Schools are off-limits to firearms, though so is any location where the president is. The people with the firearms were at an entirely separate location set up for public viewing down the street.

If you want a handgun, you have to jump a larger pile and belong to a gun club. You also have to have it locked in your trunk, in a locked case with the ammo seperate at all times for travel to and from the club. It has to be locked in a cabinet at all times when in the home. A handgun is for shooting people so the practical use for one is hard to fathom....unless you are scared all the time and feel you need to protect yourself. If that is the case, then you should consider the fucked up environment you live in and vote for stricter laws. Equating gun ownership (the right to bear arms) to freedom is neolithic at best.
