Suri Cruise is going to Catholic school?
Despite the lack of curriculum focusing on Xenu's many death rays, Katie Holmes has enrolled Suri in a Catholic school in Boston, according to the Daily Mail:
The family are living in the city while Tom, 47, films his new movie, the spy comedy thriller Wichita. Katie's mother also flew in for her granddaughter's first week at the pre-school. 'Katie has been listening to her parents who are devout Catholics,' I'm told.
'She is not convinced by Scientology and has told Tom that she wants Suri to be educated as a Catholic - as she was. They had been having huge problems agreeing on her school. To say they were having arguments is putting it mildly - but Tom came around to the idea in the end.'
Holmes, 30, has not been seen at the Church of Scientology for more than five months.
Why in the E-meter would Tom Cruise agree to send Suri to a Catholic scho- oh, wait, there's young boys in uniforms there. Case closed.

Why is it that everyone is wearing coats and pants and Suri is wearing nothing but a little summer-time dress?

Why not enrol her in a catholic school, she will get the best education there.

Although, since others mention the sundress and starbucks... anyone notice that they have her in heels?
These people will do anything for a photo op. Maybe Katie's parents should have custody.

She never looks terribly happy does she? I was always under the impression that children spent their early years playing with big grins of their faces.
Secondly, why is she wearing HEELS???
Oh, and thirdly, she's hugging that Starbuck cup to keep warm, frigging parents should buy her a coat or summat.

Forget the underdressing -- it's the heels on a four-year-old that's the real story of class and dignity here. Though I suppose they're like a training potty for the self-respect shitter Catholic school's going to splash up on to her kilt-wearing ass soon enough. Poor kid. I guess they're going with the lesser of evils here.

WTF? a 3 yr old in high heels? Where are her clothes? It's freakin cold in the northeast right now. Why is he carrying her jacket, and why does a 3 year old need a security blanket wherever she goes. Oh and where are her clothes? That looks like a summer nightgown. Looks like this kid is a major brat that tells her parents what to do.

The catholic church is a haven for closeted gays and social outcasts. Any woman who supports this church should bend over so we can also give her a good kick in the ass, just like the Catholic church.
20. Sickitten - October 13, 2009 12:05 PM
The Catholic religion is for 3rd world people who don't know any better. Anyone with an education would see this church for what it really is.

So they're dismissing the belief in the alien galactic lord Xenu and opting for the belief in an invisible man in the sky? Both are sound choices to me.
No way could she go to a normal school, that would just be WEIRD, right?

Calm down people. Tom Cruise has mentioned before that Suri hates wearing jackets and coats and always takes it off. Kids are weird like that. Anyways he is carrying two coats for her.

It's great to see celebrities out and about in the world and blending in perfectly with those around them. Although Tom and Katie are well known for their roles on the big screen, they look more down to earth in these pictures, enjoying what the day has to offer with their beautiful little daughter Suri.

Great.. Another season of cold weather is upon us and once again we get to be inspired by countless pictures of this poor-little-rich-girl. Who apparently has no sense of cold, because she's wearing a thin, short and bare dress among a group of bundled-up adults.
These two have much more to worry about than which school to send her to.
32. Tommy T. - October 13, 2009 1:09 PM

34. Amber - October 13, 2009 1:34 PM
She really is adorable, almost looks like a doll. I partially agree with #33, I don't think a three year old should be wearing heels in public, but every little girl like to put on mommy's shoes and lipstick, just for fun. Granted, those aren't mommy's shoes...
35. your lord and savior - October 13, 2009 1:45 PM
A lot of people don't realize that we almost didn't have:
"By the Power of Greyskull!"
The inventor of scientology - Elron Hubbard, almost used it as part of his Xenu crap. If he'd taken that call to arms back when he made up his religion the He-Man woulda been shouting something completely different.
of course catholocism is made up too. they just don't have a battle cry. Unless of course you count - It's a Jew! Get 'im! String him up!
36. Sad - October 13, 2009 1:50 PM
She is an adorable little girl. Too bad she had the misfortune of having the craziest dad of all time. Wow, I am so shocked that they are having arguments about her education. wtf did you expect, Katie?
And I agree with the comments about her attire. She seems under-dressed for the weather.

NOT a shocker that a little girl wants to wear heels and a dress. They are obviously childrens shoes so what is the big deal? and if she was cold, I doubt she would be walking around suffering, she could wear the jacket her father is carrying. Over react much?!

44. isitin - October 13, 2009 2:31 PM
Anyone knocking the Catholic School system knows nothing about good schooling, so shut the fuck up.
45. Alexandra - October 13, 2009 2:32 PM
When I was a kid I had dress-up heels. Granted they were plastic and looked cheap, but I would still wear them out. So I don't see what the big deal is here. But even though she is a little kid and has a habit of taking off her coat, she needs to be wearing one here. Put a coat on her and button it up nicely so she cannot take it off so easily. I agree with Scooby, you pick your battles when you're a parent. But she certainly needs to be wearing a coat. If she were my 3 year-old, she would be in a coat no matter how pissy she got about it.
46. Max Planck - October 13, 2009 2:46 PM

48. Stephanie - October 13, 2009 2:58 PM
Scientology or Catholicism...either way she'll be educated in a mythical religion. Why can't they just start her on a foreign language and basic social and everyday skills that she needs to be a thinking functioning person who recognizes reason instead of instilling in her a fear of where she might go when she dies if she doesn't do what certain people say? There is no love in fear.

I don't see this marriage lasting. There is little chance Cruise is going to tolerate having a wife and child who doesn't share his beliefs for very long.
@ 21
"So they're dismissing the belief in the alien galactic lord Xenu and opting for the belief in an invisible man in the sky?"
I don't know a single grown-up Christian who believes God is literally a person living in the skies. The depiction of God as a large, older man is an artistic representation chosen by artists because older men have traditionally been leaders in their communities. It's symbolism.
53. michelle - October 13, 2009 4:30 PM

54. Richard McBeef - October 13, 2009 4:52 PM
@52 - Just because your grown-up god isn't a literal person living in the sky doesn't make it any less bullshit than lord xenu.
Shit at least scientology is just a scheme to collect your money to make people rich rather than a scheme to collect your money and use it to sponsor fuckin cho-mo's

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS SUCK!
Anybody who knows anything about religion knows that catholisicm
is the most contradictory, uneducated and ignoring-of-the-facts
religion there is.
I went to a catholic high school for the last two years (just so that
I could say how truly terrible it is without not knowing the facts)
and oh my god, those kids are brainwashed. Go ahead and screw
that child up even more than she already is.

62. Sarah - October 13, 2009 7:38 PM

63. freekity geek - October 13, 2009 8:05 PM
Why is John Meyer babysitting Suri? Oh no wait, that's Katie!
The heels are a bit much. If you don't buy 'em, they can't wear 'em. Just sayin. I don't think Tom and Katie have much of a clue about parenting. They are so spaced out, they don't know which way is up. I am glad they're sending Suri to Catholic School-- I hope they can teach her some sense there. At least Katie had the smarts to send her to a proper school!

67. EK - October 13, 2009 9:30 PM
She should be wearing pants if it's cold enough for a sweater. She could wear that dress over jeans if she's set on it. My son is just a little younger than she is. He hated wearing coats and hats too, but you just make them wear one. They eventually give in to it.
68. isitin - October 13, 2009 10:09 PM

73. zuzuspetals - October 13, 2009 11:52 PM
Wearing high-heeled shoes is going to fuck up that child's feet, leg muscles, and hips- at least. Katie Holmes is a fucking idiot for letting her wear those.
74. joy - October 13, 2009 11:54 PM
This kid is wearing very sensible HIGH HEELS!!! And a very sensible little summer dress...while her very stupid parents are bundled up in boots and long sleeves and scarves. Is she just like a cute little toy poodle that they drag around to "OOOHS" and "AHHHS"? Wait til she is a teenager and tells them to go **** themselves.
75. Vivi - October 14, 2009 12:58 AM
I have 5 year old twin girls, and nothing is more of a struggle than getting our girls to wear pants when it gets cold. They want their dresses, especially their summer dresses, and getting them to dress appropriately in colder weather is harder than understanding the weather in the Midwest.
Suri seems as if she could use a dose of Catholic school. She needs a sense of boundaries.
Tom and Katie need to get a handle on the child -- they are the parents and are in control. Or that child is going to grow up resentful and spoiled and not know any limits -- oh, wait ...
76. CMP - October 14, 2009 1:45 AM
People forget Tom also attended Catholic school - it's always occurred to me that experience is one key thing he and Katie have in common, all the Scientology nonsense notwithstanding. Makes sense they might want that for their daughter.
Suri is a cutie, all right.
77. cartouche d'encre - October 14, 2009 3:23 AM
I totally agree with Katie on this one. She has been raised as a catholic because thats what she and her parents belive in, and she has probably always wanted to send her children to cathloic school. Im not saying that Tom is crazy for believeing in scientology because i dont really know much about it. I just think that Katie should be allowed to follow her beliefs and if she wants that for Suri too then thats what she should do.
78. Ein - October 14, 2009 7:20 AM
Phew this is great. I hope the little girl someday makes her parents stop being dumbasses and quit that scientology.
79. Andie - October 14, 2009 8:27 AM
I dunno about other moms, but if it's cold and my kid doesn't want to wear a coat, I MAKE him. And he's 14, MUCH harder to make him do things now than when he was three. My daughter loves her coat and wears it all the time, even in the house.
I am very glad she's going to a Catholic school. I'm not Catholic, but they do have good schools and at least she's going to learn a mainstream religion that is socially accepted and the world at large recognizes as an actual religion. Not a fairy tale religion based on a book that you find in the FICTION section of your local library.
Catholicism was good enough for Katie, and it's good enough for her daughter. Go, Katie! Way to stick to your guns and do what you know in your heart is right for your family! This is great news. It warms my heart.

85. Pixie - October 14, 2009 12:22 PM
Cute kid! Heels on a 3 yr old that is insane! Not wearing clothes that fit the weather, her parents are f'd in the head!!! The ppl that keep saying it's hard to get kids to wear what u want them to are obviously too stupid to MAKE their kids wear what they should! My child wears what I tell her cuz I am the parent, not her!!! Poor Suri, she doesn't have a chance...she's gonna be screwed up like her parents and most of the other celebs and their kids.

87. Georgia Girl - October 14, 2009 12:57 PM
Another winter where poor Suri wears thin summer dresses but as everyone has pointed out that mom and dad are bundled up. It is sickening. I dont care what the child doesnt want to wear, it is up to the parents to take care of that child! If the parents are bundled up, then they should bundle up that stick thin pale child also. I have five children so I know what I am talking about. Someone needs to call protective services.

KATIE AND TOM, YOU ARE THE PARENTS! THIS KID NEEDS TO WEAR AGE APPORIATE FOOTWEAR, NEVERMIND THE FACT THAT IT APPEARS TO BE CHILLY AND SHE AS USUAL IS IN A SUMMER DRESS WITH NO JACKET,SWEATER NOTHING! IF SHE DOES NOT LIKE JEANS PUT SOME LITTLE LEGGINGS OR KNIT PANTS ON HER AND AT LEAST A LONG SLEEVE SHIRT,ITS FREAKING NOVEMBER!!!!! ALSO WOULD IT HURT TO COMB HER HAIR AND PUT A BOW OR CLIP OR SOMETHING IN IT. SHE SHOULD ALSO NOT BE SUCKING ON A BOTTLE AS RECENTLY REPORTED OR A STARBUCKS CUP!!SHE IS THE CHILD! YOU ARE THE GROWN-UPS! ITS CALLED DISCIPLINE AND PARENTING!
