Boy George (Real name: George O'Dowd) was sentenced to 15 months in jail today for falsely imprisoning a male escort in April 2007, according to the AP:
The singer had been convicted in December of handcuffing Norwegian escort Audun Carlsen to a wall hook at his East London apartment. During the trial, prosecutors said Carlsen was held by O'Dowd for under an hour.
The singer denied the charge, saying he had restrained Carlsen with handcuffs while trying to figure out if a computer had been tampered with. Carlsen, 29, said O'Dowd swung at him with a metal chain as he ran from the apartment after a naked photo shoot.
Boy George's lawyer argued that George was whacked out of his mind on drugs and "was not himself" during the incident which, obviously, turned out to be the shittiest legal defense imaginable.

Dec 5 2008O.J. Simpson sentenced to 15 years in prison
O.J. Simpson just got slapped with 15 years in prison today for robbing a sports memorabilia collector in Vegas last year. The AP reports:
A broken O.J. Simpson has been sentenced to at least 15 years in prison for a Las Vegas hotel armed robbery by a judge who rejected his apology and said, "It was much more than stupidity."
Simpson stood stone-faced Friday when Judge Jackie Glass quickly rattled off his punishment after he pleaded with her that he didn't mean to steal from anybody when he tried to retrieve memorabilia.
He appeared ready to break down in tears as he told that he was "sorry and confused" before going into a rambling and emotional 5-minute declaration.
"I didn't want to steal anything from anyone ... I'm sorry, sorry," he said.
He added: "It's not like I killed anybody. Again."
After receiving his sentence, Simpson engaged in a heated discussion with his attorney that ended with the football legend audibly shouting "What do you mean you 'forgot' my stabbing knife?"

Raffaello Follieri, the con-man ex-boyfriend of Anne Hathaway, was sentenced to 4 1/2 years in prison yesterday stemming from his guilty plea to 14 counts of wire fraud, money laundering and conspiracy. Raffaello had claimed he was a Chief Financial Officer for the Vatican and bilked real estate investors out of millions of dollars. People reports:
Through an interpreter, Follieri delivered a statement, in which he said, "The most important thing I want the court to know is I was not raised with bad values. … I started off with good intentions, determined to run an honorable business and make everyone proud of me."
But, he admitted, "What I did was wrong and there is no point in making excuses. … I will never be able to wash away the shame. … I just hope that someday those who have been hurt by my actions will forgive me."
Wait. Why the hell did Raffaello need an interpreter? He dated Anne Hathway for years and you're telling me the guy doesn't speak English. Jesus. How does that even work?
ANNE: Raffaello, what you just tried to do requires consent from your lover first. You don't want to surprise a lady with that, uh, kind of entrance.
RAFFAELLO: What if I a-show you a, how you say, photographs, of me with-a the pope-a?
ANNE: You showed me those when you left the toilet seat up.
RAFFAELLO: I'm-a so sorry. I no speak-a the English.
ANNE: But you've worked in a New York City real estate office for years.

Photos of Nick Hogan being greeted outside of Pinellas County jail by his sister Brooke just started popping up, and this looks like a touching reunion. And by touching reunion I mean their children are going to have extra limbs.

Anne Hathway's con-man ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri is seeking leniency in his federal case for conspiracy and wire fraud. However, prosecutors (and I'm sure the defense also) we're surprised when Raffaello sent the judge pictures of himself with the pope and other high-ranking priests, according to the AP:
They urged the judge Thursday to impose the more than four years in prison that Raffaello Follieri agreed to when he entered a guilty plea last month rather than the three years his defense lawyers requested in a recent submission of their own.
The prosecutors said Follieri included pictures of the pope and other clergymen even though his claims of Vatican ties were the foundation of his fraud.
"This is surprising because Follieri used these same photographs and connections in order to defraud investors and now seeks to use them in an effort to obtain a reduced sentence," they said.
Wow. What a fucking idiot. Seriously, that's like O.J. trying to prove his innocence by stabbing another wife: "See, your honor? I can't be the killer. Now would you mind hiding this knife for me?"
Oct 21 2008Nick Hogan released after 166 days in jail
Nick Hogan was released from Pinellas County jail early this morning after serving only 166 days in jail. He was sentenced to eight months for a felony charge of reckless driving that left his friend John Graziano in a permanent vegetative state. In the meantime, Nick's big sister Brooke couldn't wait for him to get out and blogged about it on her MySpace page yesterday. I'm going to assume she typed this with her chin because I'm awesome:
Hey you guys...as you all know, my brothers gettin out tomorrow...I cant even tell you, as a sister, how exciting this is for me! Nick and I are like best friends...and i cant believe how long Ive gone without him.... Not seeing him for 6 months has been really really hard. He always knows how to make me feel better or make me smile when I need it, and its been tough without having him there to hug me just at the right time, or crack a joke when im havin a bad day.
There have been a lot of supporters and a lot of haters that have come up to me and said things that have helped and things that made me feel like I couldn't make it through another day... Some people wish terrible terrible things on us and say the the most nasty comments that I can't even repeat on here... It really hurts. I understand people have their own opinion, but most of the people that come up to us don't know the whole story, or how much we really really love John. Its really sad, because were not bad people....were just going through a really hard time, and so is John's family. I feel sorry for the people who are misinformed because all they have to go off of is the media, which lets just face it, is NEVER a reliable source. Even the news, when that should be the most accurate...its probably the most far off. I didn't come on here to vent, and I know this still wont change peoples opinion or what they think about my family. But I know that you never really know, until you actually walk in someones shoes. And that goes in all directions. All I ask, is instead of making this harder, and putting evil things out there, you pray for John and for us, and leave words of inspiration. I know- like I know -like I know- John is gonna walk out of that hospital and things will be ok again. I know his strength and I know he can do it with our prayers...... To all the people who have been supportive- It has helped MORE than you will ever know. I can not thank you enough.....Please pray for my brothers safety too... this is a really tough time he has gone through and I know all he wants to do is show you, John and his family how much he cares and understands.
ok. Back to the happy stuff! .......I just can't wait to see my Nicky! Im gonna make him every kind of food you can possibly think of! Hes been living on bread an potatoes so far and I know some mac'n'cheese is gonna hit the spot! LOL Thanks so much for listening and keep praying! Every day will be better and better and better. Oct 6 2008O.J. Simpson convicted of robbery, kidnapping
So this is what it feels like to see O.J. Simpson get convicted of something. The Juice and his accomplice Clarence "C.J." Stewart were both found guilty of robbery and kidnapping after they targeted a group of Las Vegas sports memorabilia collectors in Vegas. The AP reports:
Both Simpson, 61, and Stewart, 54, face mandatory minimum sentences of five years behind bars and could be sentenced to life in prison.
The star-athlete-turned-actor appeared somber and emotional as the verdict was read late on Friday night, and winced as he was handcuffed by marshals and led from the courtroom into a holding cell.
I think it's safe to say that, no matter what the charges were, O.J. Simpson was going to jail. Jaywalking? Life with no parole. DUI? The chair. Murdering Heidi Montag? ... Two to three years with time off for good behavior.

Nick Hogan is getting three months knocked off his jail sentence and will be a free man before Halloween. He was serving eight months after a car accident that left his best friend John Graziano in a coma with a massive hole in his head. TMZ reports:
Nick's being released from Pinellas County Jail on Oct. 21, three months short of the eight-month sentence he got for felony reckless driving. His early release is for good behavior.
Well, I'm sure Nick's learned his lesson. In fact, the next time he drag races drunk, he's totally making his passenger wear a seat belt.
