Madonna just got extra screwed by Malawi. Turns out the father of the four-year-old girl she was trying to adopt has surfaced and wants to raise her. He assumed Mercy died with her mother, but thanks to Madonna's visit, he learned she's still alive. People reports:
The young man, James Kambewa, tells PEOPLE he didn't even know his daughter was alive until her name surfaced in the Madonna adoption case. Now a security guard, Kambewa says he learned the girl's mother, 15-year-old Mwandida Maunde, had died - and assumed their child was dead too.
"Now that I know [Mercy] is alive I am willing to support her," Kambewa says. He and Maunde were both high school students when they conceived the child. "Her parents were furious that I had messed up their daughter. They caused hell for me so I left town," says Kambewa.
Hey, these things happen, and I'm sure Madonna will take it like an adult. Not counting she's up on her roof with a giant black cauldron and a dragon. Besides that.

I am sure the girl will have a great chance at life now. Everyone bashes Madonna for adopting, can you imagine what kind of a life her kids have? Wtf is wrong with giving kids a chance to live the "American" dream? At least she's not Michael Jackson (it'll be interesting to see how fucked up HIS kids turn out- at least they will be able to get book deals when they are older). Her kids will get the best education and the best of everything! Now this kid is just going to end up another victim of poverty.

Wtf is wrong with her... she knows she is not supposed to get a kid from Malawi, and that the first one she got was pure luck and $ involved. There are plenty of countries with needy children. I can't help to think that all the drama and legal disputes she is causing is on purpose... get eyes on her, since her body is not going to do it anymore.

This is actually a real happy ending. It sucks for Madonna, but she did help reunite a family, and if it hadn't been for her they never would have found eachother.

I feel sorry for Madonna as she has been building a relationship with this girl now for two years. What a dick this father is though.. he just smells money! I mean surely if you heard that the pregnant girlfriend you deserted had died giving birth and you gave a damn you'd go check to see what happened to the baby? And as for the rest of the family that are against the adoption. If they were looking after her why the hell is she living in an orphanage? I hate people! I hope the judge actually does what is best for Mercy in the end. And when all is said and done she'd be better off with Madonna.
