Jan 14 2009Ricardo Montalban dies at 88 (1920 - 2009)
Ricardo Montalban of Fantasy Island and Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan fame passed away today at his home in Beverly Hills. People reports:
His son-in-law Gilbert Smith tells PEOPLE that Montalban had been in declining health for months and died from "complications of advancing age."
"He was in peace," said Smith, who said that the actor was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. "He will be missed." Montalban was proceeded in death by one year by his wife of 63 years, Gorgiana Young, the younger sister of his frequent co-star Loretta Young.
"[She is] the only love of my life," the actor said in 2004.
What a classy, debonair guy. And I'm actually not being sarcastic for once.
Rest in Peace, Ricardo.

Fuck off and give up, #2, no one's ever going to your cheesy-ass site even if you bribe us with rich Corinthian leather and promise to send us a flash video of that dude being trampled at WalMart.
RIP, Ricardo - not for nothing, but you gave Star Trek one of the best villains it ever had. You even wore the fake chest well.

Wow, to think that it was Mr. Roarke and not Tattoo, the death of whom popped into my mind when I saw Richardo's pic. Lots of nice pre-teen-growing-up memories of this guy. And none of the sick shit baggage that comes with Cruise and the like. Obama where's my fucking check you tard!?

34. Patti Edwards Mira (St. Monica's High School) - January 14, 2009 11:15 PM
I went to school with Anita Montalban at St. Monica High School in Santa Monica. She was one year ahead of me and I remember her being such a sweet girl. She was not stuck up or even let on that she was the daughter of a famous celebrity. My heart goes out to you Anita.

Nice to see someone stayed committed to their partner for once instead of this getting married and divorced a million times. Never heard of this man though.
39. Margie - January 15, 2009 1:05 AM
Ricardo Montalban was a true gentleman, and a very classy man.
I went to school with his daughter Anita at Mt St Mary's College in the late 60's. She was one of the sweetest people I ever met, very down to earth and normal, despite coming from a celebrity family.
RIP Mr Montalban. You will be missed.

What a class act. I'm gonna miss him. He voiced a character named Gutierrez for the Freakazoid cartoon and even had the guts to lampoon himself.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111970/
Gutierrez: Because he tasks me! He *tasks* me! Around the moons of Vega, I chuckle at thee. Around the suns of Andromeda, I chuckle more at thee. Revenge is a dish best served with pinto beans and muffins! Kirk, oh, friend, I... Oh!

He's a role model for turning 62 (Wrath Of Khan). They said he wasn't faking, just didn't lay around eating mashed potatoes and snack cakes.
56. coffee - February 11, 2009 12:01 PM
Montalban epitomized the suave host image; and he did a great job in Wrath of Khan! he will be missed
