The market will play a role in what punishment Kayne receives. Different genre and reasoning but the Dixie Chicks opened their mouths one too many time, spouted off in a way that alienated their fan base, and country radio essentially banned them for about 2 years. Those girls never fully recovered their place in the market - so the notion that free speech is only as free and the subsequent consequences allow will apply here as well.

It was something like, some news correspondence overheard something thru one of those ear phones that sounded like Obama saying Kanye's a jackass, and then decided to flash it all over the news as if it was a story. And I'll bet that's what happened. It's like how Leeann Rimes and that dude she left her husband for were outed by one of those shows like ET or something b/c they met outside and then went to eat, and the show got hold of the shitty-quality video. Obviously, sites like this/shows like that want to make stories that'll sell even if it ruins a life b/c it means $$$ and that's what they run on. It's shitty but it's true... Anyway, Kanye definitely shouldn't have done what he did.
