Dec 5 2007Kiefer Sutherland starts his jail sentence
Kiefer Sutherland was officially booked this evening at the Glendale City Jail. He is to serve a 48-day sentence stemming from a September arrest for DUI. He petitioned the judge to allow him to serve in city jail instead of the infamous Twin Towers county facility where “jailers can’t guarantee the safety of high-profile inmates.” Kiefer was scheduled to start his sentence on his birthday December 21 which is when 24 begins its Christmas hiatus. Due to the writers strike, Kiefer decided to surrender early. TMZ reports:
TMZ spoke with Glendale Police Chief Randy Adams, who said Kiefer will be treated "just like anyone else," adding, "The fact that he's a celebrity -- he checked that at the door when he checked in." Chief Adams said Sutherland will perform laundry and kitchen duties and will serve the entire 48 days consecutively. The Chief said Kiefer will not share a cell, but that is S.O.P. in Glendeezy because all "long term inmates" get their own digs.
Hold on a minute. They’re going to make Kiefer Sutherland do laundry and kitchen duties? Maybe he should’ve gone with county prison. I know if I had a choice between doing the thankless chores God wants my wife to do or taking a shiv to the gut during a prison riot, I’d choose the shiv. A man should only do the dishes and laundry in college which is why I used paper plates and wore trash bags for shirts. I made those Hefty’s look hot.

Prison is no joke, and its too bad Kiefer (who is thankfully man enough), will be taking the fall of the rest of you so called Hollywood Players. Its not like he was holding cocaine for the umpteenth time he was pulled over, or neglecting the welfare of his offspring while he was out, only to spend seconds behind bars. why should he be the example, when heiresses are snorting blow off of cd covers before heading into an event?, Or driving the wrong way down an interstate, risking the lives of innocent hard working below the line employees? Or bearing children because theyre so cute when they're that small...etc,etc..
All That I hope for, is that he sets a new precident for all of you retards who feel that you're above the law, because you either have a fortune coming to you, or you can read a few lines at an acceptional level, or you take off your clothing, and 3 million dipshits in America care, and you all spend the time that you've earned, behind bars. Fuck you very much.

I can't belive that Lohan, Hilton and Ritchie do less than 15 days combined for their DUI's and Kiefer gets the book thrown at him for 48 days. (reletively speaking) Sounds like those Ho's must have blown their judges to get lighter sentences. I guess Lohan and Richie did a better job since they got only a few hours. Paris must have gave the judge herpes since she got 2 weeks.

True Story: just before Julia broke off her engagement to Keifer (in a rather bizarre way), Keifer was in Albuquerque at a strip club where one of my brothers was a DJ. Keifer left with the most notorious stripper in the stable - notorious in that she had razor wire for a personality and a bank account where her heart should have been - and they stayed at a lodge in Santa Fe for the weekend. I'm a huge fan of 24, and I've loved Kiefer Sutherland in just about everything I've ever seen him in. That said, he totally deserves 48 days in jail. This was his FOURTH dui. Add to that the fact that he was on probation at the time, and he should be thankful he didn't get a longer sentence. The judge in the case most likely knew about the fact that he (Kiefer) was offered a car service, which he inexplicably refused.
I sincerely hope he doesn't become someone's bitch in jail, and he hopefully comes through it okay, but the man's had enough chances to get his shit together and hasn't done it yet, so it's his own fault.

i always kind of liked kiefer and i certainly think his dad's great, although i'm told his father disowned him some time ago. i believe he's worked hard to contain his anger and excessive lifestyle and i hope this period isn't too bad for him.
he's going in now so that if the strike ends, he can get back to his bread and butter without missing a beat and he's doing it in glendale because, well, it's glendale. have you ever been to glendale? i don't envision particularly "hard time."
