Mar 26 2009Shawn Johnson's armed fan wanted to impregnate her

Crazed stalker Robert O'Ryan was arrested after he attempted to break on to the Dancing with the Stars set and kidnap 17-year-old Olympic medalist Shawn Johnson. The 34-year-old Florida man was armed and believed he was destined to impregnate Shawn, according to TMZ:

According to documents filed by Johnson, "The LAPD searched [O'Ryan's] vehicle and located a loaded .45 handgun, a loaded shotgun, and materials classically used for kidnapping including duct tape, zip ties, and a map to the victim. Also found were love letters, clippings and other information on the victim."
According to the documents, O'Ryan told police "He had packed all his belongings and permanently left Florida to drive out here to be with [Shawn Johnson], he believes that she speaks to him personally through the television set and through ESP and that they will have a child together, he stated he would be with her no matter what."

She speaks to him through the television via ESP. Wow. Why does nothing cool like that happen to me when I watch TV? All I ever see is Santa Claus stabbing celebs in the face then telling me to be a good boy this year. You know, normal shit.

Oct 29 2008Jennifer Hudson suspect should have been in jail the day of murders

1029_jennifer_hudson_bees_00.JPG

Wiliam Balfour, the prime suspect in the murders of actress/singer Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew, should have been in jail the day of the killings. He was stopped by police with crack in his car back in June which was a violation of his parole from a 1999 conviction for attempted murder and vehicular hijacking. He was instead allowed to go free, according to the AP:

On June 19, police pulled over Balfour's car after hearing gunshots in the area, according to the officers' report. They found a rock of cocaine in plain view on the driver's seat, the report stated. It had a street value of about $100.
A parole supervisor declined to issue a warrant to revoke Balfour's parole after the arrest, records show.
However, a felony arrest usually is sufficient reason for corrections officials to revoke parole, said Thomas Peters, a Chicago criminal defense attorney who represents parolees.

Even better, when a warrant was issued on Saturday for William's arrest they already had grounds for revoking his parole without even counting his suspected involvement in the murders:

The Illinois Department of Corrections issued a warrant for Balfour on Saturday for violating terms of his parole by possessing a weapon and failing to attend anger management counseling and a substance abuse program, according to his parole report.

While this is all Monday morning quarterbacking about a piss-poor parole system that goes on in every city, it's still the kind of scary shit that makes you think "Maybe I don't need groceries today" then hide under your bed eating old Saltines. On that note, NOM NOM NOM. Hey, I found the The Geekologie Writer's mom. How long have you been under here? Cracker?

Oct 27 2008CONFIRMED: Jennifer Hudson to ID nephew's body

Thumbnail image for 1026_julian_king_missing_01.jpg

Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson is at on her way to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office ID'ing the body that top FBI officials have told the AP they believe is her nephew 7-year-old Julian King. Meanwhile, the Chicago Tribune is reporting the boy was shot several times inside the SUV where his body was found. The suspect William Balfour's clothing is being tested for gunshot residue:

The body was found in the back seat of the white Chevrolet Suburban police were looking for in their search for 7-year-old Julian King, three days after Jennifer Hudson's mother and brother were found shot to death in the mother's house in Englewood.
Law enforcement sources said that the boy was shot multiple times in the back of the vehicle. Police are testing the clothing of a man in custody for gunshot residue.
It was found by a 75-year-old who lives on the block, John Louden. He said he has lived on the block for 18 years and worried about people selling drugs in the abandoned building behind it. He saw the SUV while walking his dog. After a double-take, he realized the license plate matched the one police were looking for.
"I didn't look in there. I didn't touch it. I knew it was a strange vehicle," Louden said. He said police showed up in about five minutes after his wife called them. They discovered the child inside. The body was removed and the SUV was towed away for evidence processing. "I feel bad about that baby," Louden said.
If the boy is identified as Julian King, it will confirm detectives' worst fears because a law enforcement source said bullet casings were found in the boy's room on Friday. But the source said they had not found other evidence of violence in the room.

The Tribune also revealed details about William Balfour's arrest who claims to be innocent. However, his girlfriend has already contradicted his alibi:

Balfour has denied involvement in the killings or the disappearance of the boy, law-enforcement sources said. But at some point, Balfour stopped talking to authorities, sources told the Tribune.
On Sunday morning, Balfour was transferred to a state facility after officials said he violated conditions of parole for a 1999 conviction for attempted murder. On Sunday, Illinois Department of Corrections spokeswoman Januari Smith said Balfour violated his parole because he is a suspect in the slayings and the boy's disappearance.
According to law-enforcement sources, Balfour's alibi the day of the killings has been contradicted by his girlfriend.

A press conference is scheduled within the next hour or so after the family ID's the body. I'll update this post once there's a confirmation.

UPDATE: Police have confirmed to the Hudson family that the body is Julian King, according to the Chicago Tribune. The family has just now arrived to the medical examiner's office and the delay is understandable. A recent report from TMZ says the boy was shot in the head. I mean, Jesus, as if this situation wasn't fucked enough. It's a shitty world out there, folks. Hug your kids today if you haven't already.

Oct 27 2008UPDATE: Jennifer Hudson's nephew's body reportedly found

God, I was hoping it wouldn't end like this: Authorities have found the body of a 7-year-old African-American child in a White Suburban that was owned by Jennifer Hudson's late brother. The SUV was believed to have been stolen by William Balfour and was reportedly the center of the domestic dispute that ended in the fatal shooting of Jason Hudson and his mother. TMZ reports:

The body was found inside a 1994 white Chevy Suburban. It is the same SUV owned by Jason Hudson, the murdered brother of Jennifer. Before his arrest, cops were looking for William Balfour, the suspect and estranged husband of Jennifer's sister. The license plate of the Suburban matches Jason's SUV.
The SUV was found a few miles from the area where cops arrested Balfour.
The SUV is now being towed from the scene. Unclear if the body is still at the scene. No ID so far.
Neighbors say the vehicle has been parked there since Saturday. Balfour was arrested Friday night.
The SUV has been towed with the body still inside the vehicle. The SUV is now at a police garage in Chicago.

I don't want to get all talk radio on you guys, but I seriously hope they figure out who did this and throw the book at him. And by book I mean the electric chair. You have to have no fucking soul to kill a child. What the hell did he do to you? Just a terrible ending to a terrible series of events.

The Superficial's deepest, heartfelt condolences to the family of Jennifer Hudson.

UPDATE: Julian King's Amber Alert has been called off, according to TMZ. Not good.

Oct 26 2008Jennifer Hudson offers $100,000 reward for missing nephew

Jennifer Hudson is offering a $100,000 reward for the safe return of her 7-year-old nephew Julian King. He's been missing since the fatal shooting on Friday of Jennifer Hudson's mother and brother. The AP reports:

In a statement Sunday evening from publicist Lisa Kasteler, Jennifer Hudson appealed to the public for its help, offering the reward and asking that any information be given to Chicago police.
"Jennifer and her family appreciate the enormous amount of love, support and prayers they have received while she and her family try to cope with this tragedy and continue the search for Julian," the statement said.
Chicago police ramped up search efforts for Julian around the Englewood neighborhood, where Hudson grew up, and transferred custody of a "person of interest" in the killings to state authorities.
"Detectives are working 24 hours on this case," said Chicago police spokeswoman Monique Bond. "There's a lot of forensic evidence. We have to work the evidence and try and solve this case. Most importantly, we want to find the child."

Attached are the latest pics of Julian and what he was last seen wearing before he went missing. Authorities believe he's been taken across state lines, but the murder suspect in custody, William Balfour, is refusing to cooperate with law enforcement. The FBI is now involved with the investigation.

Oct 26 2008Barack Obama offers support to Jennifer Hudson, FBI joins search for missing nephew

Thumbnail image for 1026_jennifer_hudson_bees_00.JPG

Presidential candidate Barack Obama offered his condolences to his fellow Chicagoan Jennifer Hudson who he had personally selected to sing the National Anthem at the Democratic National Convention in August. The actress/singer's mother and brother were shot to death in their home while her 7-year-old nephew Julian King was kidnapped. He is still missing. E! News reports:

"Michelle and I were absolutely heartbroken to learn about this unimaginable tragedy, and we want Jennifer and to know that she is in our thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. We also pray for the swift and safe return of her young nephew."

The FBI has joined the search for Julian as authorities believe he's been taken across state lines. His mother, Jennifer Hudson's sister Julia who was believed to be missing as well, gave a press conference last night pleading for the return of her son:

"I know he's out there. Just let him go," Julia Hudson pleaded from the podium of the Pleasant Gift Missionary Baptist Church. The boy's father, Greg King, stood by her side during the emotional address.
"My greatest fear has already happened," she continued. "My greatest hope is finding my child."

The Superficial continues to hope for his safe return.

Oct 25 2008Jennifer Hudson's 7-year-old nephew still missing

1025_julian_king_ap_00.jpg

Jennifer Hudson's 7-year-old nephew Julian King (above) is still missing after a fatal shooting that left the mother and brother of the Oscar-winning actress dead in their Chicago home. A suspect, William Balfour, has been arrested and reportedly was married to Julian's mother (Jennifer's sister) at one point. She is also believed to be missing. The AP reports:

Records from the Illinois Department of Corrections show Balfour, 27, is on parole and spent nearly seven years in prison for attempted murder, vehicular hijacking and possessing a stolen vehicle. Public records show one of Balfour's addresses as the home where Donerson and Jason Hudson were shot.
The Cook County medical examiner's office said autopsies for Donerson and Jason Hudson were pending.
Balfour's mother, Michelle, said her son had been married to Hudson's sister, Julia, for several years, but they were separated. She also said Donerson had ordered him to move out of the family's home last winter.

Reports from neighbors say this is a domestic abuse situation that reached a boiling point and is basically a shitty deal all around. Hopefully, Julian's mother fled with him to safety, and there's a light at the end of this tunnel for Jennifer Hudson. Before I return to bashing celebs and penis jokes, scope out the pic of Julian above and, if you live in Chicago, give the police a holler if you know anything that could help.

Also, here's a link to Julian's Amber Alert case.
