My thoughts: Madonna, like many other celebs, need to be reminded of what is 'age and body appropriate' sexy. She also needs to be reminded of what is sexy for HER, not for others. I remember that when the Sex Book came out, Madonna was a the peak of her career and age wise, appropriate for all out sex book. I recall that when I saw her in Evita, I thought THIS is the way to do sexy at 30/40 years. Same could be said for when she was doing the video Take a Bow and Bad Girl.

But now, I think Madonna forgot what is appropraite for a) her body and b) her age. She is very muscular, and not in the androgenous, hot way. She needs the camera to hit her soft angles. If you do nudes, take feminine poses and soft light. If she wants a harder, sexier look, she needs to cover up. Be it all white or all black, but more coverage. The pictures above would work well for someone like Angelina Jolie, Megan Fox or Demi Moore, who are by nature curvier and sensual and have a warm look. Madonna has a very 'cold' look, so a sexy look would be something that makes her look softer.

That's just my two cents on the issue. I do think that sadly, she looks terribly old in the last picture. She is not terribly old or terribly looking. But, the way the photo was taken and how the light hits her face, she looks horrible.

I like the untouched photos much better. Yes, no doubt she really is in fantastic shape for a 50 yeald old, but her raw photos perfectly highlight the absurdity of the image she is trying to project. I find them deliciously truth-filled. The woman is stuck in something that doesn't exist anymore, and frankly, it's sad. They remind me of a Francis Bacon painting. If she truly wanted to be irreverent, edgy, and authentically relevant, she would publish those photos. I think then we might see an arc in her career.

I've been sitting here reading everyone's comments. Yes, I agree it appears one person is posting multiple times under different names. The broken English (while I know we have many foreigner) and the way the sentences are wrote gives this person away. If it was just different foreigners they wouldn't all be saying the same thing, writing with the same style, ect. What really gives it ways is that they don't know how to use the space bar.

I think Madonna looks good for her age and all, but the clothes are unflattering to her body shape and the poses are ridiculous. I think it's great that she keeps herself healthy, but she is not 20 anymore. She can still push boundaries and show off her body, but she needs to do it in a different way. She just comes across as trashy grandmother material that you'd see on Jerry Springer. Now, with all of that said I respect Madonna and think she looks great for her age.

Another thing I do not understand is why people that like Madonna are putting down Britney Spears since Britney is a mini version of Madonna. Britney has always worshiped Madonna and tried (pretty successfully) to be like her. I know Britney had a crazy moment, but so has Madonna. Britney had a bad marriage, so did Madonna (Sean Penn)...Britney has fought to make a come back, she has been successful with that thus far and Madonna makes a comeback every decade.
