I have not followed Gisele’s career very close, however, I do commend her for her choice of words & advise. I respect her for standing up for her point of view & accurately stating how important a strong family support system is for young models entering the runway/fashion life (& any career for that matter).

I quite often visit this site, more because I am a publicist vs. liking all the “not-so-nice” things that get posted some times. I struggled for years, especially during my teenage years, about how rail thin & tall I was. Controlling my metabolism was out of my control & I wished I could have worn clothes like everyone else & also been able to have a body like the “popular people”. A new confidence & appreciation for my athletics & intellect my junior year, introduced me into the inner click & I became “popular”. Soon, after entering college, I realized that the fashion world embodied my proportions, that designers used mannequins with similar measurements to my own. Not everyone who is thin, or has a fast metabolism starves, takes steroids, or eats nothing but grass & crackers. It is important to know that everyone’s genetic composition is unique & that fashion is often times over the top. I now love my body, I am complimented on my physical & fashion appearance, more, because I embrace what I look like & the secure person I have become. Additionally, I am a successful young professional.
