Americans try to blame it on genetics, but most people start off in life with a good weight, and then gain weight from eating too much. When I go to the gym, I see people young, middle aged and old people with nice tight fit bodies. Its great to see how happy they get when they see that they are making progress, and even though they are able to maintain their weight people like you are always going to feel sorry for them and in some cases see them as aliens, this is very harmful for peoples self esteem. We should learn to be more understanding and more open minded and think that that person might not be just LAZY, but that they could have thyroid problems which is already a minor set back for them to loose weight. Yeah we should teach our kids to be as healthy as possible, but we should also teach them to have high self esteem so they dont let superficial people get to them.
