Of course, the natural children of adoptive parents with very high IQ had higher IQ than the adopted children because, yes, there is a strong genetic factor to intelligence. But your "causal" argument is absurd and unfounded.

Anyway, in the Bell Curve, these studies are lumped together and the effects of time spent with the birth parents in their environment is not accounted for.
