Melissa Joan Hart has issued an apology to Farrah Fawcett after it was reported she wanted Farrah to stay alive only so Melissa could remain on the cover of People. Via Just Jared:

The Sabrina the Teenage Witch star writes, "It has come to my attention that something I said has been completely misconstrued in the press. I was merely explaining what I had read about how the cover of People magazine was chosen from an article last week I read in the Times. I truly hope that Farrah and her family know I wish them the best at this time in her life. And that I would never be so selfish to disrespect anyone, let alone someone I admire greatly."
Melissa continues, "Last week was an intense one for me in many regards. Not only for all the reasons that have been publicized for you like the magazine cover and the opening of our new shop. But mainly because my mother was admitted into the hospital and underwent an intense 8 hour surgery on a brain tumor. All of my 6 siblings and I gathered at my house and the hospital for the entire week to be strong for each other. She is out of the woods and on her way to recovery, luckily she is a good healer and has 7 children to lend a hand in times like these. Prayer is a big part of my life and it was very crucial last week for my mommy. I ask that you keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she fights her way to a full and wonderful recovery. I love you Mommy!!!"

So long story short, it's all Melissa's "mommy's" fault for getting a brain tumor. Classy.

Jun 3 2009Melissa Joan Hart is a selfless individual

Seen here at the opening of her new ice cream and candy store, Melissa Joan Hart appeared to be deeply concerned about Farrah Fawcett's health last week. But for reasons that would any vapid publicity hound proud. Page Six reports:

The former "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" star was overheard off-camera at KTLA in Los Angeles on Friday saying how she'd been hoping last week that cancer-stricken Farrah Fawcett wouldn't die -- and thus bump Hart off the cover of People magazine. Hart is on this week's cover posing in a bikini after recently losing 42 pounds.

Blatant narcissism aside, anyone else find it ironic that a woman who dropped 40 pounds is opening up a candy store complete with ice cream parlor? That's like a rehabilitated child molester saying "You know what? I should do magic for kids birthday parties." Okay, maybe that example was a bit extreme, but so is obesity. To the max.

May 27 2009Melissa Joan Hart in a bikini

Melissa Joan Hart shows off her new bikini body in the latest issue of People magazine and hopes it'll silence her critcs:

"Everyone still thinks I'm huge," says Hart, 33, whose post-pregnancy body was the subject of cruel Internet attacks after she gave birth to sons Mason, 3, and Braydon, 14 months, with husband, Course of Nature lead singer Mark Wilkerson, 32. "But I'm not anymore!"
Hart understands the confusion. After all, the public has grown accustomed to seeing celebs get back in their skinny jeans mere weeks after giving birth. "There are enormous pressures put on you in Hollywood," she says.

Yeah, Melissa Joan Hart, you tell that crazy Hollywood system. Nothing will show those jerks like posing in an airbrushed bikini photo on the cover of the largest circulated magazine out there thus perpetuating the same pressure that you yourself fell victim to. Well played.

Mar 13 2008Melissa Joan Hart still alive, popping out babies

Apparently Melissa Joan Hart gave birth to a baby boy named Braydon yesterday. It's the second child for her and her husband Bruce Babymaker. But Melissa wasn't entirely thrilled at the beginning of the pregnancy. But not for cool reasons like it was an alien or she found out her husband was secretly an ax murderer. Ok! Magazine reports:

Although the couple had planned on having another baby, Braydon came a little sooner than imagined and the 31-year-old former Sabrina, the Teenage Witch star admitted she wasn't completely excited when she learned of her pregnancy at first.
"I was thinking I won't get to snowboard this season, and now I gotta fight the weight thing again, the indigestion and the feet hurting," she said.

So when Clarissa was explaining it all she was really talking about birth control. This puts the show in a whole new light. Like when Sam would come crawling through the window he best be packing a rubber or else he'll get waterboarded by Clarissa's little Republican brother Ferguson. Damn, that's some topical stuff for a show that follows "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" I won't even get to the racial contexts on that one.

NOTE: My apologies to anyone who didn't watch Nickelodeon during the '90s. I want to say there's a light at the end of tunnel but there's not. There is, however, an Arby's.
