The WWE reaction to the steroids link is just pathetic. Every other sport out there goes to great pains to distance their players from steroids. WWE apparently celebrates their wrestlers' use of steroids. How ridiculous.

As for the deaths not being caused by rage, whose to say he didn't strangle his wife in a fit of rage, realize what he did, kill the son, lay out the Bibles (to somehow seek foregiveness, I guess) and then kill himself. All that had to be caused by a fit of rage was the initial act. Everything else could have easily followed from that.

I'd say that it was more likely a momentary act of remorse to place the Bibles near the victims. Because Benoit was so close to the people he killed, a minor (if perverted) act of empathy seems reasonable. People who kill their family members in the manner that Benoit did sometimes do things that they think will "make it better" -- dressing up a baby after it's been killed, bathing a wife after she's been murdered. In Benoit's case, I believe it's possible that the Bibles were placed there for the purpose of redeeming his wife and child's souls. Sort of like a "last rites."

First off, how tragic is this? I wouldn't think Roid Rage would cause the murders in this fashion. People enraged by alcohol or other substances do not usually take the time to tie people up or suffocate them. They just end up beating people senseless. Now here's my hypothesis. What could drive a man to kill his wife and son in this fashion? Is he God fearing? Yes, there were bibles left at the side of his wife and his son. And what about those messages? To whom were they sent? I'd bet money that those people were involved on more than just a superficial level. Here's my take. His wife has been cheating on him before he ever got married, not only that but his son is not biologically his. Those text messages were to his coworkers who have betrayed him.

Guys, the term "'roid rage" is misleading and really doesn't do this scenario justice - try substituting "steroid-induced psychosis" and you'll get a better idea of what can happen to steroid abusers - Penis Mightier, you need to get caught up on your steroid myths.
And if Benoit had been slowly losing it and the finally had a psychotic break, rationality and choice doesn't enter into it - you AREN'T rational, so you can't make a moral or rational choice. In that state, you can kill your family thinking you're saving them from some horrible fate. Irrational acts, Bibles next to bodies - and maybe even injecting his kid with HGH - make more sense in this context.

Jessica I do not feel that you should be attacked as you are but I have to say that there is some truth to those coming at you.
I too have children and I could never imagine hurting them, but there is a point that Chris reached that is dark and scary. When the whole truth comes out about this, it may make more sense why he snapped. But for now all I pray is that the little guy is not scared anymore. Don’t get me wrong I feel for what Nancy went through as well but I could not begin to think of how he felt when the person who was supposed to protect him took his fragile life!

This is not the fault of WWE. The only thing that they could have done/do is have random mental check ups done one their athletes. That is just like saying that any other pro-sport or buisness for that matter is responsible for the actions of their athletes/employees. They can protect the business but it is not their position to except blame in this.

I read that the son had fragile x syndrome, a genetic condition which causes mental retardation and autistic symptoms. Mothers pass it on to sons and daughters, and fathers only pass it on to daughters. People often don't realise they are carriers until their child develops the condition.
It's likely too that the mother would have suffered from severe depression, which is common for female carriers of the condition.

If they could figure out a way for her to be responsible for stringing him up after she died, they'd go for it. Shame on all of them.

on Chris Benoit: to be honest i was actually expecting weirder text messages but whatever. The thoughts of concussions and head and neck injuries may have played a part. I read that this morning and I really think that may have played a role.

I don't believe he would do such a thing, there are a lot of questions, like how could he send those messages, the time stamp on 3 were only a minute apart, did the police dust the phone for prints? the messages were odd to say the least, Why do they assume he did it when there was other people who had the motive and the opportunity to do so, anyone who really knew the man personaly would be asking this, wheres the DNA proof he did it,

I personally DO NOT believe that he did this. I said it from the beginning and I am sticking with my story until there is 100% proof of this bizarre tale of events. My children and I have been wrestling fans for years, I am a nurse, and I watch a lot of forensic files, and, please understand that I am not in denial, but I do strongly believe that there was someone else in the home with them, and there is a lot more to this story than meets the eye. The whole text messages thing seems like maybe he was trying to get some help in the house like someone else was in the home doing things to them. It seemed like a cry for help if you ask me, because he didn't kill himself (allegedly) until the next day, if he in fact had already killed his wife and child then when the text messages were sent knowing that people could act on the text messages police could have been called out to the home then, and he might not have been so successful with killing himself. That doesn't make sense.The entire crime scene seemed staged, if you ask me. The bibles and steroids laying around. The wife was bound, I really don't think that he would do something like that. And now, since their investigating someone posting on a website that the wife was dead 14 hours before the bodies were found, all sounds pretty suspicious to me. I did not know him personally but I have observed him with his wife and child and I know that people are capable of acting a certain way in public strictly for image sake, but I observed things that he did that just didn't add up with these crimes. He always kissed his son on the lips (non-sexual), most fathers do not do that with their sons, they feel like it shows a sign of homoesexuality, when in actuality it shows a deep love and bond between a father and son. If he went into steroid rage then this probably would not have been the first time, and there should have been more reports of actions similar to these before now. No family member has come forward and stated anything close to this. Incidents like these just don't pop out of nowhere. Not too many people even had anything negative to say about Chris Benoit. I think that we should all wait until the investigation is complete because it is quite obvious that there is mor to this story. Some people do just snap and I understand this more than anyone, I have snapped myself plenty of times, not at my children but at my husband, but something always snaps me back into reality. He had a 20 legacy and he knew by commiting such crimes and killing himself that would all be snatched from him even after death. I just do not see him accepting that. When people snap your friends and family see signs before you actually snap. They may ignore them, but they still see them. No one is saying that about him. NO ONE!

He's an actor god damnit. How he acts on his show is in no way a reflection of how he treats his family at home. Many people act completely different at home then in public, let alone an actor who has to keep up an image. I'm glad he's dead, the only thing I'm sorry about is that he had to take his family with him.

Also about the roid rage theory, I doubt he was on a "rage", but steroid use has been shown to dramatically increase agression in long run. I know he's not exactly a giant, but if he started taking them as a teenager it would actually stunt his growth (height wise).

Chris was a great wrestler anyway.

i now lot of u believe chris did it but some things don't ad up. Firstly the alcohol and riods that were found in the house. people including the police were accusing chris of using them well before the toxolgy reports came in. When they did come they showed there was no alcohol in chris' body and none of the riods found in the house(anabolical roids). the only ones found in his body were tesosterone which he was using for medical reasons ie he had a low testosterone level. as of yet the police can't explain what the roids and alcohol were doing in the house. even though they know chris wasnt taking it they are still trying o put it on him. they also can't explain why there was a bottle of wine found next to his body even though he asn't drinking. either way it looks like a setup.
another thing that makes it look like a tripe murder are the text messages. police have stated te messages were sent between 3am and 4am. The police have also said that chris died either saturday late evening or just after midnight on sunday. according to this report chris was aready dead at least for a few hours before the messages were sent. this can only mean one thing someone else was in that house. that person whoever they may be had to have sent those mssages. since they didnt call the cops its very unlikely they were someone trying to help. the most likely thing is that they killed the benoit family sent the messages and made it look like a doube murder suicide
police are ignoring this as all weapons used for the killings were in the house. They could have intentionally left them there ad used glov not to leave fingerprints.
one final thing is the police have realesed 3 statements as to how chris was found. the first report said e was found sitting in a chair next to the machine he supposedly hung himself on, 2 he was found hanging and the third saying he was found sitting next to the machine topless with the rope around his neck and one of the parts removed. they claim he removeed it then choked to death the problem with that is if he hung himself why wasnt he hanging?
