Can someone familiar with California law please explain to me how your sentence is reduced prior to your serving time? I was in under the impression that your sentence may be reduced for good behavior once you are already in jail.

If the people who protested in California want to make a change they need to move to Mexico and protest there. Change Mexico, not America. America has a system that works fine. Citizens are represented and treated well (in most cases). Non-citizens have ways to become citizens. There must be rule of law regardless of the hardships some people suffer to get here or in their previous country. If Mexico has problems then Mexico should fix them. I find it absolutely amazing at how the rich get treated as opposed to the poor and oppressed. I’ve never in all my days known anyone- and I’ve known some delinquents- who went to jail under the same circumstances. The sentence may not be a huge deal, but it is harsh. They are trying to make an example of her, and the public is enjoying it because they hate her for being rich and famous through no real fault (or talent) of her own. The judge, too, made a point of saying that he came to his decision in part because of his perception of her public persona. It’s unfair, but justice has never actually been any more blind or any less prejudiced than the people involved.
