Both women and men can commit battery. The laws are not written just to address men offensively touching women but also women offensively touching men. I continue to reserve my opinion until all of the investigation is completed and at least good effort has been made to bring all the facts out. However, if it is determined that Rihanna initiated the battering for whatever reason it is my opinion that she should be punished too. If the American legal system allows women to batter men and expect no punishment then abuse of men will occur. I prefer to take logical approach to this matter remove the names and sexes and figure out who was the starting aggressive party. That is where to start when analyzing this unfortunate incident. I think it is important to be fair and hear both parties out in this case. Finally it has not been proven beyond a reasonable doubt that Chris Brown caused all Rihanna’s bruises. The bottom-line is anyone in America is presumed innocent until proven guilty. No verdict has been rendered. Further defenses can be asserted. Also it is very wise for Chris Brown to remain silent until he goes to court. It is not the media's nor the public's judgment that will determine whether he will remain a free man; it is the court's and thank goodness!

I honestly am the biggest chris brown fan there is! But i also dont condone woman beaters, so im really torn in this situation. I do realize that we're all human and we make mistakes. People may think just because he's a celebrity it's not possible that he could commit a crime or do no wrong for that matter. The only thing we know about these celebrities is what we see on tv, we think we feel connected to them personally through this but we really know as little about them as they know about everyone watching them. With that being said, chris brown should face the same consequences that any other American citizen would face and that's the bottom line.
