The thing is, why would you mix up "then" and "than" if you learned English from a different language? Those two words are one letter away from being the other, but that is only in English. Certain other languages would have completely different words for "then" and "than" which wouldn't look similar to each other in the least. You would really have to go out of your way to mix them up when translating to English from a different language. For example, in German the word "then" is "denn" and "than" is most often "als." If your first language was German, you wouldn't mix up then and than since they are conveying completely different things and are not spelled almost alike.

I agree that their punishments are disgusting practices, especially in this day and age. Why they have not evolved out of this is beyond me, as other religions have already done so (for the most part).

I don't think there is anything wrong with being homosexual myself. robert, in response to your earlier post, I gave her respect for having an opinion and sticking to it. I took back that respect when she pretty much instantly started trying to capitalize on it, doing it for money made it seem cheap.
Also, I don't know Robert Redford or Barbra Streisand, but I have met Tim Robbins a few times and he is an intelligent guy. Not sure why you think actors are stupid as a rule, just like everyone else, some are and some aren't. Also, Redford, Robbins and Streisand did not gain their fame by being controversial, they did it by making movies that millions of people wanted to see. Prejean would have been an also ran if she had not seized the opportunity to cash in her beliefs.

Actually, it wasn't because of the photos, Trump publically forgave her for that. It was because of one simple reason, she didn't live up to the terms of her contract. It has nothing to do with "freedom of speech". It is simple contract law. The government cannot restrict your freedom of speech. But there is no law that says that a corporation cannot fire you if you don't live up to the terms of your contract with them. And, she didn't.

Being The Donald, he probably had it written in the contract he could point a finger at you and go "YOU'RE FIRED!" if he just felt like it.
