Mar 9 2006Lil' Kim gets ready for jail in new reality series
As far as reality shows go, the new six-part BET series "Lil' Kim: Countdown to Lockdown" should be pretty original. It follows the short-statured, high-expletive rapper in the two weeks right before she's locked away for lying to a grand jury.
The bad news: The cameras stop rolling once she gets inside the slammer, keeping the pillow fights, mud wrestling, and lesbionic activites of female prison out of American households. The good news: A kickin' hip-hop soundtrack that'll be bumpin' over shots of Lil' Kim crying.

Too bad... I was really looking forward to the rapper female version of OZ...

Reality watching someone get ready to go to jail? Whaaaaa?!?!? Most people just get hauled away by the cops. Watching "Cops" is probably far more interesting that this lame-ass concept of a show.
4. celeb_hater - March 9, 2006 7:35 PM
black people do care cuz it's a sistah being harassed by the man. i am sure jesse jackass will have prayer sessions with her but she'll be the only one on her knees

Why do we reward famous people for their actions against society by adding to their fame?
6. playahater101 - March 9, 2006 8:33 PM
So we don't get to see her without her nails and extensions? And we don't get to see her leaky implants? THAT'S reality!!!
7. HollyJ - March 9, 2006 8:37 PM
Have you ever seen the nasty troll women in prison?
The last thing I want chiselled into my memory is two huge, manly dykes in mullets doing each other like a pair of horny goats.
And she is DEFINITELY a horny goat.
8. xavierout - March 9, 2006 8:38 PM
She's Klassy with a capital K. Shouldn't the black community at least pretend to be offended by this glamorization of thuggery? She was involved in a goddamn shoot out and then lied to a grand jury about it. The stupid bitch should be rotting in prison for twenty years. It'd only take a year or two for the nasty element in the can to stop caring that she's famous. Fuck her.

I think her new show will have about as many viewers as there are posts on this story. Excluding myself of course. I'll be watching more important shows like American Idol and Top Model.
And Lil' Kim is probably some inmate's Lil' girlfriend right about now.

2 - Another OZ? God, haven't we all seen Chris Meloni's junk enough? I think even Paris Hilton asked him to tone it down.
Although I'd imagine Lil' Kim would be all over it faster than Britney pouncing on a cheeto caught between her sofa cushions.
11. Mr. Fritz - March 9, 2006 10:08 PM
She looks like a female inpersonator crossed with Rick James (bitch!). Nice reference to that show Oz. Did anyone notice that many of the characters from that show also appeared on Law and Order?

Oh wow, and BET goes to a new low...not only is it the most racist channel, deprived of anything entertaining, they are now gonna show a black woman before she goes to jail. As if the stereotype of blacks going jail wasn't enough, now they're going to present this as if it were a tv show...am I the only one sickened?
13. gogoboots - March 9, 2006 11:20 PM
Lil' Kim is too nasty, ick, I heard her boobs were leaking too. Of course, they'll have a TV reality show about her, it's all about presenting those great black stereotypes about "gangsta" rappers. to all the black people, TV is NOT your friend, no matter how much money they promise to you, it's not gonna do your rep any good.
14. Miss Skyline - March 10, 2006 12:37 AM
Lil' Kim is so fake that I'm sure her entire silicone and saline body will have the shit beat out of it in prison. I'm still trying to figure out who even cares that she's going to prison.
15. Evangelia - March 10, 2006 12:52 AM
i adore lil kim. she is one of the best lyricists ever - male or female. i'm serious. yes, crime is wrong. but it adds to her credibility as a rapper that she's getting locked up. if there's one thing that is truly ridiculous, it is rappers who consciously try to be ghetto when they grew up as sheltered rich kids (example: lil jon).
and lil kim deserves some credit for actually profiting on her prison time. i know everyone disagrees with me but fuck it. i'd watch the show.
16. DevastatorX - March 10, 2006 1:08 AM
Isn't america great? Only here can some worthless ghetto whore become more rich off breaking the law. And we as americans accept that.
She should be in Jail until the day her black ass dies for lying like that. People died and are unavenged because of her.
17. ning_ning - March 10, 2006 3:00 AM
She better lay low in jail cause if she doesn't give it up to big bertha and the crew. It's going be ugly....
18. Evangelia - March 10, 2006 4:40 AM
devastator - yup, america sho is great! my black ass sho love everythang america do fo me!
19. Pez_D_Spencer - March 10, 2006 5:14 AM
16 - don't forget how she got famous in the first place: by banging a fatass crack dealer.
Let's see: piggy-backed off of a rockslinger boyfriend - check.
Involved in a rap-related shooting incident - check.
Doing slamma-time - check.
It's a ghetto trifecta! Huzzahs are in order, people.
20. Fatty Boom-Batty - March 10, 2006 6:18 AM
Hmm, Imagine that...A black person involved in a violent crime and then lying to a Grand Jury. This has got to be a first...
21. fookmihada - March 10, 2006 6:26 AM
really now, lil kim going to jail? i bet its because shes black isnt it? i just guessed that shes black actually. i couldnt belive my eyes because she actually has a real name. kim? the parents didnt just make up a name with -sha or a bunch of q's in it? i mean, i was in the bar with a few of my homies terealio and quahisha and laquishanaicana when we discussed that lil kimberly was going to jail and exploiting it in something other than song. well good job kim. keep up hope that someday people will have to sacrifice making up names because they took them all. besides in this crazy world most rappers and hip hoppers need to make up a stage name because they dont fit in with the name Octavius. Or Chris. Viva la nombre!!!
22. mamacita - March 10, 2006 8:11 AM
Dang. Haven't you all heard the news? Lil' Kim isn't black anymore-check it out.

Ever since Biggie died nobody has given a shit about this skank. She has burned so many bridges in the rap industry this bitch is going to have a harder comeback than ALF (see http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120788/)
Lets hope Paris Hilton gets sentenced for perjury and end up as Lil' Kim's cellmate, perhaps a knicky hot new sex tape in the works?
24. frangly - March 10, 2006 12:21 PM
#12 you are so right. I'm not even black, and *I* am offended by glorifying her for going to prison.
25. Quiggie - March 10, 2006 12:29 PM
I saw some of the show last night. It actually was pretty interesting. It showed a side of lil' kim that I've never seen. She is actually a very down to earth person. You guys should really check out the show. You just might get hooked.
26. Pearly - March 10, 2006 12:44 PM
Bahaha Chris Melonis junk...that's good. I'm sick of him. I have to agree that glorifying this girls jail time is a pathetic excuse for a TV show. What isn't nowadays though..is it any worse than Celeb fit Club? I mean glorifying people who are gluttons is no heroic feat either. All in all..she's a loser.
27. MortyFishbein - March 10, 2006 1:45 PM
I like L'il Kim. She's so raw and out there. Slutty? A little? Crass? A little. But no more felonious than any individual in Hollywood.
And to comment on #8 (Xavierout), this is not glamorization of thuggery as it is commercialization of someone's life to turn a profit, you stupid bitch. This is a time in American pop culture where everything, from an appendectomy to a confrontation with a man that raped you is televised for all to see. And the whole world keeps right one watching and paying. She may have been involved in a shootout and lied about it but some of the secrets that Hollywood hides are far darker than that and infinitely more detrimental. And you don't know HALF of them.
Matthew Broderick gets drunk, drives and kills two people in Ireland in 1988. Don't really recall that, do you? Didn't hear much about it, did you? Well, all he got was fine.
Jeffrey Jones (best known as the principal from "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"), charged with doing things of a "sexual nature" with minor and possessing kiddie porn. What did he get? Probation.
So please don't talk about the "glamorization of thuggery." The only thing glamorized in Hollywood is money. And coke. And whores. Sometimes both at the same time. That is the requisite funny part.
28. LickyLicky - March 10, 2006 3:21 PM
I might be wrong, but I always thought that you couldn't profit from a crime. Like serial killers in jail don't get proceeds from book deals about the murders they committed.
Granted, this is not quite the same, but since she's going to jail only because she committed a crime, then shouldn't it qualify? I mean, if there is a law that prohibits profiting from a crime. I think any money she makes from her reality show should go towards the victims' families as reparations if her lies kept a criminal from receiving proper justice.
And I, too, believe that this will only glamourize the 'thug life' more than it already is, regardless of what HER actual intentions are, i.e., ju$t makin' a buck offa da publik.
29. Praz - March 10, 2006 5:36 PM
She was really quiet and soft-spoken during that one award ceremony where Aretha Franklin cupped her boob, yet she's really raunchy in all of her music; I always thought that someone else wrote her lyrics?
30. QOTD - March 10, 2006 10:35 PM
Keep that bitch where she is!!! She has no talent, no class & is disgusting... I am not black & I am ashamed for all the decent black women out there, cuz she's bringing them down.
31. pickletickle - March 10, 2006 11:10 PM
"for all the decent black people out there..."
You probably wouldn't say that about a white person.
Charlie Sheen gets arrested a few years ago for beating the shit out of a couple of prostitutes, and "I am shamed for all the decent" white guys out there, "cuz he's bringing them down,"
Fuck Lil' Kim, but one person does not represent an entire race or gender, and the fact that people seem to think this way is what leads to stereotypes of others.
As for the reality show bullshit, that's capitalism baby.
32. xavierout - March 11, 2006 1:25 AM
MortyFishbein,
I'm sure when you wrote that it seemed really profound and all and you just knew that it would put me right in my place. The problem is that it's completely incoherent. I'd love to disagree with you but you haven't said anything to disagree with. I read it twice and I still can't find the point. What are you talking about? Matthew Broderick's a bad driver or something...?
Anyway, write back soon and this time try putting words in an order so that other people who speak English can make sense of them. I am,
Forever your stupid bitch,
Xavierout
33. xavierout - March 11, 2006 1:29 AM
BTW, Praz that was NOT Aretha Franklin that felt up Lil Kim at the awards show. It was Diana Ross. Which is like confusing Miles Davis and Herb Albert. Diana Ross is cool and I love the Supremes but she ain't Aretha by a long shot.

34. sykotiq - March 13, 2006 12:44 PM
Hmm... this should be interesting. The inmates are going to love her! I'll bet they already have big plans for her. ;)
But I wonder if she'll continue to dress like a hooker whenever she gets out.
35. Moksha - March 14, 2006 12:56 PM
Lol @ celeb_hater - you folks had better stick together! I know all of you are pimps and hos and crackheads like kim!
