Let's say Kate had selectively reduced the fetuses (which is common in these cases), making the family fairly unremarkable in the world of reality TV. Or, she could have determined this wasn't the most healthy situation for her family and canceled after one season. He still might have had to suffer, and would have ended up fat and dateless, in a studio apartment with a bottle of lotion by his bedside. He should be thankful for her craziness.

It is a shame that the two of them are splitting up (If they rally are) since they do have EIGHT children. They were both to blame. I don't think anyone should place more blame on one than the other. Even if you're having issues with the person you have a commitment with, there should be dialogue. If there is no dialogue then how is that person supposed to know that you are not happy. He clearly was not having an open dialogue with her. She on the other hand needed to let go of some of that control she had. She did like things her way all of the time, and after a pattern of being wrong much of the time, and rarely right it would be natural to have a hit to the confidence or self esteem.

I really do feel bad for Kate. I know she was a ball buster but no one deserves to be thrown away like that and humiliated in front of the whole world. Looks like Jon has pulled a Brad Pitt move. I would have liked to see her slap him upside the head now and then!!!I only recently started watching the show, but have been watching the reruns, and it seems that Kate does everything, from keeping the house neat, cooking 3 meals plus making & freezing meals for future meals, potty traing 8 toddlers, teaching them chores & responsibility (something Jon evidently didn't catch on to), sticking to a schedule...I could go on & on about the things that KATE did, but there isn't much that I can say about Jon's initiative! With 8 children, you have to be on your toes at all times, you have to be disciplined & discipline those children, and I see nothing wrong with her time outs, or an occasional smack on the bottom! Otherwise, you would have total chaos! They were always very well behaved when they were out in public, and in fact, just a week ago, Kate took her children to a wedding reception BY HERSELF, and the children sat like angels! I wonder how the paparazzi missed that one??? And what's the big deal about taking one child out alone now and then? I think that's a great idea for Mom & child! Some well deserved alone time for both!
Jon wanted to keep those babies as much as she did, and has a responsibility to stay and be a true father to them! Kate didn't make those babies alone, and she shouldn't have to raise them alone! It was Kate who wanted ONE more child and she got SIX. She treats Jon like a SERVANT ordering him around ALL the time or as if he were one of the kids, I have never seen a man help around the house as much as he has been doing. No matter what happened in the past, the show is over. Kate pushed Jon to far and he has reacted. They both have killed the goose that laid the Golden Egg. Jon is obviously going through a freak out about what the rest of his life is looking like and decided he needed to change things. Thing is, he did it without thinking it through. My husband totally flipped a few months before he deployed to Iraq, but he didn't go screwing around and didn't get the divorce in motion and guess what, he changed his mind right quick when it looked like I was moving on without him. Over 3 years later we are still married. Jon's gonna look back at this and see what most of the rest of the world can see, he was being an immature jackass. "KATE PLUS 10 AND COUNTING"

Jon and his skank Hailey move in with Kate and the kids, and Kate has to clean up after and take care of all of them. There could be situations like Jon passed out stoned/drunk in a pond of his own urine and feces, Hailey wearing Kates clothes and stretching them out because they're too small for her, Jon and Hailey fucking in Kates bed and passing out there for days, the kids playing in a snow drift in July, which turns out to be Haileys Cocaine-Diet supply.

Jon and Hailey are snorting fertility drugs, and Hailey gets knocked up with octuplets. That sets up the next season, where Kate has to take care of those too.

Also, during all this Kate has to run back and forth through an obstacle course to get to her family. The course could be similar to Most Extreme Elimination Challenge/Takeshi's Castle.
