Jimbo may have came off rude as hell but actually he's correct in some regards. Women have no problem playing the "victim" and calling police during a stressful argument, usually not fully understanding of the consequences and wanting only to embarrass the man involved (but it turns into so much more if the police become involved). Men on the other hand hardly ever report domestic violence abuse for fear of embarrass and appearing "weak".

I can state this from experience as I was arrested last year when I got into an argument with my (then) girlfriend and she called the police. I was in defensive mode during the fight and was repeatedly attacked and bitten (I threw her into a bunch of furniture and lamps while she was trying to assault me and was trying to get her out of my house), then she called the police and I got arrested and charged with domestic violence. They reduced the charges down to domestic jostling and refused to drop the case even though my (then) girlfriend stated directly to the prosecutor that it was her fault and that I was only defending myself. That's Michigan for you, but these situations aren't a joke and not to be taken lightly. Women - You need to think before you do any crazy shit like call the police just because you're mad at a boyfriend - you'll regret it for a long time. If it's an alcohol issue, seriously, stop drinking.

Look, the first question the cops should ask when a woman makes this call is "Did you have it coming?"
