Feb 11 2008Amy Winehouse pwns the Grammys
Amy Winehouse scored five Grammys last night: Record of the Year, Best New Artist, Song of the Year for "Rehab," Best Vocal Album and Best Pop Vocal Performance. She accepted the award live via satellite from London. Her visa request was denied but then accepted at the last minute. Amy chose to perform closer to home. Us Magazine reports:
After accepting her award, an emotional Winehouse, who was joined on stage by her dad and mom, thanked her parents, record label and "incarcerated Blake" — her husband, who has been behind bars since last last year.
"I can’t believe I’ve won 5 awards. It’s a shame I couldn’t be there to accept the awards but I’m so proud and happy that I had the opportunity to perform for the Grammys in my hometown of London with my family and friends around me," she said. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!” .
Amy Winehouse's performance (video after the jump) was surprisingly lucid. Much like Britney Spears it seems Amy is getting her ducks in a row. With the two of them on the top of their game, Britney and Amy should put their heads together and form a brain trust. They could find a cure for cancer. I mean, once they're done putting test tubes on all their fingers and trying to eat a lab monkey.

Don't care, don't care
2. my comment - February 11, 2008 10:55 AM
She's talented. Something unusual these days.
I hope she pulls herself together.
3. Ript1&0 - February 11, 2008 10:58 AM
And/or trying to make a crack pipe out of a beaker. Get the bunson burner, Britney!!!
No idea what a bunson burner is, really. But they'll find a way to smoke crack out of it I'm sure.
4. noneyobeezwax - February 11, 2008 10:59 AM
i wonder how many crack rocks it would take for her to give those grammys up?
5. Rick - February 11, 2008 11:08 AM
lmao@all the continued hating. Amy needs to have a baby and then die, so that all you bitterly jealous losers can go soft and moan "oooooh, the poor baby! And Heath was the most talented singer of his generation! I mean Amy!" And attack anybody who criticizes her. You are as predictable as you are pathetic, the very definition of loser.
6. Jenny - February 11, 2008 11:10 AM
When she tries to look sexy and seductive it makes me vomit. RIP keyboard. We had a good run.
7. Madeline - February 11, 2008 11:11 AM
Wait, isn't her hair short and blonde now? What's going on here?
8. deaconjones - February 11, 2008 11:11 AM
blah blah blah blahblah
9. IKE - February 11, 2008 11:13 AM
She seemed sincerely shocked and happy when they announced that she won.
I'm glad that she's (HOPEFULLY) heading the right direction now. She's a great talent.
10. Spazz - February 11, 2008 11:13 AM
I dont know her music but cant get past her being the most fucked up and frightening thing i have ever seen before.
11. LL - February 11, 2008 11:14 AM
She deserved it (as much as anyone "deserves" a Grammy). That beehive hairdo and that fucked up eye makeup still makes her look like a loon, but she can sing. I think it's hilarious that she won with a song titled "Rehab." Maybe Britney should make a song titled "Not Acting Like a Lunatic," and she could win the Most Ironic Grammy Award of 2009.
12. Jen - February 11, 2008 11:15 AM
Am I the only one who thinks she still looks wasted !?
She made the creepiest, weird faces while she was singing her first song...ad danced like a drunk retard in the second.
wtf?
13. spaz - February 11, 2008 11:16 AM
rick needs some midol.
14. Mick - February 11, 2008 11:19 AM
I really don't understand how anyone can think she has talent. She sounds, looks, and acts like a drag queen.
15. I'm going to be nice - February 11, 2008 11:21 AM
I'm glad to see she made it through the song without shooting up or falling down. I've always appreciated her music because for christs sakes is something that sounds different for a change! Still freaky looking, but oh well.
16. Jesus Tap Dancing Christ - February 11, 2008 11:22 AM
Hey! Lab monkey is delicious.
17. Jen - February 11, 2008 11:23 AM
another thing..
What's the fucking deal with so many people claiming that Britney(flewoverthecookoosnest) is finally getting her shit together? Perez just said it and now Fish?
I just her pic on TMZ and she looks like $5.00 crack whore....in ripped fishnets, no pants, skank red panties OVER her fishnets, no bra, her usual dirty blue shirt was on inside-out and backwards...her "hair" was pulled back extreme exposing her nASSty weave (that I'm sure an rodent dwells in)...and she was back to "puffing' smoke into her disgusting mouth.
oh dear... did I forget to mention the fucking BOOTS again!?
Oh..and that daddy has apparently confiscated her pink wig!?
Give me a fucking break. Britney is as batshit as ever.
Pay attention peeples!
18. syn13 - February 11, 2008 11:24 AM
I like Amy's music a lot, but her performance last night was abysmal. People need to stop patting her on the back and congratulating her for not puking on herself while on stage.
19. TheJoker - February 11, 2008 11:25 AM
Many props to Ms. Winehouse. That little crackhead can sing.
20. Mimi - February 11, 2008 11:27 AM
Praying for Amy and Britney.
What wonders our God can do!
21. Andrea - February 11, 2008 11:28 AM
syn13 that's exactly what they should do, at this point in time. If she can stay off drugs, eventually it'll be time to up the ante, but compared to how low she was just a few weeks ago, she's doing well. Decent human beings understand this.
22. havoc - February 11, 2008 11:30 AM
Congratulations Amy!!
You deserve it!!
Goddamn she's ugly.......
.
23. Gerald_Tarrant - February 11, 2008 11:31 AM
Amy sucks. You could barely make out what she was saying, let alone singing. She sucked last night and she will continue to keep sucking because everyone coddles her stoned ass. If I ever decide to go and commit crimes, I am moving to England, apparently they don't lock you up for shit there.
Cop: Excuse me Miss Winehouse, terribly sorry to bother you.
Amy: Awww, whatttufukkkkk yu want???
Cop: You dropped this crackpipe and have a trail of heroin coming from your handbag.
Amy: Awww, whatttufukkkkk yu want???
Cop: That's all ma'am. We just wanted you to know you were losing your drugs.

25. Mandy - February 11, 2008 11:34 AM
Awwww, poor lil Gerald! I feel so bad for you. You got all growed up and nobody's treating you like Mommy did! Wah Wah Wah Waaaaaaaah!
26. djfred - February 11, 2008 11:36 AM
Trying to lump Amy and Britney together isn't going to work as I'll bet Amy has at least 40 IQ points on her and is infinitely more talented.
27. Gerald_Tarrant - February 11, 2008 11:41 AM
Mandy, are you really Amy? Your comment made about as much sense as Amy did last night.
Wino should have been nominated for one award, biggest fucking trainwreck of the year. Up against, BritBrit (they could fight over who is more British), Jamie Lynn Spears, LiLo, Paris Herpes.
The only shock of the night is that they gave Herbie Hancock album of the year, not Winehouse. I felt like it was some sort of sympathy intervention.
Awww, poor Amy, if we give you all these awards that you don't deserve will you try to get off the crack?
28. Fox News Watcher - February 11, 2008 11:44 AM
I can't believe people keep praising and supporting this DRUG FELON. It's yet another sign of the decay of world culture. I blame Africa, and you all know exactly what I'm talking about.
Here's a song worth listening to, written by a true American, Mr. John David Ashcroft (no jew in that name!). It's called "Let the Eagle Soar" and there's a clip of him singing it at the godless jew-tube site:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=woLQI8X2R6Y
Let the eagle soar,
Like she's never soared before.
From rocky coast to golden shore,
Let the mighty eagle soar.
Soar with healing in her wings,
As the land beneath her sings:
'Only god, no other kings.'
This country's far too young to die.
We've still got a lot of climbing to do,
And we can make it if we try.
Built by toils and struggles
God has led us through.
29. Anal Fistula - February 11, 2008 11:44 AM
she must have stayed clean for a few days prior to this...she actually looks less like a scary transvestite in these pics than i am accustomed to...
30. Jesus Tap Dancing Christ - February 11, 2008 11:44 AM
#26 So Amy has an IQ of 40. That's still pretty dumb.
31. syn13 - February 11, 2008 11:46 AM
#21 - That's sweet, Andrea. Does anyone know if there is an emoticon for "rolling my eyes"?
32. viceless wonder - February 11, 2008 11:47 AM
I can't believe this freakshow drug addict cleaned out at the Grammy's. Why do people want to reward a fucking train wreck like thi? She's the worst possible example of a person who deserves NO RECOGNITION. Perhaps she has talent but, she also has a sickening destructive addiction which she fucking refuses to take responsibility for. Role model shmole model but, people DO emulate her and follow her example because she is in the public eye. Apparently she also has finally gotten a Visa, many people were fighting to keep her out but, I guess the massive lack of standards won out in the end. "Send the refugee who will surely be killed back to their war torn country where there is no such thing as human rights, because we have to make room for a sick, selfish, lying, waste of skin, druggie here in the land of the free". FUCK THIS BULLSHIT. This woman is the biggest fucking coward on the planet.
33. Gerald_Tarrant - February 11, 2008 11:48 AM
#28 - I'm quite familiar with that song. The song - and the man - deserve awards, not degenerates like Amy Auschwitz.
34. Sid - February 11, 2008 11:50 AM
#32 - so, obviously you've bought your guns. Have you picked out the elementary school yet?
35. Ted from LA - February 11, 2008 11:51 AM
"This woman is the biggest fucking coward on the planet"
No, anonymous internet ranters are the biggest cowards, everybody knows that.
This girl has talent and I respect that. I don't begrudge her these awards.
36. Kim - February 11, 2008 11:54 AM
Her music SUCKS! It's like listening to an old warped record.
37. panty magnet - February 11, 2008 11:58 AM
No I'm going to have to agree with #32.
#35. That make you a coward too. So you are a bigger fuckup than this drug addicted whore? Now that's sad.
38. aeuwave - February 11, 2008 11:59 AM
i honestly do not think she's that great. however, hopefully these awards will let her know she needs to get better and stop being a fuck up. unless, again, she feels she is being rewarded for being a fuck up...... hmm....
39. Homer S. - February 11, 2008 11:59 AM
@32 --- Your ideas intrigue me. I'd like to subscribe to your newsletter (or is it just "Soldier of Fortune"?).
40. D. Richards (Chef.) - February 11, 2008 12:00 PM
I gotta say, Amy Winehouse has great stage prescence. In fact, her singing is almost overshadowed by her stage prescence -- it's that good. The whole performance was very natural and she was barely even trying. She was great, has much talent, and I was very impressed. She deserved to win her Grammies. Unlike some people (Kanye).
Dick says: Amy's still a junky whore though.
41. Jim - February 11, 2008 12:03 PM
I agree with #32 also. This FUCKING WORLD FUCKING SUCKS! People are fucking useless, all of them. There will be a day - FUCKING TRUST ME - when you'll all have to pay. All you liberal druggie homosexual faggots sucking each other's cocks while sticking your finger up a boy's ass - THE DAY IS COMING, MY FRIEND, WHEN YOU WILL BE TORN LIMB FROM LIMB AND YOUR SEVERED HEAD WILL BE PARADED AROUND IN FRONT OF YOUR FAMILY. So enjoy your fun now, because the good, just, moral, GOD-FEARING people are sick and tired of your fucking existence. THANK GOD THE SECOND AMENDMENT GIVE US THE SOLUTION.
42. Rossco - February 11, 2008 12:05 PM
I could make out about... five words in that whole performance. Apparently when a British cokehead wench sings it turns out sounding like someone with down syndrome trying to do a Diana Ross impersonation.
43. nipolian - February 11, 2008 12:10 PM
#28 - You have me all confused.......What does AW's drug addictions have to do with Africa..... and by using anit-semitc rants you are promoting a Jewish singer's song?!? WTF
44. Matthew - February 11, 2008 12:10 PM
LMAO @ 41!!!
Finally we hear directly from the retarded inner child of the typical Superficial commenter.
45. The Light - February 11, 2008 12:10 PM
The mindless lemmings in entertainment all crawl over each other to be more understanding and more righteous for the current underdog hero staying true against the man. Wienhouse sucks. I've seen hundreds of better performers in NYC. She's just the brain addled flavor of the moment.
46. nipolian - February 11, 2008 12:17 PM
#41 - Sorry to point out the obvious but you have contradicted yourself (just slightly):
People are fucking useless, all of them.
and
So enjoy your fun now, because the good, just, moral, GOD-FEARING people are sick and tired of your fucking existence.
So......are the good, just, moral, GOD-FEARING people useless also?
47. RichPort - February 11, 2008 12:18 PM
#32 and 37 - It's people like you that expect others to parent your children, and be good "role models". So having substance abuse issues and being borderline looney disquaifies you for any adoration at all? This ain't Major League Baseball and there are no drug tests... many musicians are fucked up and still produce incredible material (Hendrix, Bob Marley, The Beatles... etc...). I'm not gonna tell my son to do what they do, but sometimes their addictions can provide a small window of understanding for the things that afflict unaddicted people. Here's a thought: teach your kids right from wrong, don't leave that to Amy Winohouse to do. Anything else is in fact cowadice. I remember when Charles Barkley had a commercial that opened "I am not a role model. Parents are role models." Listen to Eminem's "Just Like Me" if you want o outsource your parental responsibilities. If you think for one minute the musicians you do deem worthy of awards are all clean and sober, then I'd love to get a clip of the 2008 Polka Awards you just gushed over.
Morons.
48. The Truth And You Know It - February 11, 2008 12:20 PM
"Wienhouse"
The flavor of the hate is antisemitism. It always is, on an Amy WINEhouse thread.
49. Gerald_Tarrant - February 11, 2008 12:25 PM
Woohoo @ 33, I finally got my very own troll. Thank you for this award. I really never expected to win a Trolly, but if you follow your dreams and keep posting, eventually someone will award you. You like me, you really like me.
50. nipolian - February 11, 2008 12:26 PM
#47 - Well said! Except the part about the Polka players......It is a well known fact that they are solely responsible for the Meth epidemic that America is facing today. Damn those tweeking Polka players.
51. kitty_kat - February 11, 2008 12:32 PM
She can sing but her songs suck. She didn't deserve to win as many awards as she did. Definitely not.
52. whatever - February 11, 2008 12:34 PM
Apparently, she was as shocked to see that she won as everyone else. At least I think that was shock, and not drug-induced confusion. She has talent, she is a fuckup, and if she has any sense she'll clean it up before she joins the ever growing group of famous 20 somethings that never live to see 30.
53. nipolian - February 11, 2008 12:35 PM
I can't quite put my finger on it........but something about this picture really makes her look as though she was from England:

55. wake-up people - February 11, 2008 12:42 PM
Yeahh! Finally I can tell my kids don't waste your time going to college and learn something.Be like Wino,Britney like all those losers out there, thats how you win an Grammy and make millions that you don't deserve. It is not the personality that counts anymore.

Who cares, she still gonna O.D.
57. pancio - February 11, 2008 12:49 PM
I don't care if she OD's. Lots of crazy/talented musicians have OD'd. That's far less objectionable than having to listen to even one song by the likes of Beyonce.

#47. Fucking moron. Why would you think either of them have children? What they are saying is that grown ups see this addicted whore get her awards and think hey I guess I can destroy my body with drugs, put my family through hell ,and still do all right. "I'm so fucking badass I have tattoos, ignore the customs of bathing myself and do drugs like a rock star." This woman should be thrown in jail. She's a fucking hideous criminal.
Why would anyone with a working brain ever expect a celebrity to be a role model for their children? You think that's an intelligent point, that's the most basic fucking shit on earth; Parenting 101, fool. #32. said "role model shmole model". their point was that it's the fucking grown little children who don't qualify for the word "adult" even though they are way past their teens that look up to this druggie slut and follow her sick pathetic example.
This fucking slut should not be rewarded. They take away your medals when you use drugs. "Many musicians are fucked up and still produce incredible material". Yeah athletes on drugs also do well retard they seem to preform quite well on drugs actually. So why is the fucking music industry so devoid of morals and standards? I guess because if they didn't give awards to addicts there would be no awards shows but, it's still sad and pathetic that this waste of a life hideous ugly bitch gets applauded by anyone. I pity her parents.
62. FFSWTF - February 11, 2008 1:09 PM
I could care less about Amy (Whiner)house but seriously... did you check the nominees? Isn't like they had a lot of talented options and thanks to Britney we can be sure a fucked up junkie girl catches attention more than anyone with real talent.
And in other news... Barack Obama pwns Bill Clinton and gets the Grammy for best spoken word album. Not kidding.
63. meh - February 11, 2008 1:09 PM
Ok, so that video, I must admit, is the first time I've ever heard her sing...and you know what, she's fucking good. I watched (for a brief moment) something about her on E this weekend and she writes her own songs too. It's refreshing to see someone get recognized that has a good voice and is creating her own songs. You don't see that often any more.
Also, need I remind you that MOST of the best musicians EVER were junkies? I think everyone can agree that Jimmi Page is a fantastic guitarist...dope fiend...all of them...doesn't matter what genre of music you prefer, they were all junkies at one point. Johhny Cash, The Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin, Ray Charles, Kurt Cobain, some of the Beatles...get off your fucking high horses. If you're a parent and you're afraid your children will model themselves after these stars, beat yourself, your kids don't need the beatings...you do. Weird how TV, music and media have become more of a parent these days than the actual people. Blaming Marilyn Manson for Columbine, etc. is just dumb. It's lack of parenting that is making society a waste.
And #46-I think the GOD-FEARING are the useless people. They are the ones in favor of blaming TV, music and media for all the crap in this world instead of taking the blame for their lack of parenting.
64. Hiton H8ter - February 11, 2008 1:16 PM
#63. And all others with the same tired parent comments read #61.
If drug addicted whores like this can get awards than give back the medals and titles and respect to all the drug using athletes. Fucking hypocrites.
65. RichPort - February 11, 2008 1:19 PM
#61 - You just wasted all that time saying a whole lot of nothing. You want to impose your faux morality on every profession, be my guest, dickhead. What I said (I know, asshole, reading comprehension is tough when your eyes are clouded with cowardly rage) is that all kinds of people make all kinds of contributions, whether or not they're all kinds of fucked up. The Grammy Awards aren't the Morality Awards. You have just basically disqualified every country artist, every R&B artist, the likes of Billy Joel, many rock and jazz artists, and just about most major acts from most musical genres with your incredibly ignorant and naive type written diarrhea. And, as hypocrites do, you talk of being "so devoid of morals and standards" when your writing is the equivalent of a portosan at a construction site for a few fucking weeks, replete with vitriol.
Nice try, braniac. Don't buy her record. Who gives a shit. And like I said, you're the kind of person that gets mad at the teachers when your child brings home F's.

I agree most of the best musicians ever were freaking junkies but WAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIITTTTTIT a second... we are talking about Amy Winehouse here, don't you think you are going way too far comparing this anorexic junkie with Jimmy Page, Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin... The Beatles? Holy...
67. meh - February 11, 2008 1:25 PM
#66-No. I'm just comparing how many fantastic musicians that are so applauded now were on drigs back then. She'll have to do a lot more impressing to get me to compare her to the likes of those artists.

#68 - Who gives a fuck who has kids or not? How many gospel singers are addicts and adulterers? How many classical musicians are boozers or nicotine addicts? Seriously, you have got to be one of the more self deluded posters I've read here in a while, and if you're familiar with the crowd, that's saying alot. #63 is spot on. I would LOVE to know what pure and chaste music you listen to. Please do not reproduce. The music industry got enough to do to have to teach your little girl how to blow the junior high school football team, just like mommy used to.
72. tards - February 11, 2008 1:42 PM
Read #64??? The one who equates a drug addiction that's destroying a musician's ability to perform with a carefully laid out schedule of steroid loading to produce superior athletic performance and winning-by-cheating? Yeah, they're the same thing in the sense that they have absolutely nothing to do with each other.
Except...they do involve "drugs" of one sort or another. I always wondered what Nancy Reagan would do with her time after Ronnie died...
73. Wow @ 61 - February 11, 2008 1:47 PM
"What they are saying is that grown ups see this addicted whore get her awards and think hey I guess I can destroy my body with drugs, put my family through hell ,and still do all right. I feel sorry for any adult who is still seeking a role model to pattern themselves after. One would think that once you reach the age of maturity, you are responsible for YOUR OWN decisions. Most folks with an ounce of common sense can think for themselves and know that being a doped up crackfiend is not the way to go.
And @ 64, there's a difference between athletes taking performance enhancing drugs and some cracked out loser singer. The former is punished because they have an unfair advantage over their competitors who don't abuse steroids, the latter is just some stupid twat who willingly chooses to ruin her own life. Overdosing on a toilet will be the punishment for her actions, we need not interfere with that. She's no kin of mine, so I could give flying fuck how much dope she pumps into her system. You want to gripe about the music industry putting druggies on a pedestal, but I'm more worried about a political system that's willing brushes unseemly behaviors under the rug. (Because is it just me, or do I recall our illustrious president having a little drug problem in the past?) Pick your battles, douche.
74. Beth - February 11, 2008 1:48 PM
If you do something exceptional, sometimes that achievement gets recognized. If you're exceptional as a person, you get a "Lifetime Achievement Award" or a "Medal of Honor" or some crap like that. It's easy to distinguish between the two types of awards. Quit getting your panties in a bunch because Amy Winehouse put out a good album.
75. roger - February 11, 2008 2:00 PM
Maybe using drugs allows you to write better material and therefore you are screwing your clean competition. I mean it's no coincidence that the best musicians are and were the addicts. What about the drug free artists who don't have the inspirational benefit of hallucinations, crazy trips and drug induced comas? Maybe Mandy Moore’s music wouldn’t suck so badly with a little heroin in her veins. In that way it's very much like the Olympics, they kill the competition because their game is enhanced by all the fucking drugs. Tell me the best songs ever written weren't written with the aid of smokable /injectable /snortable talent enhancers.

78. Guitar Jones - February 11, 2008 2:17 PM
#75 - any real musician will tell you that's not true. You can perform high, although it's always possible you'll completely suck. But you can't write high. "Inspirations" you get when high are always gibberish or simply stupid when you get sober again. Junkie musicians write in between hits, or after enough of a hit to quell the withdrawal symptoms and leave you with a clear head for a few hours.

I like how she had her own Pips.
80. roger - February 11, 2008 2:29 PM
#78. Many song writers have credited their wild trips as inspiration but even IF what you said was true then it'sin great part the miserable druggie lifestyle that provides such great inspirations. What is more tragic then being your own worst enemy? Misery inspires great art. Hence the expression "Starving artist" starving for another hit 9no pun intended) in the music world. Many writers have said their best work came when they were miserable. There is a reason musicians and athletes turn to drugs. It DOES give them an edge (in different ways) and then in the end it destroys them. So I suppose there is no point hatin' on this whore because she'll get hers.

I so love reading the self-righteous, "moral" majority evangelical right wing asshole comments on here, telling everyone God hates them and they'll be sorry, blah blah.
And by the way, WHY are you reading gossip? It's a sin, you know. You are going to hell, not Amy Winehouse. She's busy winning at life while you poor pathetic pussies pound out your hatred for your own lives onto your keyboards, all the while preparing for a life without God for eternity because you are a hateful racist pig, and you will be rejected at the pearly gates just like you are rejected by society here on earth. I pity you. Really I do.
82. Stephen - February 11, 2008 2:38 PM
roger, nigga please. No musicians became great ONLY AFTER they develop drug addictions. It always works the same way, the way it did for Amy: become successful, become self-indulgent, become drug-addicted. That's the sequence. It doesn't work the other way around.
83. RichPort - February 11, 2008 2:49 PM
#82 - Something tells me Bob Marley may have smokes a spliff or two before becoming an icon, and I have a sneaky suspicion Amy Winehouse's first foray into the netherworld of drug usage didn't occur at her record release party. But I will agree with you that many addictions became amplified after stardom due to an influx of cash and access.

LMAO! In case anybody's wondering if SuperFish commenters understand what it's like to be an artist, this thread will clear things up.

#35,
Not me again. Fish, why can these people post under multiple names? It really ruins the fun of posting on this board and never knowing which personality is actually posting. Fix this FISH.

Midwives in Jamaica fire one up for the baby as soon as it crowns, so I don't think the Marley example is representative... As far as Amy goes, who knows. But she did break through with an earlier album back in 2003, and it's been my admittedly casual impression that her drug problems are of more recent vintage. Lots of popular musicians only have 1 or 2 albums in them, get lucky enough to get recognized, then turn to drugs when their inspiration fails and they start repeating themselves. I think that's a lot more common than sucking as a musician but then finding success when a drug addiction - of course! - gives you drive, ambition, and inspiration.

Is Kanye whining yet, that she got more "time" for her acceptance speech?!
88. Lowlands - February 11, 2008 3:29 PM
I'll bet these five grammys made her higher than ever she could imagine possible in her wildest dreams.Congratulations:)

I hate Kanye West. He's a whiny little bitch, and I don't get why he hasn't been taken out by a fellow rapper in the Tupac tradition. Fuckin little momma's boy.
91. Spazzcat - February 11, 2008 3:59 PM
Whoah, wait, didn't she have like super short blonde hair a couple of weeks ago?
So THAT'S where my Halloween wig went...
92. abdo - February 11, 2008 4:23 PM
pwns??
what does it mean???
93. nipolian - February 11, 2008 4:43 PM
#24 & #92 - Stemming from the misspelling of the word "owns", being that the "p" key is right next to the "o" key. It does not mean the possesive "owns", but as in a form of domination, such as in a game or sport.
94. whoa - February 11, 2008 5:06 PM
did fish really write "lucid"? she was totally out of it. and that was a poor performance for her. she can sound much better.
95. Sauron - February 11, 2008 5:56 PM
How strange things can turn out?Despite all her future looks brighter than ever. There must be a higher power keeping his hand above her head,a very high one.
96. Sauron - February 11, 2008 6:08 PM
Or, how surprising things can turn out?Her ' meditation' sessions to contact these gods have been working out well. Her high desires are gramted.
97. katalina - February 11, 2008 7:10 PM
Is it just me, or was the performance of those songs cringe worthy?
98. VtFarmboy - February 11, 2008 7:48 PM
One big BIG difference between Amy Winohouse and Britney Put it to me Spears......... Amy has tallent, Amy can sing, Amy can perform and Amy can write....... Britney can..... um.......... drink capachinos????? I suppose you could say that britney can dance that she used to be able to do. She certainly has no ability to sing live on stage.
99. Unklejoe - February 11, 2008 8:58 PM
Now i really want to lick amys aszhole!
100. garg - February 11, 2008 9:46 PM
Good choice! She is loaded with talent and is clearly the best and original singer out there today. The grammys are for judging singing and writing talent. Enough said.
101. lambman - February 11, 2008 11:06 PM
Well deserved! I am so happy she won more awards (and bigger awards) than they cry baby Kanye West who's big hit single this year was just a shitty rap track laid over a depeche mode song that was better on its own.
102. kitty_kat - February 11, 2008 11:10 PM
@100- The best artist out there today? Are you serious?
103. FRT - February 11, 2008 11:19 PM
Why???
How???
Why and how did Amy "Crackhouse" win Grammy awards???
She sounds like a cat getting run over by a lawn mower!!!
104. S - February 12, 2008 1:46 AM
When she started being in the international headlines for being so freaky, I had no desire to look her up to see what she sounded like, because she grossed me out.
But after reading this stub in my reader, I thought I'd check her out, especially since her recent pics have looked better (for her, she's still a freaky goth/praying mantis, but maybe she'll stay relatively sober enough to put on another 20-30 pounds).
Her voice does seem to be pleasant enough for the types of songs she performed in that clip, but to me the songs were just plain weird and ugly despite her voice. I was expecting her to do armpit farts at any time.
105. spasmolytic46 - February 12, 2008 6:43 AM
I wonder if I could fuck her without breaking her in half? Of course that might be kinda hot if she did... I bet she cries real good.
106. ciak - February 12, 2008 7:34 AM
Well, I don't understand what's wrong with Amy
is she ugly? and so what? the most of you are
is she a drug addict? so what, the most of you are
you americans, moralistic morons!!!!!
107. RichPort - February 12, 2008 8:29 AM
#107 - I have verifiable proof that nearly all of the assinine comments on this thread were written by Brits and Canuckians... the well thought out, funny, and insightful commentary was 100% American made.
True story.
108. travyls - February 12, 2008 9:13 AM
I am very curious. . I have seen her photo on a celebrity and millionaire dating site named searchingmillionaire.com. what is she looking for t here?.
109. bogdana - February 12, 2008 9:30 AM
I like her, I have her CD but she is not very original. She's strange, like a cover artist with original songs. I've heard this sound before. from the 1950s... its retro and a fad but its not grammy winning.
wait yes it is the grammys are all about money and pandering.
110. Kathvv - February 13, 2008 2:37 PM
At least she did not have the cracked out glassy eyed f*cked up look to her...however, her body still looks like it belongs to a junkie.
