ownership?
Obey the law? Stick up for the second amendment?

I'm sure glad that people like you don't run this country.-but I'M the fascist here, right?
You sound like just the guy for the job over in China...telling people what they can't do. And brushing aside facts that are not convenient for you or your weak argument.
That is a shallow and baseless opinion, but I guess I have to respect it.

See how that works, it's called AMERICA and civil rights. Try it, I bet You'll like it.
No wonder you didn't like Heston, you have no clue as to what he was trying to work for.
...Oh yeah, he did it ALL FOR THE FAME, and parlayed that into a WHOPPER of a successful film career in his last years(are you getting all of this sarcasm-cause I'm laying it on pretty thick).
I cannot continue this conversation with you. Think of what you believe in THEN argue for it, don't just make it up as you go along.YOU HAVE NO CREDIBILITY ON THIS ISSUE. Just a fly on the wall...

.....some people's kids......

@118
When Mike Moore shows up at your home(under false pretenses) and blindsides you with those types of questions ON CAMERA what would you have done.
I bet you beleve that WAL MART was the real culprate in the columbine massacre too?
Talk about somone that wants attention, he is a sensationalist muckraker who's point I could more easily agree with if his tactics and methods were not so "greaseball" and resembled sucker-punches.
Even politicians prepare for an unscripted debate.
Who had the advantage there-?Lard ass, sensationalist M MOORE or the 80 year old with Alzheimers?
Yeah, that was a defining moment for me, too

"Michael Moore, now with 50% more bullshit-for those of you who can't or don't want to make opinions of your own"

One time, on Spongebob Squarepants, I saw him build a fire underwater and shark was running around in circles.
This MUST BE TRUE...I saw it on TV

You guys'll believe anything-especially from 3rd rate "documentary sytle" filmmakers. you forget that these things are opinions, in the style of documentaries.
When you go camping, do you look for the Blair witch too?

"Opinions are like assholes, everyone has them and they all STINK!
especially M Moore"-ME

just one of the masterfully edited scenes from everyones favorite mockumentary.

We are taken to the North County Bank in Michigan, which — like several other banks in the United States — allows people who buy a Certificate of Deposit to receive their interest in the form of a rifle or shotgun. (The depositor thereby receives the full value of the interest immediately, rather than over a term of years.)

Moore goes through the process of buying the CD and answering questions for the federal Form 4473 registration sheet. Although a bank employee makes a brief reference to a "background check," the audience never sees the process whereby the bank requires Moore to produce photo identification, then contacts the FBI for a criminal records check on Moore, before he is allowed to take possession of the rifle.

Moore asks: "Do you think it's a little bit dangerous handing out guns at a bank?" The banker's answer isn't shown.

So the audience is left with a smug sense of the pro-gun bank's folly. Yet just a moment's reflection shows that there is not the slightest danger. To take possession of the gun, the depositor must give the bank thousands of dollars (an unlikely way to start a robbery). He must then produce photo identification (thus making it all but certain that the robber would be identified and caught), spend at least a half hour at the bank (thereby allowing many people to see and identify him), and undergo an FBI background check (which would reveal criminal convictions disqualifying most of the people inclined to bank robbery). A would-be robber could far more easily buy a handgun for a few hundred dollars on the black market, with no identification required.

The genius of Bowling for Columbine is that the movie does not explicitly make these obvious points about the safety of the North County Bank's program. Rather, the audience is simply encouraged to laugh along with Moore's apparent mockery of the bank, without realizing that the joke is on them for seeing danger where none exists. This theme is developed throughout the film.

Who are you talking to? You rant 6 posts off while saying I can't continue this conversation? No one is talking to you and you still post? Are you off your meds?

For clarification, it wasn't a shark running around on Sponge Bob, it was a starfish. It sounds like you can repeat "Bowling for Columbine" verbatim. Admit it, deep down you love the movie. You wouldn't know all this about the show if you didn't. That is called sarcasm, you need to work on your's because it's not funny.

You call someone a "lardass" and think I am the one who is racist or anti-semitic? Uh, ok? That is a total oxymoron. I guess I hit a nerve when I made that remark about probably being called a commie by everyone with more shotgun shells than teeth. Thanks for labeling yourself. Oh, and thanks for saying CH was an 80 year old with Alzheimer's. You hit the nail on the head with that one.

I will stop saying fascist, I'll just start calling you a "black shirt" instead.

I was't talking to You-whocares.
Your overblown sense of self importance knows no bounds.

WHOCARES-
this one is for you. You can call me whatever you want, but you still didn't answer of the questions.
By the way, thanks for correcting me on spongebob squarepants-your knowledge in this area is astonishing-perhaps you're feeling a bit out of your league in this chat?No wonder this has been a one sided affair, I'm trying to rationalize with a 7 year old.
Maybe a Dungeons and Dragons forum would better suit you?POkemon, digimon-your pick.
By the way, CH DID was an 80 year old suffering from Alzheimers...I still can't see why you gloat over that fact?
I NEVER called M Moore a commie-you and the others did. Besides, who hasn't seen that movie. I watch movies that I dont like, that's how I know that I don't like them.
You apparently didnt like ANY of CH's movies, but let us all know about that fact on your first post.
C'mon out of the closet-you were really sweet on the old guy, werent you?
You own his ENTIRE collection?
TURN off the cartoons and turn on CSPAN, spongebob whocares

The comments on this site by the smug, arrogant, hateful liberals are proof positive of why they, and liberalism, deserve nothing but intolerance.

I'd rather not have guns in the community, but let's be realistic: a person who really wants to obtain a gun will get it, by fair means or foul. A gun ban disarms the ones who want to legally obtain guns.

But be fair: It's also scary when an angry young man, in anger, has access to his father's firearms when he is blinded by rage.

Dura Lex Sed Lex. But that doesn't automatically make it RIGHT.

To the retard that compared Heston with Hitler:

Hitler was a lot more like YOU:

He was anti-gun (for the populace);

He was a Vegetarian, Cocaine-loving, freak;

And finally, he believed Society was God, just like any Lefto Retard!

Remember, he was a fellow Socialist!

Why the fuck are Replublicans so proud of themselves?

im glad that sick fuck is dead i only wish he had died slowly and painfuly from a gun shot wound he is in part responsible for a great deal of many deaths including children as young as 6. he was a deluded cold blooded FOOL.
