May 24 2009Chris Brown making a country song? Sure.
Somehow I missed this bit of news because I'm so focused on the real issues, but Chris Brown is recording a country song and might enlist some of the genre's top talent to help out, according to MTV News:
"Maybe we'll see an appearance from Carrie Underwood or someone like that," said Robert Allen, a writer and producer who is currently working with the singer. "It's that kind of song." Allen further explained that the song is "just feeling like you don't want that dream to go away. Everybody has a dream and you're in it, but you wake up and you're like, 'Oh, my God.' You feel like you're still in that dream."
I have no idea what that guy just said, but let's see if Chris Brown meets the criteria to break into country music:
Born in the south? Check.
Arrested for domestic abuse? Check.
White? Awww....

From Charlie Pride to Darius Rucker, blacks have ALWAYS been welcome in country. The fact that they would rather grind than 2-step is a personal preference...

Country music sucks pretty bad as it is, how can he ruin it that much??

11. what? - May 24, 2009 3:14 PM
At least country music artists actually SING and have the ability to construct actual music. Unlike rappers who give themselves dumbass names and grunt over drum machines and overblown bass lines.

re:Dirk the Impailer
Charlie Pride, Darius Rucker and cowboy troy - thats about it. I listen to country music, and while the country music will take just about anyone, especially if they failed elsewhere (american idol, jessica simpson, little big town, jennifer from sugarland so on), they don't like blacks. its really that bad.
Darius Rucker has some success, but in country music, his songs and him, are white, poor guy. Chris is free to give it a try, and just to show you how messed up country music is, even if you beat girls, they'll let you in, as long as the songs are about being conservative christains. No lie.

@12-13 Lisa:
How is Virginia not in the South? It was one of the Confederate States of America. Hello, birthplace of Robert E Lee, and from whence he commanded the army once VA seceded from the Union? I am a Yankee, and even I know that!
You might be a redneck if you don't know yer jograffeee... lolololol
dumbass! ps: be honest, Lisa. Are you really Jessica Alba? OH SNAP!!!
25. Asta Charles - May 25, 2009 1:08 PM
I didn't read this post. I'm not gonna lie. All I know is that it looks like Chris Brown is singing into a dildo. That should make Rihanna feel slightly vindicated.
26. Dread not - May 25, 2009 1:39 PM
What's the name of that Merle Haggard song they talked about on, Family Guy? I Kissed My Sweetie With My Fist? Yeah, Chris Brown should cover that one!
27. Snazu - May 25, 2009 2:12 PM

28. Dirk the Impailer - May 25, 2009 5:03 PM
#18, re-read my earlier post. Like I said, blacks have always been welcome in country music. They have CHOSEN not to go that route.
Back in the 1980's and 1990's, I used to go C&W dancing a lot down here in Texas. There were always a lot of blacks that came to the clubs. It was just fun. Like me, it wasn't the only music we listened to, but the dancing was a lot of fun.
Blacks that CHOOSE to go into country music are always welcome, and even usually get a little "special treatment" since C&W likes that inclusiveness. But you can't force blacks to want to do country.
Heck, they just need to look at one of the all-time greats of country music, Mr. Ray Charles, to know what a great sound it is when you mix soul and country!!!!!

Carrie Underwood must be really pissed that her name just got attached to this steaming piece of crap. (Did I mean the song? or Chris Brown? I'll leave that for you to decide.)

33. Freekity geeek - May 26, 2009 12:00 PM
@29 Matt-- Were you and Lisa born in the same trailer? I bet you had the same mamas but diff'rnt daddies.
See my explanation @24 on just a small part of the reason "we" (as in U.S. citizens who DIDN'T sleep through history class) KNOW that Virginia is part of the south.
You might be a redneck if you repeat others' moronic musings in your posts.
@20 Joann, Thank you for trying to help educate America's youth, too. It's scary out there, no?
34. notsoanonymous - May 26, 2009 7:45 PM
Chris should listen to "Goodbye Earl" and think hard about hitting a woman again.
