Jun 26 2009Perez Hilton's money refused by Matthew Shepard Foundation
When Perez Hilton filed a $25,000 lawsuit against Black Eyed Peas' manager Polo Molina, he announced he'd be donating the proceeds to the Matthew Shepard Foundation. Turns out that not only was the foundation never informed of such a donation, they don't want his money because he called Will.I.am a "fucking faggot." Here's the official statement from Judy Shepard:
The Matthew Shepard Foundation was surprised to learn this morning via media reports that blogger Perez Hilton (Mario Lavandeira) has announced he plans to donate, to our organization, the proceeds of a lawsuit he is contesting over an altercation which has been widely reported in recent days.
We had no advance notice or contact from Mr. Hilton or his representatives regarding this proposal, nor any communication since he posted this plan to his website.
We do not know the details of the lawsuit, whether it has been filed, the nature of his claims or the likely outcome. But because the lawsuit presumably involves the physical attack prompted by Mr. Hilton's admitted use of an anti-gay slur, the Foundation will be unable to accept any funds obtained in such a manner.
We very much appreciate the generosity of the offer to support our continuing work to memorialize Matthew through activism in defense of sexual minorities and in favor of understanding, compassion, and acceptance. But because so much of our work involves education to reduce the use of hateful language against gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered persons, or those so perceived, it would be inappropriate for us to benefit financially from circumstances in which such a verbal attack was involved.
While we applaud Mr. Hilton's apology to the LGBT community and their loved ones for his use of such a slur, we also feel compelled to point out that use of epithets can often lead to physical violence, as it appears it may have in this case, and that the Matthew Shepard Foundation has worked for more than 10 years to bring to people's attention the consequences of hateful or intolerant language.

Josh Duhamel stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night and, since he's married to Fergie, the conversation obviously turned towards Sunday's incident involving Perez Hilton and the Black Eyed Peas:
On the situation in general:
"I try not to get into it especially now because I don't think he deserves that much. He's got more press than he deserves from this whole thing."
On Perez Hilton:
"He goes a little below the belt, and when you poke somebody in the chest enough and when you call them enough names, I think it's good to get your nose bloody."
On who he wishes threw the punch:
"I kind of wish it was me."
Just so I don't look like a hypocrite, I'd like to state for the record that if Josh Duhamel ever punched me in the face, I had it coming for all those times I pointed out his wife's penis. That said, I know he wouldn't do it just like I could never punch him. It's against the Beautiful Man Code we swore to uphold. With sexy.

The Black Eyed Peas' manager Polo Molina is being sued for punching Perez Hilton in the face at the 2009 MuchMusic Video Awards Sunday night, according to the AP:
The celebrity blogger, whose real name is Mario Lavandeira, sued the Peas' road manager in Los Angeles for battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress. He is seeking unspecified damages of more than $25,000.
"Perez Hilton was assaulted by the band's road manager because he would not agree to stop writing about the Black Eyed Peas on his Web site," Bryan Freedman, Hilton's lawyer, said in a statement. "Whether you love Perez or hate him, he is entitled to his freedom of speech without fear of physical violence. This lawsuit will make the statement that violence is never the answer."
Wait. I thought he got punched in the face for calling Will.I.am a "fucking faggot" not because he's a shining crusader of first amendment rights. I guess I missed the part where Perez and George Washington battled the King of England for the right to make it look like splooge is falling out of Britney's dress. Must've happen between all the Twitters.

Because irony doesn't care where you stick your penis, Perez Hilton has officially pissed off the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) who aren't pleased by his decision to call Will.I.am a "fucking faggot" during an altercation Sunday night. Via TMZ:
"We have reached out to Hilton and asked him to apologize for promoting this anti-gay slur, and we would ask media outlets to avoid repetition of the slur in their coverage of this story.
For someone in our own community to use it to attack another person by saying that it is, quote, 'The worst possible thing that thug would ever want to hear,' is incredibly dangerous.
It legitimizes use of a slur that is often linked to violence against our community. And it sends a message that it is OK to attempt to dehumanize people by exploiting anti-gay attitudes."
Instead of being an adult and realizing he used a poor choice of words, Perez decided to shit on the gay community by throwing a hissy fit and firing off his own dramatic statement:
"I am saddened GLAAD chose to victimize me further by criticizing me for how I non-violently dealt with a very scary situation that, unfortunately, turned violent. While I doubt I will get an apology from GLAAD, nor do I expect one, I would just hope people know how difficult it is to intellectualize a situation and think rationally when a thug disguised as a musician is screaming at your face and intimidating you. I am just very fortunate and grateful that nothing more serious happened to me."
That's some incredible logic. I'll remember that the next time I intellectualize a situation by calling an African-American a "n-gger." Hey, I didn't use violence. Now gimme a medal.

Seen here after the alleged assault, Perez Hilton's altercation with Will.I. am last night was apparently caught on tape and you can audibly hear Perez call Will.I.am a "fucking faggot." TMZ has the play-by-play:
The footage begins in the middle of the verbal altercation outside an after-party for a music award show in Toronto -- moments after Hilton claims Will went after him like a "heat-seeking missile" and unleashed a verbal tirade at him.
With a crowd surrounding Perez, Will and Will's manager, Polo -- the guys argue back and forth for about a minute, until Perez tells Will, "you're not a f**king artist ... you're a f**king f*ggot."
The scene suddenly turns chaotic -- and in the mess someone punches Perez in the face.
Perez himself even admits to calling the Black Eyed Pea in an interview with the AP that must've made whoever transcribed it want to lay their face under a tractor trailer:
"He was like 'You need to respect me.' He was in my face. He was obviously trying to intimidate me and scare me," Hilton said. "I was like 'I don't need to respect you. I don't respect you and I did say this, and I knew that it would be the worst thing I could possibly say to him because he was acting the way he was. I said 'You know what, I don't respect you and you're gay and stop being such a faggot.'"
Jesus. After a spectacle like this you have to wonder what's next for Perez Hilton. Which is why my money's on flashing his vagina while getting out of a car. Who wants in?

Perez Hilton was allegedly assaulted last night while partying after the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto. He claims Will.I.am of the Black Eyed Peas was the one who hit him, and instead of calling the police, Perez started tweeting about it. Scope out Perez's tweets via TMZ which essentially ruin whatever legitimacy Twitter gained from the Iranian elections:

Will.I.am posted a video last night asserting his innocence, (Turns out it was the Black Eyed Peas manager Polo Molina who "attacked" Perez.) and took the immediate piss out of Perez by asking, why someone would Twitter instead of call the police if they were attacked? Allow me: Because Perez Hilton is nothing more than the same brand of media-obsessed celebutard he so vehemently draws semen on which proves he never really was a scathing observer of pop culture. Just a guy who wants to be Britney.
