This ought to be really funny. Fey playing Palin and Palin mocking Tina Fey. I hope SNL does not blow this one. They probably will.

I'm sure they'll be nice to her, they always are when somebody makes the effort to do a cameo on the show. Also they want to try to avoid looking 100% partisan, for the advertisers.

That said, if ever there was an opportunity to play fake-nice and make a series of double-meaning jokes that go over the target's head, this is it. During their debate, Biden was much better than usual, which meant he was making mistakes and confusing facts and making stuff up to press his argument only about half the time. But here's the key point: Palin is so unknowledgeable, or so dumb, or both, that she didn't catch a single one of his misstatements and throw it back in Biden's face. Obama did that with ease through all of his debates with McCain, until McCain's attacking mode became so ineffective that he started to lose his patience and temper and looked like a very irritable cranky old man. Maybe not Dumb and Dumber, but Slow (McCain) and Slower (Palin). Personally, I think she had Trig only because she wanted to make sure she was smarter than at least one person in the family. But in a few years it'll be close...

Pretty disappointing news, actually. There was so much for Tina Fey to work with this week, between Palin's lynch-mob rallying cries and her jaw-dropping denial that the Troopergate report had cleared her of "any hint" of unethical behavior (the opposite conclusion is on the top of the first page of the report). But they'll be restrained and I'm guessing they'll allow Palin to get in a few unchallenged partisan lines. The "fair" part of fair and balanced means you compare the answers of both candidates to the question that was asked, not that you take your nonpreferred candidate's actual response, delete your preferred candidate's panicky meandering nonsense, and then cut-and-paste what she said to an unrelated earlier question (essentially, "you both said being VP was a trivial job, why do you want it now?") to make her look better. When she was asked a follow-up question, asking her if she would follow Cheney in trying to blur the limits between the branches of government as vice president, she clearly was lost. As always with Palin, she performs her prepared statements very well (obviously she had been prepped to describe a Cheney-type role if asked what she would do as VP) but has very little grasp of the fundamentals (if you look at the constitution instead of trying to mimic Cheney, what do you think the VP's role should be).

From the exchange, I drew the conclusion that Biden is smart but frequently confuses his facts, as he's done his whole career, and Palin knows NOTHING except the things the McCain campaign has her rehearse. Hence her failure - always - on follow-up questions in any format (interviews or debate), and her inability to correct even one of Biden's many factual gaffes. In a meeting in the White House with smart aggressive people, she'd be lost. Why do you think she's had Todd at her side while attempting to perform her duties as governor, even at closed-door cabinet meetings? She's still using training wheels. · As Mayor of Wasilla, Palin hired Steven Silver – a partner in a private lobbying firm in Anchorage -- to lobby for $23 million in federal earmarks for the Town of Wasilla (6,000 residents). Steven Silver was a former chief of staff to none other than Sen. Ted Stevens. Ted’s son, Ben Stevens, was also hired by the Anchorage firm as a federal lobbyist in the 1990’s. Silver was also alleged to have direct ties with lobbyist, Jack Abramoff, who is now serving a prison term for the tribes-and-bribes scandal. U.S. Sen. Ted Stevens was indicted in July on seven counts of felony charges; he is a long-time member of Alaska’s Republican machine. When running for Lt. Governor in 2001, Palin took substantial campaign contributions from convicted criminal and VECO founder, Bill Allen, and VECO employees. Allen is the man who U.S. Sen. Ted Stevens allegedly took gifts from; Allen pleaded guilty to bribery and corruption charges in 2007. (Note: According to two VECO employees, Palin allegedly visited Allen in his home to discuss plans for her future in 2001, before the corruption scandal broke. We have no way of knowing if these visits actually occurred.) Our comment, here, is to reaffirm that Palin sure wasn’t shy about using the “old boy network” to lobby and secure more monies for pork spending. Those Alaskan native's are getting paid for whatever oil is extracted. Poll them instead of watching a reporter give you their opinion of what they feel and you'll get a completely different answer than what you will always believe. Polar bears do not exist solely in the territory that you feel is yours. There are more now than five years ago, they're starting to get thinner though, because lack of hunting has caused them to run short of food due to polar bear overcrowding.

I know of zero hunters that hunt just for sport. Cutting the head off and leaving the rest to rot is completely unheard of. I wonder, for example, how many times you've gotten deer meat from your local food pantry, and thought it was beef.

Global warming is not "circadian rhythm." Circadian rhythm (and here I implore you to take your own advice and "look it up") is a physiological/biological/behavioral phenomenon. You may have heard it referred to as your "biological clock." Since the global climate system, believe it or not, is not an organism, it cannot have a circadian rhythm.

Circadian rhythm is, among other things, observable in the way that your body secretes less melatonin during daylight hours than it does when it is dark out.
