Oct 25 2009Balloon Boy's mom admits it was a hoax

In an affidavit released Friday, it's been revealed that Balloon Boy's mom Mayumi had informed the police the entire fiasco was planned two weeks in advance and was, as everyone suspected, a publicity stunt to land a reality show deal. This information is what allowed to authorities to obtain a search warrant for the Heene residence.
In the meantime, Richard Heene has refused to admit it was a hoax until the gecko in the backyard agrees not to launch a lizard revolution to steal our precious man-cheese.

Poor kid... it'll be another 10 years before he is even old enough to understand what the hell happened to him these last few days.

Hmm. Perhaps if he builds a giant wooden badger...
5. Truth Doctor - October 25, 2009 8:27 PM
Who the fuck cares?
I'd rather eat out Paris Hilton then hear about this. I wish the media would learn this, but they're too goddamn stupid.
6. Mama Pinkus - October 25, 2009 8:44 PM
scary that both parents thought this was a good idea - sad for those kids
7. smadgie - October 25, 2009 8:50 PM
Mom tossed Dad under the bus to avoid jail. Daddy better invent a lawyer to get his ass outta this one. Too many people are pissed and want someone to pay.
8. Jamie Lynn's Uterus - October 25, 2009 9:18 PM
This kid looks like a crazed mutant devil. The parents should be jailed and these children taken to a mental institution for further analysis.
9. titsonsnack - October 25, 2009 9:33 PM
I feel like I am the only one who doesn't understand the logic behind this master plan. How does floating a balloon and faking like your kid is inside it get you a reality TV program?

@5 We care because the family that wasted the time and money of the state of Colorado, is finally going to be brought to justice.
@9 Because there are idiots out there who would watch it.
11. JungleRed - October 25, 2009 9:50 PM
When will they throw Heene and his doormat Asian wife in jail and out of the public eye? Then maybe Spock, Jr. and his brothers can get a brand new mom and dad. One's that aren't actively trying to raise criminal sociopaths.
12. Rupert - October 25, 2009 9:55 PM
YOU MEAN A JAPANESE PERSON CAVED TO AUTHORITY??? SHOCKING. ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING.
13. MrChips - October 25, 2009 9:56 PM
Hey Falcon, how many years is your dad gonna spend in the Colorado state penitentiary?
14. Rupert - October 25, 2009 9:58 PM
10: It's a good thing coverage is limited to Colorado then because their government totally wouldn't've taken care of this on their own and needs Nancy Grace to really get to the bottom of things for them.

The little nipper (no pun intended. Oh, hell, maybe just a little) is better off with total strangers raising him.
17. Pet Society Help - October 25, 2009 11:38 PM
The parents can now make a reality show about being parents sentenced to 20 years in prison.
18. Rash Dripcock - October 26, 2009 12:04 AM
@9
are you kidding? you really don't get this?
ok, the original idea was that this was to be portrayed as the nutty hijinks of an endearing rapscallioon ("balloon boy", hiding, pretending to be in the balloon to alledgedly freak out his nutty professor-type dad, as a prank on the kid's part) and hilarity was to ensue when the "truth" came out (kid found in hiding, dad slaps his forehead and says "gawrsh") with a charmed population ending up highly desirous of a "Heene Family Holiday Special" on ABC or somesuch. dig? it was actually a fake of a prank.
have you never seen America's Funniest Home Videos? Watch it sometime to get an idea of just how ham-handed your typical American is when he's trying to be "accidentally" funny...
19. OctomomlovesJon eeewww - October 26, 2009 12:50 AM
I think the original idea was to hope we would turn in to see this mutant freak of a child fall out of the balloon and go splat. It would be like the japanese version of Cirque de Sole except with blood and stuff. I'd buy that for a dollar !!!!
20. jeux wii - October 26, 2009 1:16 AM
I'm so sick of hearing about this child that I refuse to refer to him by his "proper" nickname any longer. I henceforth dub him Dirigible Kid
21. BEAM - October 26, 2009 1:26 AM
@10... "@9 Because there are idiots out there who would watch it."
Which is why we WILL eventually have a Balloon Boy TV show anyway. The focus will be different than Heene originally planned but he's obviously willing to do anything to be on TV, even it means being portrayed as mentally abusive father, etc.
22. Patrick Bateman - October 26, 2009 2:17 AM
Typical American trash bags trying to take advantage of others in order to make money.... sad people, sad nation.
23. Get Cost-Effective Web Hosting - October 26, 2009 4:41 AM
the science detective theme song is pretty catchy. search it on youtube or something.
24. zbyram - October 26, 2009 5:12 AM
Actually, they should still make a reality show with the dad but twist it a little. The theme would be something like: an adorable crazy scientist in prison, surrounded by mean criminals.
The camera would follow him everywhere, obviously, and we could even glimpse him getting pounded in the shower.
That's a lot of potential, you just know it would have better ratings than his lame idea for a show.
25. Gary - October 26, 2009 7:47 AM
Hey, Patrick Bateman, go fuck yourself.
Why don't you tell us which wonderful nation you are from? I guarantee it's a huge shithole.
26. scrunt - October 26, 2009 8:11 AM
Once the parents are out of the picture, maybe Angelina Jolie can add those kids to her collection.

28. Jim Lahey - October 26, 2009 8:33 AM
THey should have threw this ugly little runt off the canon. That would have been quality TV.
29. Nameless - October 26, 2009 8:38 AM
Dad and mom should go to jail long enough to become irrevelant again. Couple years would be nice.
I wonder if the kids will be so eager to drop f-bombs and act like little bad ass bastards in juvenile detention. If the kids act like they did in Wife Swap or their youtube video, I think think they'll step right into a proper ass whoopin'.
30. Toni - October 26, 2009 8:43 AM
@25 yeah douchbag so any country that's not the United States has gotta be a shithole??
The United States is fucked. The only reason this family did this is because of the state of your society. why bitch about them, its American media and its viewers that created all of this.
Geeez why would they think up such an evil scheme to trick us all?? I WONDER WHY!? Because it works! You have too many stupid fucking reality shows creating useless celebrities that's unfortunately spilled over into most of the rest of the world.
You probably can't even see how insane it is from the inside.
31. stupidass - October 26, 2009 9:48 AM
fuck these people.
and that poor little kid....he was physically sick on TV, and i'm pretty sure it was just the result of guilt. kids can't deal with the pressue of living a big lie like that. assholes.
32. BEAM - October 26, 2009 12:25 PM

If your not from the United States and your reading this then FUCK YOU. Please remember that FUCK YOU means exactly that. Don't bring a friend to fuck just FUCK YOU. If this is a problem for you then teach your children that they are FUCKED TOO.
34. Spooge - October 26, 2009 4:05 PM
Well duh… the guys dad gave it away with his reaction to the kids confession on tv.
35. Rhialto - October 26, 2009 6:19 PM

37. ha ha - October 26, 2009 7:34 PM
americans really blow their top at all the wrong things. all you have to do is say "america sucks" and their ears start doing that kettle-whistle thing. the rest of the time they're content to just sit on the couch and watch their nation turn into more and more of a steaming pile and not say or do a damn thing.
38. Toni - October 26, 2009 8:21 PM
I never said I wasn't a hypocrite! at least I know it.
The icing on the cake will be that they'll actually get their reality show at the end of all this.

One of my favorite sites did a story on the hoax that sums it all up in a funny way. If you're not sick of reading on this, check it out:
