Why do so few people realize that those who are overweight and refuse to do anything are making us all suffer. The medical system is overloaded with people who are only sick because they treated their bodies like crap. How is that fair to those who are sick through no fault of their own? How many people die because the doctors have their hands full reviving Mr. I had a heart attack for the fifth time because I refuse to loose weight. We pay the taxes and we suffer the consequences. I have seen it myself over and over people who are seriously sick with very complex illnesses through no fault of their own, but who are slim are being put on the back burner or being misdiagnosed because 1. They look healthy so doctors don't worry and 2. The hospitals are swamped dealing with all the patients who ate their way there. I've worked with these people and 9 times out of ten they had all kinds of serious illnesses often cancers that were overlooked because they look healthy, it's shocking that even doctors are superficial. Think of all the kids who have cancer who are stuck in hospitals right now, so much more money and time could be focused on them if those who had the power to would just take care of themselves and not eat their way into serious illnesses.
The time, science and money that could be spent studying other illnesses and finding cures are spent trying to treat and find cures for obesity related illnesses. Obviously people who are overweight need help, but do any of them ever think about how much they are hurting others, why is it fair for them to not try hard. I know people with cancer and brain tumors who would do anything if they could just eat and exercise their way to good health.

I do understand that people who are overweight are miserable on the inside and berating them only pushes them to seek comfort in food, but so many friends and family members are pathetic enablers and instead of being upfront with their overweight family members they bake them cakes and give them chocolate and candy fro Christmas. Obesity kills. How fucking hard is that to understand? You are not helping those you care about by not being upfront with them. My husband and I are in great shape, but if either one of us lost that we would be up front with it and if one of us refused to work on it the other would have every right to feel disrespected. It is basically like saying I don't care to make an effort for this relationship. Why so many people let themselves go in relationships and then are surprised when it doesn't work out or someone cheats is beyond me. I do not remotely condone cheating, but physical attraction is a big part of a relationship and it's not only about that laziness is unattractive and when someone no longer makes an effort to take care of themselves they are basically saying I AM TAKING YOU FOR GRANTED.

I’m just sick of people ignoring medical science and trying to pass off being overweight as being curvy and womanly of course people come in different shapes and sizes but that truth can only be taken so far. Being overweight is not a shape a size it is not womanhood or curves it's a fucking medical condition. I'm not telling a smoker that he is really working his yellow teeth, so don't tell people they are working their extra pounds. Those extra pounds are dangerous.
