Oct 7 2009Anna Nicole Smith investigated for murder
The FBI investigated Anna Nicole Smith for plotting to have the son of her late husband murdered but she was never prosecuted, according to newly released files. The AP reports:
Smith's FBI records, obtained exclusively by The Associated Press, say the agency investigated Smith in 2000 and 2001 in a murder-for-hire plot targeting E. Pierce Marshall, who was at the center of a long legal fight to keep the starlet, model and stripper from collecting his father's oil wealth, valued in the hundreds of millions. The younger Marshall died three years ago of natural causes.
The documents released under the Freedom of Information Act depict an investigation going on as the fight raged over J. Howard Marshall II's estate. Vast sections of the 100 pages of released materials -- a fraction of Smith's full FBI file -- are whited out, and no evidence of her involvement in such a plot is detailed.
The FBI files show a .357-caliber Smith and Wesson revolver was confiscated from Smith's home, along with a 3 1/2-inch stainless steel knife and, for reasons that were not explained, a black and orange hat described as "Dr. Seuss." All three objects were returned to her about seven months later.
Of course, it's no surprise the FBI let Anna Nicole off the hook. Spend two minutes talking to the woman and it'd be immediately obvious she couldn't plot the making of a sandwich with two pieces of bread stuck to each hand. Then again, the mere fact the FBI suspected the involvement of a "Dr. Seuss" hat, makes me wonder if Anna Nicole outsmarted us all. You know, by dying so no one could press charges. Clever girl...

Oct 6 2009Ryan Jenkins blames Jasmine Fiore in suicide note
Police have found a suicide note on Ryan Jenkin's hard drive that gives a pretty fucked up look into what he was thinking while on the run for murdering his wife Jasmine Fiore (above). People reports:
In the letter, the Megan Wants a Millionaire star blames Fiore for his predicament, saying she was beautiful, he loved her, and she made him jealous by sleeping with former boyfriends.
"It was clearly defined that Mr. Jenkins was jealous of multiple side relationships that she had," Buena Park Police Sgt. William Kohanek tells PEOPLE.
Jenkins doesn't mention in the one-and-a-half-page letter Fiore's death, the manner in which she died, or that he was a suspect in her death - very incriminating omissions, Kohanek says.
"The lack of acknowledging that he'd just lost his wife speaks volumes," Kohanek says.
Just so we're clear, Ryan Jenkins essentially blamed the woman he murdered, mutilated and shoved in a suitcase for her own death and his eventual suicide. Then again, Jasmine did text her old boyfriend that one time, so clearly this was her plan all along. Strippers: Nature's most diabolical masterminds.
Aug 25 2009Ryan Jenkins officially murders another VH1 show
After Ryan Jenkins hanged himself in a Canadian motel cementing his guilt in the murder of Jasmine Fiore (above), VH1 has decided to officially can Megan Wants a Millionaire and I Love Money 3 which Jenkins is rumored to have won. People reports:
The production company behind Megan Wants a Millionaire and I Love Money 3, 51 Minds, says it was "not aware" of Jenkins's record when he was cast on the shows, even though the company ran background checks on all the contestants.
A former contestant on one of the shows tells PEOPLE that if producers knew Jenkins had any criminal background, they would not have put him on the show.
"We did give them lots of extensive background information," says the former contestant, who did not want to be identified. "They wanted to know my criminal history, social security numbers, multiple different times, and drivers' license numbers. They did a pretty thorough check on me and I've got to assume they did it for everybody else."
Considering I Love Money 3 was most likely stacked with stripper rejects from Rock of Love with Bret Michaels, canceling the show was the smart move. It'd be like airing a reality show where Hitler and a mansion full of Jews competed in Road Rules style challenges before the Holocaust. I went right for it.

Aug 24 2009Jasmine Fiore's mother: 'Ryan Jenkins is a coward'
In light of murder suspect Ryan Jenkins hanging himself in a motel room, Jasmine Fiore's mother Lisa Lepore gave an interview to Good Morning America saying that while it's brought closure for her family, she would've liked to see Jenkins brought to justice:
"It's a relief to know that this man is not out there with the possibility of causing harm to other people," she said of her former son-in-law. "That was a dangerous person. And now we don't have to worry about him, but I feel like he was a coward. He took the easy way out. He didn't want to face the consequences of his actions."
Orange County, Calif., district attorney Tony Rackauckas said on "GMA" that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will continue to investigate, but his office is "very confident that we know who the killer is. All of the evidence points to Ryan Jenkins without any question. He's the killer here, he's the sole perpetrator of this killing."
While I might have joked about giving Ryan Jenkins the death penalty, this guy really deserved to spend the rest of his life in prison. Or been forced to marry Megan Hauserman without a pre-nup. While she's ovulating. I'm cool either way.

Aug 23 2009Ryan Jenkins found dead in motel
By hanging himself in a motel room in Canada, VH1 reality star Ryan Alexander Jenkins has basically confessed to killing and mutilating his wife Jasmine Fiore. The AP reports:
Canadian police say fugitive murder suspect Ryan Jenkins has been found dead of an apparent suicide in a motel in British Columbia. Sgt. Duncan Pound of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police border integrity unit says police responded to a call about a dead person in Hope, east of Vancouver, and then called investigators who were part of the massive manhunt for Jenkins.
The real estate developer and reality show contestant was wanted in California on first-degree murder charges after the mutilated body of his ex-wife was found near Los Angeles.
Well, at least now we don't have to lie to the Canadians about not giving this guy the chair. (We totally were, hosers. Ha Ha!)
Thanks to Jamie Lee and everyone who kept an eye on the news while I sat on the couch watching True Blood and Mad Men like some sort of Greek God of Lethargy. Good lookin' out.
Aug 23 2009Megan Hauserman is 'devastated'
Megan Hauserman is deeply saddened by the cancellation of her show death of Jasmine Fiore at the hands of her one-time suitor Ryan Alexander Jenkins, according to People:
"Megan is devastated," a close friend tells PEOPLE. "She got to know Ryan through her show, and she is shocked and saddened by the week's events."
Ryan Jenkins, 32, was a finalist on the VH1 show that attempted to pair the aspiring "trophy wife" with a millionaire.
Even before he was charged, VH1 pulled the show off the air, and Hauserman can only follow developments with the rest of the world. "Right now Megan is taking comfort in her friends and keeping a close eye on news as this story unfolds," the friend says.
People also reports Jasmine was only able to be identified by the serial number on her breast implants which is exactly why I always suggest women should have them. Megan knows what I'm talking about. No one's calling her "Jane Doe" when they fish her out of a landfill. That's empowerment, ladies.

Aug 21 2009EXCLUSIVE: Megan Hauserman surrounded by ex-cons on reality show
After Ryan Jenkins, a contestant on VH1's Megan Wants a Millionaire, became a fugitive for murdering his stripper wife Jasmine Fiore, it was revealed he had a 2005 conviction for assaulting his girlfriend at the time. Obviously this raised questions about background checks for VH1 reality shows, and producers issued a statement that their vetting process is thorough. But not so much. An exclusive source to The Superficial reveals that the contestant known as "Audi" (above) isn't even rich and also has a criminal record:
I know for sure their vetting process is bogus. A local friend and barbershop owner, Audi of Central Ave Barbershop, (Central Ave Pawtucket RI), was on the show and is not a millionaire. He also has been to jail several times for selling drugs.
Of course, one has to ask what's the greater crime here: Allowing ex-cons on a dating show or letting Bret Michaels shoot reality spin-offs out of his penis? Personally, only one of these makes me fear the collapse of civilization, and it's not the bald guy up top. Unless that's really a picture of Bret after passing out in a tanning bed. (Dude, you forgot your wig.)
Aug 21 2009UPDATE: Ryan Jenkins charged with murder
Megan Wants a Millionaire contestant Ryan Jenkins has officially been charged with the murder/mutilation of his wife Jasmine Fiore (above.) New details reveal her teeth and fingers were missing when her body was found. People reports:
"Ryan Jenkins is an animal," said Robert Hasman, a former boyfriend of Fiore's. "What he has done to Jasmine is unspeakable."
Authorities believe Jenkins has fled to his native Canada, walking across the Washington state border.
Orange County District Attorney spokeswoman Farrah Emami tells PEOPLE that Jenkins would have to be apprehended and extradited for any trial to proceed. Emami also says there is no special circumstance attached to the charge that would make Jenkins eligible for the death penalty. Canada would therefore have no reason to resist extraditing Jenkins once he is captured, she says.
In the meantime, producers of Megan Hauserman's reality show, which has been yanked off the air, snapped into spin control and issued the following statement to TMZ:
"51Minds was not aware of Ryan Jenkins' record when it cast him on "Megan Wants a Millionaire." Obviously, if the company had been given a full picture of his background, he would never have been allowed on the show.
The company did have in place what it thought was a thorough vetting process that involved complete background checks by an outside company for all contestants on its shows. Clearly, the process did not work properly in this case."
Of course, everyone has known VH1's vetting process is less than thorough ever since they gave Bret Michaels a reality show that allowed him to spread hepatitis to truck stop strippers and single moms while pretending to not be bald. A crazed millionaire killer who's watched too much CSI was only a natural progression.
