Actually you only have to be a licensed M.D. (or D.O.) to perform plastic surgery. Patients should seek out board-certified specialists, but it's not illegal for an ordinary doc to slide into plastic surgery without any rigorous training. Dr. Rey, for example (Dr. 90210) is NOT certified by any U.S. specialty board.

She didn't deserve to die, but I believe in a thing called survivial of the fittest and if you make stupid decisions and die because of them. you're no longer in the gene pool. So the dude walked off the air. So be it. He has no obligation to defend himself on or off the air. He thought he was going to speak and decided not. Too many depend on their doctor making the perfect and absolute decision of what is happening to that persons body. This dude is being raked over the coals and we don't even know the cause of death.

Until we know what really killed her, how can we blame the doctor? There could have been any number of complications, some that may have been her fault, some that may have been the doctor's. Even the anesthesiologist could be the one at fault. Maybe, after being turned down by so many doctors, she lied about her medical history so that they would operate.

The real problem is legislative. How a doctor who is not board-certified can be allowed to have a practice, and perform major surgeries is beyond me. Regardless of what color he is, or who died on his table, he is responsible and should serve jail time as well as heavy fines and should permanently lose his license to practice medicine.
