Jun 19 2006Britney Spears really needs the help
Page Six reports Britney Spears was a complete mess before her Dateline interview with Matt Lauer last week. When they showed up to her Malibu mansion they found her alone without any of her publicists, and she insisted on doing her own hair and makeup, which turned out terribly and one of her fake eyelashes even fell off when she started crying during the interview.
"When [the NBC crew] got there, they thought they had the wrong day . . . During the interview, no one was there to rein things in," we're told. Spears, when asked about Kevin Federline being with a pregnant Shar Jackson when they first met, shot back, "Julia Roberts' husband had a pregnant wife when he hooked up with Julia, but no one ever talked about that!" Spears wore flip-flops, a see-through tank and micro-mini jeans. Reps tried to control the damage on Friday. "They asked NBC not to release footage to places like E!," said a source. Asked why Spears was on her own for the interview, Sloane Zelnick said, "Britney is a grown-up and makes her own decisions."
If you happened to miss the interview I've posted the entire thing here and after the jump. Britney obviously doesn't come off as very intelligent, but the best part is seeing her try to use air quotes when she clearly has no idea how to. Oh wait, no idea "how" to. Check out the clips to see what I'm talking about.

This is so old. I'm in NZ and it's been out here for ages. So in other news......
2. Dashing Dave Ditko - June 19, 2006 5:27 PM
Man she's dumb. I'd hit it still.
3. hendero - June 19, 2006 5:27 PM
of course she uses "air quotes". She's an "air head"

Greatest. Meltdown. Ever.
5. krisdylee - June 19, 2006 5:34 PM
I have officially exhausted all my cuntiness regarding Britney. I now only feel twinges of pity combined with annoyance of hearing all about her fucked up life.
6. jane's eyre - June 19, 2006 5:36 PM
GAHHH! Couldn't watch more than a few minutes. And I agree, this is very old news.
7. BarbadoSlim - June 19, 2006 5:37 PM
I read somewhere that Matt Lauer ABSOLUTELY refused to do the sit down until a HazMat team was brought in to clear the smell of unwashed crotches and stale tabaca' outta the room with high pressure hoses from tanker trucks filled with Fabreze.
true story
8. jane's eyre - June 19, 2006 5:42 PM
Love the part where she says,
"I've wept with the world..." in response to his question as to whether she's cried over being called a bad mom.
What an ass.
9. CoJo - June 19, 2006 5:43 PM
Dear Britney,
In order to gain the public's respect or your own self-respect back, please follow these 6 simple rules:
1. Lose 20 lbs.
2. Lose K-Fed in a public display of "gofuckyourselfyoufreeloadingloser-youhaveasmallpenisanyway"
3. Let the manny handle the children, you stick to working out and making money.
4. STOP CHEWING EFFING GUM WITH YOUR MOUTH OPEN!
5. Whenever stepping foot in public, hire a hair & makeup artist and a stylist. They do it for a living, you stick to trying to sing.
6. Never use air quotes ever again unless your "quoting someone".
10. sld - June 19, 2006 5:46 PM
Poor Britters, all that was missing was a great big lactating booby popping out.
11. johnnywad - June 19, 2006 5:49 PM
Matt Lauer looks like at times he's trying not to bust out laughing at her and point and make sounds like children do when they see the baboons at the zoo.
And at other times he looks like he's thinking "Goddamnit, they never made Brokow interview a dim-witted hick like this!!!"
12. Jacq - June 19, 2006 5:55 PM
Anyone see the TMZ article about how she's slipping back to Louisiana?
One of her false eyelashes even fell off when she started to cry. And, it'll continue to drive me crazy - spit out the fuckin' gum COUNTRY!!
13. BigJim - June 19, 2006 5:55 PM
I guess when you're "cuntry" you figure there isn't much difference between going on national television and going to a NASCAR race.
She gives the term "double wide" all new meaning, but being preggers, I guess I can forgive that. What she really needs to do is lose 160 pounds of K-Fag.
14. annie - June 19, 2006 6:01 PM
she's chewing gum during an interview... i can't believe it.
15. Spindoc - June 19, 2006 6:04 PM
Love that she threw Julia Roberts under the bus. Nothing is better for your career than pissing off somebody more powerful in the entertainment industry than yourself.
16. Fugurself - June 19, 2006 6:08 PM
Isn't it amazing that she can chew gum and shed tears at the same time?
Why doesn't she just crank out a few pornos and get it over with?
Your 15 minutes are up dumbass - fifteen minutes of fame is too much.
Britney falls into that rare category for whom fifteen seconds of fame is too much.
17. Fugurself - June 19, 2006 6:09 PM
Britney Spears to play doctor with me in my trailor,
caress my balls in her mouth,
and smear my man goo in her hair.
18. Celetina - June 19, 2006 6:11 PM
What disturbed me most about the interview (I caught it on TV; I'm a failure, I know) is the way her shirt fit like a thong. It's totally okay to gain weight like that when you're pregnant, but is it that hard to pick REMOTELY FLATTERING CLOTHES? It was utterly disgusting to watch.
19. Jennifer - June 19, 2006 6:14 PM
I was never a big Britney fan but I have to admit I feel terrible for her at this point in her life. Clearly she is not in a good place in her personal life, and she has had people taking care of everything for her since she was a child. She was sheltered and exploited at the same time, and now that she has grown-out of her hot-teenager jail bait persona, she has been tossed aside.
You can't possibly believe that the Dateline people couldn't have forced her to use thier hair and make-up people. She NEEDED this interview, she set it up! And where is her mother?? Seriously, no one is looking out for this girl. They left her to sink or swin and she is so obviously drowning.
20. Nikk The Templar - June 19, 2006 6:14 PM
That was so awful, I have the sudden urge to go drink moonshine and walk barefoot into a public bathroom.

22. Evangelia - June 19, 2006 6:20 PM
i love it how they intersperse old sexy clips of her with how she looks now. it led me to make a realization. this is not the same britney. someone kidnapped her.
23. Mick Fox - June 19, 2006 6:27 PM
her voice at the beginning of the last clip creeps me out.
24. Karibean - June 19, 2006 6:34 PM
The best comment of this interview was that she was not drawn to trash??? What?? Kevin, anything she wears, etc. Also, what does Julia think about Britany turning her out during the interview??? I hope Kevin is making alot of money because I think her career ended during this interview. And she expects us to believe that she did not realize that Kevin was with Shar, Bull Shit!!! What does Shar have to say about that. Once a cheater always a cheater. What was with those eyelashes??? Matt gave an award winning interview just for the fact that he did not laugh in her face. After Chaotic Britney should not complain about the media scrutiny. She is not country, she is whitetrash, trailer park, redneck, losers!! Her and Kevin are like Bobby and Whitney or that trailer park couple from the Simpsons. Hopefully both of them will just go away.
25. Tha-Flash - June 19, 2006 6:35 PM
Ya, leave the woman alone you fat bastards.
26. shankyouverymuch - June 19, 2006 6:38 PM
Multiple air quotes... "CLASSIC"
27. cocosbaby - June 19, 2006 6:40 PM
Can she even get her facts straight? Julia Roberts stole Danny Moder from his wife, who was not pregnant at the time. Unlike Britney, who just steals men from baby mammas.
28. Brokeneyes - June 19, 2006 6:43 PM
I love how she places the blame of all her accidents on photographers. She just has to confess that she didn't know wtf she was doing. Everyday I hate her more.
29. LickyLicky - June 19, 2006 6:44 PM
Sad. Just sad. She needs to get her shit together, or at least pay someone to get her shit together for her.
Did she call her babies her 'boo-boos'? Freudian slip, anyone?
30. Zapp Brannigan - June 19, 2006 6:45 PM
I've watched the terrorist beheading videos all the way through, but I couldn't sit through this. Seriously.
31. Charshine - June 19, 2006 6:50 PM
"I was hungry"
Big surprise there!
32. UNWASHEDMASSES - June 19, 2006 6:56 PM
Wouldn't it have been great if she reeeeally melted down on air? Like, while she was sobbing she farted LOUDLY, and the camera cut to Matt's pained expression. Or in one of her rambling diatribes about how she's not that bad because others do it, she outs all of Hollywood ("Julia stole a pregnant woman's hubby, and nobody says nothin'. Clay Aiken swallows keilbasa whole and all night, and nobody says nothin'. Tom Cruise loves the cock, and only the people at The Superficial say something.") Or she smears a big, bloody booger across her cheek and when Matt tries to tell her she makes it worse (Matt - "You appear to have something smeared across your cheek there, Britney." Britney - "Probably just some of Kev's baby gravy."). Don't you wish Lauer attacked her like he did Tommy Boy? Just went for the kill? Britney would be reduced to a quivering mound of cheeto-dusted, tear-stained hick fuck. And for any out there feeling pangs of remorse for this white trash Kylie Minogue, please rent Chaotic and shut the fuck up. Contrast the gleeful arrogance on display with the sorry sack of shit propped up before Matt Lauer. All that will make the downward spiral complete is the eventual new album, the comeback album/tour, flopping miserably. Then we can all sit back and anxiously await the VH1 Behind The Music.

34. LilRach - June 19, 2006 7:05 PM
#19 - i have to agree. I really feel for her and what the media has put her through. We can take the piss out of her and mock her all we want but we really don't know the whole truth as to what has really gone on at all because it has all been blown out of proportion.
When i see the part when she starts to cry i honestly just wana cry too! She is only human guys. I know this is the wrong place to been saying all this - but come on - there must be someone out there that feels maybe a little sorry for her - anyone??
35. Pearly - June 19, 2006 7:10 PM
I love how she never even tries to defend her "baby oopses" she just goes on and on about tabloids "cheap shots." A cheap shot doesn't include driving with your kid on your lap in the front seat. That's just stupid as hell. She looks like hell, acts like an idiot and goes on prime time TV to complain about the media?? Dressed like that?
Way to make the tabloids point, shit for brains.
36. ptprez - June 19, 2006 7:10 PM

*crickets chirping*
41. bluecanary - June 19, 2006 7:37 PM
YES, #24. I knew she reminded me of someone. the trailer park woman from Simpsons. "GIMME BACK MA WOMB FRUIT!!!"
Anyone who chews gum in public needs to be punched in the neck, pregnant or no. I'm from the south, and there's a lot of difference between "southern" and "trailer trash."
42. BoardBetty - June 19, 2006 7:38 PM
"He's simple. He's like a boy."
Yup, those are some winning qualities in a man. My favorite quotation of hers has to be, "He has a really big heart."
And by "heart" of course, she means "dick." Obviously, he's a good roll in the hay, but if Sex in the City taught us ANYTHING it's that you don't try to have a relationship with Mr. Pussy!!!
43. BarbadoSlim - June 19, 2006 7:43 PM
"Shitney" "is" "a" "fat" "dirty" "pig" "who" "likes" "to" "fuck" "and" "roll" "around" "in" "her" "own" "filth" "."
and you can quote me on that.
44. ellaminnowpea - June 19, 2006 7:44 PM
yeah...I feel sorry for her...for being so FUCKING stupid and thinking that SHE is a superior brain over and above the American public. PULEEEEZ!!!
She ASKED for this.
Why?
Because she "really doesn't care what anyone thinks about her"....but called in Matt Lauer to set the record straight, oh, excuse me, I meant to say "schtraight" (God that grates on my nerves!!!) ENUNCIATE!!!!
The saddest thing about it?
When they showed the clips of her singing Christmas carols when she was 17 and interviewed by Matt--she seemed more mature and more poised than this blubbering Jabba the Hutt that sat there oozing out of her sheer rags.
Yeah....I'm sorry - Sorry that her parents were shitty parents and lacked childrearing skills and this new generation is even worse!
She now gives rednecks and white trash a bad name!! sad.......> "you know" "you know" "you know"...You know?!?!
45. ellaminnowpea - June 19, 2006 7:49 PM
@42 - "he's simple"....where I'm from, saying someone is 'simple' is a PC euphemism for being retarded or developmentally slow....now is that a nice thing to say about her 'boy'?!?!
46. BoardBetty - June 19, 2006 7:53 PM
. . . and oh my gawd!!! Can someone teach this woman to sit up straight? She's got to have the worst posture.
47. LL - June 19, 2006 8:03 PM
Didn't watch, cause the plentiful promos made it clear that it would be nothing but 30 minutes of Britney crying. I'm tempted to sorta agree that people have been a mite rough on her. I mean, her kid's still alive, right? What more do you people want? BUT:
* She did that crappy "reality" show, inviting us all into her life with Kev, but now we're all supposed to respect her privacy? A lot of celebrities might as well have a blinking neon sign around their necks that say LOOK AT ME! but at the same time believe they should be able to switch that shit off and on like the on-duty sign on a taxi. Sorry, dears, doesn't work like that.
* Aren't we all inured to celebrity crying by now? Did she hope to garner sympathy by bawling like a 5-year-old? She's rich and famous and we're supposed to feel bad for her? Bitch, please.
* Clearly, she was not well-served by her teenage celebrity and has not been taught how to behave in public. She doesn't need religion or a PR flack, she needs to go to a Swiss boarding school or a finishing school or just a weekend-long stint with Miss Manners. Something. Chomping on gum in a TV interview, slagging on other people in an attempt to defend yourself, dressing like a slattern - these things aren't country, they're tacky. The people this reflects most badly on are her parents, who were apparently too busy making their daughter a famous teenage sexpot to teach her how to be an adult.
48. Sister Morphine - June 19, 2006 8:09 PM
You know, Britney is a great actress. She almost had me convinced she didn't believe the paparazzi were going to be this mean to her.
Hey Brit.....when you marry a gold-digging, no job having, pregnant-girlfriend-leaving, no-good piece of shit loser........people aren't going to be happy for you. And when you make boneheaded mistakes as a mother, no one is going to excuse you or pat you on the head and say "it's okay, accidents happen". If you had been in a car accident with that kid on your lap......and he died......you could have been charged with reckless endangerment. Sound pleasant to you?
Grow up.
49. BarbadoSlim - June 19, 2006 8:10 PM
@32 You sir, (or Madam) are a god.
50. userscreenname - June 19, 2006 8:17 PM
this interview was endearing, instead of amusing as I evil-mindedly wanted it to be. video 4 totally made me shed a tear. i admire her for being 24 and worth $100 million while still being as human as the rest of us.
51. Dragulf - June 19, 2006 8:23 PM
What can I add that has not been said already. Britney is indeed "country" to the roots on her head. I don't think this interview was a good idea on her part. I kept wanting to shove a bale of hay at her and MOO! Does she think her weirdly placed nipples on those swollen floppy boobs of hers need to "air" out all the time? Put on a bra for gods sake ya dang hick!
TCLTC!
52. Nikky Raney - June 19, 2006 8:42 PM
Back when i was 9 years old I was britney spears biggest fan. my old sn was NIKKYb1f and i just loved britney spears. watching this interview at my now 16 age makes me feel nostalgia. I once had my walls covered in britney spears posters.. she was my favorite. and now she's gone through so much i actually have respect for her. i feel bad for her for what she's gone through. i know if i was a celebrity followed by the paparazzi all the time i'd fuck up so much that i'd probably be doing crack just like the next bitch. i mean i get why they do what they do. how many of us can say we have 40 cameras in our face 24/7... seriously. we need to cut celebs some slack. the little tiny shit we give them.. if we were in their position if someone randomly decided to make you this celebrity you might say "i wouldnt let them i'd punch them in the face" well then all the people at the superficial. com would be talking shit about you. seriously. if any one of you here became famous and made one mistake or wore something wrong or had a drunk night where you did things you regret.. everyone would remmeber. it sucks.
53. Toonlite - June 19, 2006 8:46 PM
I CAN'T STAND IT ANYMORE...THE GUM, AIR QUOTES, "AMAZING"..the accent she keeps reverting to to excuse her stupid behaviour...
She is sloppy and that gum smacking..I wish Matt would have grabbed a tissue and make her spit it out!!!
54. Angel_Baby - June 19, 2006 8:50 PM
I truly feel sorry for her..
55. ellaminnowpea - June 19, 2006 9:01 PM
I think the media should grant Britney her wish and N E V E R EVER take a picture of her or her family OR write anything about them EVER again....and just let them go....never to be seen or heard from again!
PLEASE let them disappear...TOTALLY!!!
THEN what would she do for attention?!?!
56. bunnyhugger - June 19, 2006 9:20 PM
poor stupid bitch. please, put those boobs away before you hurt someone.
i'm way too old to ever have been a fan, and when my daughter was a fan, i mostly igored it. wtf is with that heavy drawl???
spit out the gum, twat!
57. yuckyfresh - June 19, 2006 9:26 PM
is that a mullet?
58. Lala - June 19, 2006 9:50 PM
Her dad used to ride in the car with her sitting on his lap. My dad used to swing me around by my ankles until I nearly threw up, then throw me into the ocean when I wasn't fully able to swim but it's okay! And I can't WAIT to do it to my kids!
59. lolo - June 19, 2006 10:10 PM
how stupid can a person be? i mean honestly. im not a huge fan of just sitting and talking shit about celebs, but this was ridiculous. she couldnt answer a question even. she would come up with some answer that had not a single god damn thing to do with the question. i didnt learn a single thing new. she just blabbered. and those air quotes...please someone inform her when to use those. im pretty sure even my 3 year old knows how to use them. if she wanted to set the record straight maybe she should have prepared and given a somewhat professional interview. this is just more to fuel the poparazzi. poor idiot.
60. twzzlrgirl - June 19, 2006 10:14 PM
I can't understand why the press, media, etc. is so interested in getting pictures of her and her family. Honestly, the people across the street from me look like royalty compared to Brit and her clan. She is an unnattractive, mannerless slob who can't dress herself. Why is she still fascinating to anyone???
Oh, and who'd like to bet that the day the press stopped taking pictures of her, she'd be back on the tv crying that no one was interested in her anymore. She's a moron.
61. BoardBetty - June 19, 2006 10:16 PM
#47 - LL, "slattern." What a great fucking word. She'd probably have to look it up though.
62. BarbadoSlim - June 19, 2006 10:21 PM
Her tears are amusing to me.
Yes cry, cry, for Barbado, you stupid cunt.
This should serve as a cautionary tale, if you get a chance to live the good life in the spotlight, learn to step away from it with a little dignity. Retire, enjoy your undeserved wealth and SHUT. YOUR. FUCKING. PIE. HOLE.
63. BoardBetty - June 19, 2006 10:23 PM
The whole air quotation marks dealie is hil-fucking-arious!
She's probably one of those people who uses the word "literally" when she means "figuratively" and feels all smart and shit.
64. ellaminnowpea - June 19, 2006 10:28 PM
yeah....yeah....yeah....you know....well....you know....you know?
well....that's America for you!
65. eden - June 19, 2006 10:29 PM
people really need to leave her alone. she is not trash she has millions of dollars. where are you people in your life? no one is perfect. your acheivements probably don't touch hers- jealousy really enjoys company.
66. BoardBetty - June 19, 2006 10:31 PM
#65 - so why are YOU reading the boards then?
67. meowmeowkittykat - June 19, 2006 11:15 PM

"His heart is awesome. He has a really big heart."

"He's so simple."
Yes. We gathered that. So is the retarded boy in my English class but I'm not marrying him.
69. scamps - June 19, 2006 11:35 PM
65, being trash has nothing to do with how much money you have. You can have little money and be classy. It's about how you act.
She's being hounded by press because of her celebrity status? Maybe she'd like to trade places with me and be someone with no job, Autism, mental illnesses, no insurance, and no money. God, fucking a...
70. yuckyfresh - June 19, 2006 11:40 PM
#52 - no one ever "randomly decided to make" britney a celebrity. she and her mom made her a celebrity. you can't feel sorry for her because she made this herself and these are the consequences. if anything this should be a lesson to you: stay in school. we can see from britney that dressing like a school girl doesn't give you an education.
and to #65 - having millions of dollars doesn't prevent you from being trashy. i'd stack up my education and intact personal life against britney's achievements any day. i bet i can even sing better than her, and without the help of nasa.
71. yuckyfresh - June 19, 2006 11:44 PM
but yes, kudos to her for turning a shitty voice, mediocre dancing, a fat ass and trashy twang into millions of dollars.
72. Sheva - June 19, 2006 11:54 PM
Man does she look like shit. I mean the clothes she wears on the interview look like something you would see people walking around in the poor styx.
Tits flooping out, small shorts with huge thighs and terrible makeup. She gets on TV to show what?
That she is an utter bufoon. Thanks, but that's not news.
73. jane's eyre - June 20, 2006 12:09 AM
I SO agree about the sitty voice. UGH! Can't STAND it. Whenever her nasal voice would come on, "Oh bay-buh bay-buh", I swear my blood pressure would shoot through the roof, and I had visions of kicking puppies and kittens. And the fact that someone was being PAID to come up with those lyrics? WTF?! Oops, I did it again? Are you SERIOUS?? THAT'S the best you can come up with? My stupid high-school lovestruck poetry had 10 times more depth & originality than that tripe.

She needs to go back to school. It's a shame that all that money went to someone who can't even use air quotes properly. How "sad" is that? LOL
80. common_person - June 20, 2006 12:51 AM
She is just an unintelligent person. If she conveyed any message to the public it was this. She wasn't even following what Matt was implying in his questioning. She's just a dumb person. Wow. I mean I knew she was dumb, but god, she's oblivious!
81. SoupaSarah - June 20, 2006 1:53 AM
Erm, i may be the only one who knows this here but apparently women put on weight when theyre pregnant... and as Britney is pregnant I think its very wrong to keep calling her fat and telling her to lose weight. I am pretty sure dieting isnt good for the baby. Why do you think mother nature doesnt let nicole richie get preggers? I dont understand why the media doesnt just let her get on with it and stop harrassing her.
82. conceitedhipster - June 20, 2006 2:19 AM
#5: I have to comment on your brilliant use of the word "cuntiness."
Fantastic.
83. quidproquo - June 20, 2006 2:26 AM
I've never been a huge Britney fan, but everyone who's constantly harping on her life's just too much. People makes mistakes, and we shouldnt put her down for every little thing she does wrong, just because she's famous.
84. yuckyfresh - June 20, 2006 2:49 AM
#81 - no one is supposed to gain 45 lbs and stuff themselves with twinkies and dairy queen when pregnant (or ever). eating reasonable quantities of healthy foods is only considered "dieting" if you're a cow. britney, the baby and sean p (nursing) would all be MUCH healthier if she stopped pumping her blood full of insulin and triglycerides.
actually, cows are probably healthier than she is too.
and i doubt that nicole richie isn't "preggers" because mother nature won't let her be. unlike britney, she is probably competent in methods of birth control. doctors warn against getting pregnant for 6-12 months after having a c-section...
85. yuckyfresh - June 20, 2006 2:51 AM
and clearly we're putting her down because she's a moron, not because she's famous. there are lots of famous people who don't try to kill their babies.
86. Fawlty - June 20, 2006 3:25 AM
Kinda nice too see that some celebrities don't have to surround themselves with publicists and stylists for every little thing, actually.
Nice boobs, too.
She seems very... ordinary. Sweet, really.
87. pinochio - June 20, 2006 3:34 AM
I luurrvee Britney, she makes me feel like Einstein.
88. tarjamarja - June 20, 2006 3:46 AM
Oh man, after seeing that interview I think I feel sorry for her ... Oh wait, on second thought, no I don't.
89. FecalPellets - June 20, 2006 3:51 AM
Okay, regarding the "NY stumble" (heh, quotes ala Brit--props), did anyone ever question what was in HER GLASS?? Was she drunk or just being clumsy?
90. dominocat - June 20, 2006 3:53 AM
BUNNYRABBITS!
I can't help thinking if she wants privacy, she could buy a big fuck-off ranch back home in Louisiana, and have space and peace and everything that Hollywood is NEVER GOING TO GIVE HER.

Ah, Z-thing! Brilliant website, pissed off a lot of conservatives:)Remember the Tonya Harding games?! Yup, thems was the good ole days. Damn, I'm feeling all nostalgic now:)
92. Alexious - June 20, 2006 4:59 AM
This is very sad indeed. Does'nt this remind you of Mrs Boby Brown being interviewed by Diane Sawyer saying 'I dont do crack, Crack is cheap" that is the first sign to try nad make yourself belive that your marriage is great. Poor kind , Is'nt it time she grows up? Making babies does'nt mean you are a respondsible adult. The kind needs help big time.
93. diamondprynzez - June 20, 2006 5:46 AM
Do you know why the housekeeper slacks? She's probably having sex with K-Fag in his basement.
And if the housekeeper is a "he" (air quotes), that would really explain why Britney has to do her own toilets.
94. SoupaSarah - June 20, 2006 7:56 AM
I doubt Nicole Richie could get pregnant even if she wanted to, its a fact that when you are starving yourself you risk fertility. Although, i'm liking the Auschwitz Birkinau look shes going for. Suits her. I watched this documentary made by Allied Troops (BRITISH) called Memory of the Camps, i am sure i saw nicole in there somewhere.
95. chacha13 - June 20, 2006 8:56 AM
my favorite part:
"i love funny people...funny people are great, and so hilarious."
great observation, brit brit. moron doesn't even begin to describe her.
96. Stirlang923 - June 20, 2006 9:26 AM
She just looks HORRIBLE in this interview. My roommate and I tried to listen to her but we couldn't get past the bad extensions, the Claires jewelery, the chipped nails, and the too small clothes.
Fun interview though
97. melanie - June 20, 2006 9:38 AM
britney went through a delayed teenage rebellion. she holds a lot against her mom for "robbing" her of her childhood. she feels she was exploited by her parents and by the others who worked as hard as her to make her rich and famous and successful. she insists on doing everything herself, she has become a control freak. britney no longer allows her mom to have any say in her career and is also prevented from interfering in britney's domestic situation. one of the main reasons britney wont divorce kevin is because lynne has advised britney to dump her husband. britney wants to prove to her mom that she is a better wife and mother than her mom is. because britney did not receive an education, and because she was deprived of a normal childhood and manipulated into becoming the spears family breadwinner - she has issues of resentment and anger - almost like that of an incest victim. for those waiting for lynne to restore order to britney's life, forget it, the window of opportunity for a britney comeback will be closed before britney will evolve to the point where she can forgive lynne.
98. ifsixwasnine - June 20, 2006 10:08 AM
My theory *was* that the Dateline stylists must have wanted her to look bad on purpose. But now it makes sense (and no surprise) to hear that was her attempt at doing her own makeup and hair. Just reaffirms that she is a total product of the machine. I'd thought she might at least have some input as to colours she likes, things that might look good on her, but I guess the handlers are left to create her from top to bottom, because apparently she has absolutely no sense of her own style if that's what happens when she's left to fend for herself. That was one JACKED-up basket weave! And it was really a sin that she had to lift her arms to push it off her shoulders.
And the eyelashes were crooked from the beginning of the interview. She can't do her own hair or makeup and should really learn. The time to practice is not when you're getting ready for Dateline NBC.
That, and she's as dumb as a bowl of mice.
99. sander - June 20, 2006 10:21 AM
I love Matt Lauer, he is great at interviewing celebrities and putting them in the hotseat with direct questions and pulling out stupid answers from them..LOL It was funny to watch the beginning when he was talking about "how we are all use to seeing Britney in her old sexy days, compared to these days." She also needs a professional tutoring in becoming more articulate in speaking. I also love how he mentioned her outfit for the interview and gum chewing. Obviously if she is there by herself with no assistants, this girl doesn't have a very good support system surrounding her.
100. ifsixwasnine - June 20, 2006 10:41 AM
97: "...issues of anger and resentment - almost like that of an incest victim"
I think you mean adult survivor of child sexual abuse. And if Britney is suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder as a result of being pushed into show business at such a young age, throwing on her hootenanny best and showing up for a world-wide interview without having anyone coach her on what to say to not come off like a hillbilly bitch would probably not be her first course of action.
People with PTSD as a result of child sexual abuse "don't" typically want to give global interviews unless "they've" had lots of therapy.
101. spatz - June 20, 2006 10:43 AM
a lot of people got rich off of this girl, her mother included. she was exploited as much as anyone could be exploited as a teenager, pushed and pulled by everyone never allowed to grow up, go to school and learn how to properly act in society.
and this pathetic display is what happens when everyones made their money off of her and leaves this girl to fend for herself. if what happened to britney doesnt border on child abuse i dont know what does. there is no way this girl is ready to be a parent. this is the same shit that happened to michael jackson and we all saw how that story ended up.
moral of the story? dont whore you children out and then toss them aside after you get rich off of them
102. ifsixwasnine - June 20, 2006 11:03 AM
Seeing as there's another Lil' Britney in the works (can't remember her sister's name) I'd say the only thing her mother has learned is that 'abusing'/exploiting children can be pretty lucrative.
103. baratdoherty - June 20, 2006 11:07 AM
brit deserves every bit of this...she broke up a family of three and is a publicity whore. Im sorry but when you are a publicity whore, you honestly can't expect that tabloids to leave you alone when things get tough. common sense. its not like she was even nice about the shar thing. She wore T-shirts thatr said things like "He loves ME". Not to mention chronicalling the time Kevin was cheating on SHar on TV for the whole world to see. That makes britney the cunt. Britney did this to herself for being such a little cunt and a publicity whore. She made her bed, and now you feel sorry for her?!? lol...ok. Karma is karma, baby. There are consequences to your actions, and brit is experiencing that right now. the only reason i want to media to stop bothering hr is because im sick of hearing about her ugly ass. i don't feel sorry for her though, not one bit. TEAM SHAR!!!!
104. baratdoherty - June 20, 2006 11:10 AM
i think everyone is forgetting too, that Justin Timberlake and Christina both had same upbringing as Brit and they haven't gone nuts. They were exploied and they are both normal. Nice try though.
105. spatz - June 20, 2006 11:13 AM
yes that was really fucked up of her to go after shar like that. BUT. isnt shar better off? last anyone heard about her she was involved with quention tarantino. i'd take him over asswipe kfed anyday. shar obviously got the better end of this deal.
106. ifsixwasnine - June 20, 2006 11:25 AM
I don't feel sorry for her. I watched most of the interview because I am enjoying every minute of this shit tsunami.
Comparing Britney to an adult survivor of child sexual abuse is like comparing a paper cut to a stab wound. Maybe it was 'abusive' to 'force' her to star on the Mickey Mouse show. Maybe it was 'abusive' to have her pose on the cover of RS like she was doing a phone sex ad. Maybe it was 'abusive' to hire Gregory Dark to direct one of her videos.
Fuck, and I thought I had it bad - in a trailer getting molested every night from age 7 to 12. Turns out it could have been so much worse!
107. Dean - June 20, 2006 11:28 AM

just because britney thinks she is a good mother doesn't mean she is. just because britney thinks she was abused doesn't mean she was. we cannot make her see the relativity of her situation.

Life Plan for Britney
1. File for divorce from K-Fed – review your prenup Sweetheart – every year you spend with him will cost you $300K – dump him NOW and cut your losses. You will eventually see that being “Simple” is not always a good thing. It’s an GIANT evolutionary step backwards. You can do so much better Sweetheart.
2. File a restraining order against K-Fed – take him to court – file for child support. In short - remove him from your world. Just cause he's their "Daddy" doesn't make him a father.
3. Hire a “professional staff” – that is NOT someone who is related to you – a publicist, a stylist, and at the very least TWO nannies. Boot anyone who is related to you and on the payroll out the door (they’re not doing you any favors). Don’t speak to the press, don’t leave the house with your children, don’t be photographed without the direction of ALL of these people. We’re trying to repair your public image here Sweetheart. I know that you are just being true to your roots – but you don’t see Madonna strolling down the street pushing a stroller, braless & wearing rollers. (PS: Apologize to her and any other “star” you’ve thrown under the bus in the past two years – claim mental duress).
4. Get involved with a church – nothing outrageous – just a normal church (do this for your children). Saying that your “child is my religion” is putting an awful lot of pressure on the kid – cut him some slack! Always remember that the things you do – your children will probably have to live with – don’t embarrass them!
5. Announce to the public – better yet – have a member of your STAFF announce that you’re OFFICIALLY taking the next two years OFF to devote to your sanity, your health, and the CHILDREN. And actually DO IT. During this time downsize, raise your children, put K-Fed behind you (because at this point he will have blown the coop due to non-payment of child support), and most importantly spend this time developing yourself as a human being.
6. Apologize to Shar Jackson – personally think about Karma.
7. Develop a “Britney Improvement” plan, exercise, read, take some college classes (Business would be a good choice), do things that will improve yourself as a person (your children will greatly benefit from this indirectly). Your Momma might have thought that she was doing you a favor letting you get your GED – but you are so clearly under-educated. You’ve heard of someone being “smart and rich” but “ignorant and rich” is a rarity.
8. At the end of the two years come out of your self imposed retirement – refreshed, renewed, refurbished and ready to reinvent yourself to the public. Have a good life & love your children.
Lessons Learned:
• Don’t be a publicity whore.
• Be more selective in which elements of your life are released for public consumption.
• Always have a backup plan – there is an invisible clock ticking on everyone’s career – know when it’s time to regroup.
• In a 100 years this will all be history.
Good Luck Britney - you're going to be okay.
114. glee3 - June 20, 2006 1:23 PM
The part where Matt Lauer tries to address her redneckness and she says she makes good tea and talks about Madonna and reinvention scares me. It really does.
115. gammanormids - June 20, 2006 1:30 PM
not a fan of hers, but, the thing is that she got herself in that problem for trying to get a family when she obviosuly, wasn't ready. She could asked some help, but, she didn't want it or she doens't get the help she really needs. as a fact, mostly young mothers are clueless teh first time, but, we learn, whether by the advices we got or watching others. Britney has none of those: her life has been a magical protected life of the HOllywood glamour, but nothing of the reality of life as we known it. And all of a sudden, she wanted that: so, she doesn't know how to handle. People has done things for her mostly of her life, and now she's alone, she has no idea. And the hubby isn't helping either :S
Of course, there is no excuse for look like that... someone needs to tell her she doesn't have the 16years old hot body she used to.
116. DancingQueen - June 20, 2006 3:03 PM
The whole interview was a trainwreck to watch. We all thought she was a dumb bitch. Now we KNOW she's a dumb bitch. The most irritating thing about it was how she would go in and out of her southern accent. It was so put on! Totally reminded me of Madonna and her fake British accent.
117. LeadingLadybug - June 20, 2006 3:10 PM
I never loved nor hated Britney, and I don't now. I just feel pity. What with all the dumb things she said during this interview, she really did make one smart analysis: everything started going downhill after her break-up with Justin. I really think that she's capable of turning all this around, and the first step is to get rid of Mr. K-Fed.

RE #62 "Her tears are amusing to me. Yes cry, cry, for Barbado, you stupid cunt. This should serve as a cautionary tale, if you get a chance to live the good life in the spotlight, learn to step away from it with a little dignity. Retire, enjoy your undeserved wealth and SHUT. YOUR. FUCKING. PIE. HOLE."
Hee hee.... funny. I'm not feeling sorry for Britney. I know she's still young, but she doesn't know enough to not dress like a skank for a national TV interview? And to spit out her gum, fer the love of cheese? Just those two things would have helped enormously to repair her image as a simpleton. Well, that horse is long gone now.
She needs to hire a fashion consultant who will force her to stop clip-clopping around in those ugly shoes she wears, to brush her goddam hair, to wear a bra fer chrissake (when the hooters are that big, they need some support unless you want them hanging to your waist before you're 30), to dress like the adult she is (chronologically) instead of like a truck stop hooker. Jebus, in my lifetime I won't make as much money as she does in a year and I dress better than she does. There's just no excuse. Stacy and Clinton need to do an intervention on her hayseed ass. If they can make ordinary humans look good with $5,000, imagine what they could do with Britney's millions?
Then, she needs to get an education. Spend all that money on improving her mind (to the extent that's possible), instead of wasting it on producing more crappy music. Most people would kill for the opportunities she's had and she's crapping it all away and then boo-hooing about how mean everyone is. This is why everyone else thinks she's a dumb white trash bitch. She's like every dummy who's ever won the lottery and then pissed all the money away in Vegas or on eBay.
She is (in her current incarnation) proof undeniable that some people deserve to be poor. Who knew Christina would turn out to be the classy one?
120. Shop_Girl - June 20, 2006 6:45 PM
Let me start off by saying that I have never been a big fan of Britney, so please take that into consideration. As someone who is younger than she is, and saw her grow into the star she is, I always thought it was a shame that she did not have a great voice, but used her sexified image to sell millions of copies of her albums. When you think about it, her music catered to an eight-year old audience because I know that my friends and I thought her music was lacking in substance (like most pop).
Britney is a victim of her own fame. She was not complaining about the perks of being famous when she was on the top of the world, but now that she is portrayed negatively in the media she has something to say. I feel sorry for her because she is so naive and unaware of how hard she has fallen. Maybe it is bad Karma for being a home-wrecker, and sending mixed messages to impressionable eight year old girls for all of these years. Well, I feel sorry for Britney mostly because she has no clue. She has poor etiquette, little to no class, and looked so cheap on the camera in her recent interview. Is she going insane? I don't dislike her, but I am definitely not jealous.
Sure, she may have a net worth of $100 million dollars, but I have something that money can't buy...class. And who is to say that just because she is rich, she is classy? What an ignorant, unintelligible remark! I am a year younger than Britney, and am currently pursuing my Master's degree...Britney has more money and more opportunity to surpass me in my educational accomplishments....she could go to a better college, and maybe even change the world. But wait, she'd rather sit at home and create ridiculous drama than to expand her intellectual horizons. She is not an intellect, but I know that she is not that dumb either. She cleverly manipulated a lot of people into buying her albums.
Now she has embarrassed herself...she looks cheap, has no class...and it is going to take a lot to make a comeback.
121. whitney's sex toys - June 20, 2006 7:08 PM
somebody get her some help. she has post traumatic stress with her entire life. it's not entertaining, it's just sad and sick that nobody is helping her.
122. skarlet - June 20, 2006 8:29 PM
hey #120... "She cleverly manipulated a lot of people into buying her albums." naive much?
what a lot of america doesnt realize is the simple fact that most of the female celebrity population are nothing more than clothes hangers. Britney did not manipulate anyone. her agents, production companies, publicity reps, and every other company who wanted to make some cash did the manipulation. same with Paris. these little girls are nothing more than pretty faces with a lot of business people behind them, and in return for selling countless products, starlets get fame.
what people are saying about how 'she wanted to be famous, she deserves what she gets' is totally ignorant. who here hasnt wanted to be famous at some point in their lives? who here hasnt contradicted themselves, made an ass of themselves, embarassed themselves, or made stupid fucking decisions?
i've never been a fan of Britney's, but she is human and i totally agree with the few on here who say the tabloids have gone too far. this is her first kid, people. she probably hasnt had much experience with them. that doesnt make her a bad mother at all. just an inexperienced one with really good intentions. the fact that she's famous doesnt mean she has to be perfect. give the girl a break... she went from being America's Sweetheart to The Girl We Love to Hate, and now she's being fed to the wolves. if she can make another album after this, i won't buy it and i won't listen to it if i can help it. but i'll be proud of her for getting back on her feet.

Although I must admit that I find Britney Spears to be both crude and down-right disgusting, I also must say that I pity her. I mean, look at her, people. It was all fun and games to crack on her when she was a superstar, but now it's just sad. I love to hate Britney as much as the next sane person, but come on, it's getting old as hell. Where is the excitement in making jokes about a self-proclaimed country hick who couldn't find her way out of a Cheeto bag, much less the right end of a cigarette?
Honestly, look at the woman! She looks like she was hit by a truck, which then reversed over her a few times for good measure. I won't ever mention that "man" she married and procreated with. I will say, though, that I feel terribly for her children and I feel that it is only right that Britney is allowed to have the chance to slink off into the shadows of C-list fame and never be heard from again.
But, alas, I fear that this day will never come if America continues to feed the fire enabling Britney to stay in the public eye. Wouldn't it just be wonderful to NOT have to hear about Britney's sad and disturbing life anymore? I certainly think so. And maybe if she fades into obscurity, America will be able to get rid of other such parasites living off the blood of society; i.e. Paris Hilton. Now isn't that a fantastic thought?

I have been eagar to watch this and maybe see a different side to what i had seen in the reality show. I felt sorry for her but more than that I feel embarassed for her. I feel like she has been in the spotlight long enough to know when she is giving fuel to the media but yet the adultress husband (to his last baby's mom), the poor hygeine, fashion sense and common sense, the very discomforting reality show and most of all this interview she is so not just making bad choices she is destroying what was once a very promising career. i have to agree with another person who commented saying she looked more mature back in her "not so innocent and hit me baby" days. and never once did she take ownership for her mothering mistakes - like putting the baby in the carseat wrong (like say oopps my bad - she just blames the media for taking acheap shot. Dr. phil is "country" and he will tell her that - better yet he needs to help her. i too am a young mother and i know it isnt easy but she has to have some self respect -especially when all eyes are on her!
128. azry - June 21, 2006 4:42 AM
