Jun 13 2008Tim Russert dead at 58 of heart attack
Veteran anchor Tim Russert of NBC's Meet the Press has died today at age 58 of a heart attack, according to The New York Times:
Tom Brokaw, the former anchor of NBC Nightly News, came on the air at 3:39 p.m. that Mr. Russert had collapsed and died early this afternoon while at work. He had just returned from Italy with his family.
“Our beloved colleague,” a grave Mr. Brokaw called him, one of the premier journalists of our time. He said this was one of the most important years in his life, with his deep engagement in the network’s political coverage, and that he “worked to the point of exhaustion.” Mr. Brokaw said Mr. Russert was a true child of Buffalo and always stayed in touch with his blue collar roots and “the ethos of that community.”
Tim hosted Meet the Press since 1991 and interviewed prominent political figures on his own MSNBC show Tim Russert. He is survived by his wife Vanity Fair correspondent Maureen Orth and son Luke.

Tim Russet was truly a great man. A great father, husband, son and loaded with Integrity. I rarely am affected by the death of someone I never met but this is a very somber day. Tim was a genuine person in a media overflowing with crap.
If anyone really wants a great read, get Tim's book: Wisdom of Our Fathers
You won't regret it!
Tim, you will be missed...God Bless!

When Tim Russert had to stand up (In the Libby Scooter Trial, it's beyond most here) and be an honest man and exhibit the character he's long been attributed...he didn't. He perjured himself and helped send a good man to prison. That doesn't mean he deserved to die, but it does mean he was just another cheap political left wing hack, and I aint' giving him a pass.

Tim Russert was a giant in the TV medium and his death leaves a huge vacuum for NBC and all the news organizations. Tim was somebody that you could trust like Walter Kronkite. Tim never let his success go to his head and always paid tribute to his blue coller roots in south Buffulo. I will really miss seeing him on Meet the Press on Sunday mornings. In addition to all of his successes in life, Tim was a great human being and a devoted family man that would reach out to people if they lost a family member. We lost a great human being, but heaven gained a great caring soul. MY thoughts and prayers go out to Tim's family and friends

I FUCKING LOVE TIM RUSSERT -- SO SAD.
48. roop - June 15, 2008 1:46 AM
He was a good guy, if you knew his roots you understood where his politics came from, biased liberal? Sure but he had good moral fiber as opposed to actual fiber which probably would have kept him from having a heart attack.
That was just wrong.
49. the man - June 15, 2008 8:28 AM
Damn, Tim, u r the man! I got into politics because of 9/11. It took my breath away to see that u had died when I checked my yahoo on friday. U r the hipphony of politics, a reporter, a Dad, son and icon. My friends and family are shocked, you made us all better voters! R.I.P.
50. PollyfromBoston - June 15, 2008 10:22 AM
I was in a bookstore a few years ago and I picked up "Big Russ and Me," by Tim Russert. I was just planning on flipping through it and instead I literally read half of it right then and there. It really touched me. He had a great love for his father and for the city of Buffalo where he grew up. He didn't forget where he came from. Rest in peace Tim Russert.

While not always agreeing with his politics, I believe Mr. Russert really did have more integrity than most in the media today. His death truly is a loss for American journalism.

Here are the 6 individual Email addresses that you have to send $1 to
through PayPal for this to work properly and for you to receive
money.
2) Now Send $1.00 to each of the six people on the list using PayPal,
and in the comment (Subject) section type "Please add me to your

These groups of email addresses are PayPal IDs or usernames.

will respond and send you $1 ($15).
- Those 15 will post 200 letters each and 225 will send $1 ($225).
- Those 225 will post 200 letters each and 3,375 people will send you
$1 ($3,375).
- Those 3,375 people will post 200 letters each and 50,625 people will
send you $1 (50,625).
- Those 50,625 will post 200 letters each and 749,375 people will send
you $1 (749,375).
- At this point your name drops off the list, but so far, you have
received $813,615.00.
JUST MAKE SURE ALL THE ADDRESSES ARE CORRECT.
When your name is no longer on the list, you just take the latest
posting in the news groups, and send out another $6.00 to Email
Addresses using Paypal on the list, putting your name at number 6
again.

Meet the Press with Tim and the McLauglin Group were the only two shows worth watching to get you political news.
I always like this sorry Bills fan. And I appreciated that he was the only anchor in the world who would give half a breath of attention to independent and third party candidates. This show is going to change to be like everything else you can watch. It will never be the same.
57. janie - June 16, 2008 12:06 PM

He was the bomb!
58. hank - June 16, 2008 12:35 PM
Some of you should look up the definition of "neo-con" instead of using it to describe someone you don't like.
Tim Russert proved you could be born and raised in the armpit of the universe and still rise to the top of your chosen profession.
He was a politician BEFORE he was a journalist. Usually that goes the other way around. He knew politicians had their human failings, but he still asked tough questions, like the one he asked Bill Clinton in the spring of 1992
"Will we find anything in your background that would keep you from being an effective President?"
Or when he asked Hillary Clinton in 2002 "would you ever consider running for President?" And she answered "I HAVE NO INTENTION OF EVER DOING THAT"
59. Baffled - June 17, 2008 5:54 PM
Did anyone else notice that Kim's ass crack shot in photo 1 is photoshopped? It's completely off the mark from the crack in the bikini bottoms. Without the photoshopped ass crack her but is as high up her back as it appears. I've been baffled how such a heavy load could be riding so high. The real crack ends half way down the bikini bottom and shows the real drop in her finest asset.
