This is the most satisfying news I have read on here in quite some time.

Just goes to show that celebreties aren't untouchable and their morals CAN be questioned. Here's hoping Mercy gets adopted by a much nicer and normal mum and dad, rather than leathery witch hag from hell.

Hmmm. While I can't stand Madonna, I do wonder if they would've been as concerned about a man's morality if he had been with a woman more than half his age and wanted to adopt.

We weigh morality very heavily in the adoption process. And by that, I mean the weight we give it is zero. If you can feed one of these kids and swat the flies away, well, christ, you're doing a hell of a lot better than we are.

It's a godless world whether you grow up as Madonna's adopted child or in Malawi. In Madonna's godless world there will be food, health care and a nanny. Since the kid will only be a fashion statement he/she will feel unloved in a filthy rich kind of way. I completely agree with #49. HOWEVER, it is usually VERY DIFFICULT to get in-vitro. My sister has been trying for years. You need to go on a long waiting list, pass tons of screening tests, USUALLY you must be married, and be in good mental standing. The costs are near $20,000 for one implant which may or may not work. There are also income requirements (more than people make where she lives).

The octo-mom's doctor is FAR from the norm. Too many doctor's are afraid of lawsuits to use common sense and let more women get the procedure done. The octo-mom has caused much more harm to my sister's cause from having an irresponsible doctor.

I am so pissed that octo-mom got the new house, celeb duds and shades, and the latte. Sure some people donated and taxpayers covered her ass. Keep in mind all the interviews she did which probably paid for most of it.

Despite all that, I wouldn't trade places with her for all the money in the world. She looks like a jackass in front of all the world. She, at least, "looks" like an Angelina wannabe with plastic nose and plastic bozo clown lips. am I not the only one who finds it ironic that a spokesperson from malawi is talking smack like that ? Malawi has one of the highest % of people with AIDs (not that having aids makes you a bad person) and has gone through many corruption scandals with its government. Madonna would be a better for any child who's alternative is living in a small hut.

But holy shit, DH&I did everything but give DNA -- home studies, physicians' reports, proof of a religious affiliation (we had to prove we were married in a CAtholic ceremony) reasons why we wanted to adopt from a foreign country, letters of support from our friends and siblings, provide 3 years worth of income tax statements, get screened by the Dept. of Homeland Security, have state, county and local police records (they must be clean) and be fingerprinted. That's before we were even approved to adopt from Poland.

Once we got to Poland, we got to meet our girls for a couple of hours every day. We could not take them off the orphanage property -- not even for a walk down the block. We had to make three trips to Poland -- it's a freaking 10 hour flight if we were lucky enough to get a non-stop flight -- and people from Europe shower like once a week. 60 hours of that on a plane and when we finally got to Warsaw, we were met with soldiers holding machine guns aimed at your head. Even if I had enough mental energy to process that image at that time, I don't think I would have believed what I saw. Luckily I was jet-lagged and sleep-deprived and had enough anti-anxiety medication in me that I was only capable of putting one foot in front of the other and presenting my passport.

Now everyone asks if we want to adopt again. If they knew the truth of what we went through to get our children from Poland, they would know that "Oh hell no" is not a statement bitterness, just not willing to fork out $40,000 and "gifts" for the orphanage officers, and log another 60 hours sitting next to smelly, unwashed Euro-trash.

@12: The reason kids don't get adopted from Denmark, Norway or Sweden is because those three countries have the highest rate of people who rated themselves as "happy" with their lives and have enough positive social structure to support one another instead acting like "Desperate Housewives". They're happy, they have a great government infrastructure to help them raise their children, good schools, from pre-school through college, they have good jobs, stable economies and take care of their own needs first instead of being war-mongering troglodykes like GWB.
