As I said previously, of course the ideal is 50/50 but in most cases (especially when you are dealing with very wealthy clients) you have to compromise and you find yourself getting much less then when you ask for. This is what women have to deal with too and I doubt Mel's wife will get anything near what she asks (even though she invested 20 something year in the marriage) but you have to start high and start negotiating (that is why it is also a good idea for her to ask for child support too). You have no idea how many times my clients who going through divorces (mostly female) got near to nothing in their divorce settlements. Believe me, you are delusional if you think they have it better.
