Feb 27 2006Vinnie Jones is the Juggernaut
For those of you who thought Vinnie Jones would make a bad Juggernaut, you were absolutely right. Unless you always envisioned Juggernaut catching a quick game of soccer before making his way to the local comic book convention. I mean that's what menacing super villains do all the time, right? Watch soccer? It's menacing!

How do you spell steroids? Vinnie Jones. He looks like an electrical probe has been thrust into his ass. Look at those eyes.
2. NewGuy - February 27, 2006 6:29 PM
They better use a crap-load of CGI...
Juggernaut is supposed to be one of the largest and strongest villians on Marvel earth...
I think I could take this guy with a can of Mace and a sharp #2 pencil...
This website sucks.

Marvel earth? Gogoboots? Yeah it's the site that sucks, not you. Just keep telling yourself that and everything will be okay.
7. Drew - February 27, 2006 6:56 PM
He's about a third the size of the comic book one.
8. Jonboy in SF - February 27, 2006 6:57 PM
Geez, you'd think even a superhero would clip his chest and body hair!
9. SMF121490 - February 27, 2006 7:01 PM
This whatever is not Juggernaut material. I am really not sure what this is. All I know is it is scary and ugly. And, it probably stinks.
10. ESQ - February 27, 2006 7:10 PM
Comment #1 - You took the words right out of my mouth...
'Roid Boy all the way...This guy looks like he has nothing else to do all day except to work out at Muscle Beach, pump cc's, and take it in the ass...what a life!
In response to comment #2 - LOVED what you said, "I think I could take this guy with a can of Mace and a sharp #2 pencil..."
11. Chris'sMom - February 27, 2006 7:33 PM
Hair is the devil. Rather than looking cool, he looks like a cheesey porn star. What has the world come to?
12. Grphdesi23 - February 27, 2006 7:34 PM
Who is this Juggernaut anyway?
13. uncommon_american - February 27, 2006 8:07 PM
I wish I were gay so I could be more repulsed by this photo. But there's only so much repulsion a straight man can muster.
14. billabong021 - February 27, 2006 8:25 PM
#12 - Juggernauts a villian from x-men comics.
15. HollyJ - February 27, 2006 9:12 PM
I don't know who Juggernaut is either, but he could be Juggernuts.
16. cibby - February 27, 2006 9:20 PM
There's an infamous Juggernaut dub:
http://www.fazed.org/video/embed/?id=63
But I don't think Vinnie captures it quite right.
How about that huge black guy from Friday? Zeus something?
17. Binky - February 27, 2006 9:44 PM
Never heard of this guy - sorry
But, by the way, you invaded Iraq...
18. Average - February 28, 2006 12:16 AM
Im thinking he might look more impressive standing next to all the other actors.
Especially considering majority of male actors are short as hell. Besides it is impossible to get someone that looks as big as Jugger.
Not to mention his forearms are subhuman!
Then again Ive never been a big Jugger fan so it doesnt matter much to me.
19. rachel - February 28, 2006 12:21 AM
I think he's been getting into Mariah Carey's ab makeup
http://www.thesuperficial.com/archives/2005/07/05/mariah_carey_dr.html
20. rds0811 - February 28, 2006 1:25 AM
a) I'm thinking most of that muscle is prosthetic/SFX/makeup (Whatever you'd like to call it). The forearms just look especially un-human
b) There is actually a pretty cool helmet assembly that rounds out the costume a bit better (although the whole costume is far different from the comics)
c) Maybe they will use some fancy camera tricks to make him look larger. (The same way they made the Hobbits look smaller in LOTR)
21. hafaball - February 28, 2006 1:56 AM
Yeah, I'm guessing that's some sort of body suit...the only problem is, IT'S NOT BIG ENOUGH! Plus, I don't remember the Jug being to hairy..hehe
22. rds0811 - February 28, 2006 2:01 AM
Ahh yes, it IS in fact a full body suit:
http://www.t-nation.com/readTopic.do?id=923287
A lot of people are complaining that Vinnie isn't bulky enough for the part...but I like Vinnie's acting style and I think he can give Juggernaut a cool persona we just have to compromise on the size. Again, though I feel like they will probably use camera tricks and SFX to make him look bigger and give him the right presence on film.
23. gogoboots - February 28, 2006 2:02 AM
hugh jorgan the third isnt a handle that sucks? come on gogoboots, isnt my real name, remember?...yes this site still sucks despite the fact my handle is what it is...
24. DiamondStudded - February 28, 2006 2:02 AM
Who is this man??
25. gogoboots - February 28, 2006 2:04 AM
actually the juggernaut for reals is way bigger than this...which is a real letdown for the third xmen movie...
26. Child Prodigy - February 28, 2006 2:11 AM
hmmm - looks like he would be more at home in a german pawn - although he might also be more at home wearing the french maid outfit and getting spanked with a feather duster
27. Child Prodigy - February 28, 2006 2:12 AM
porn I mean
28. sqongo - February 28, 2006 3:08 AM
The reason he's watching football is because he used to be a footballer!
29. sqongo - February 28, 2006 3:09 AM

30. TaiTai - February 28, 2006 3:43 AM
Never heard of a Vinnie Jones or a Juggernaut. Couldn't be any further away from interesting.
31. lastangelman - February 28, 2006 4:37 AM
Don't know either, don't care a whit, he's a fag in a Halloween dress up who needs a serious body waxing. Now where's my BJ, Pamela? Ah, that's better ...

Inspiration, perhaps? http://www.fantascienza.com/cinema/zardoz/media/zed.jpg
34. Lampro - February 28, 2006 7:36 AM
It's a motion picture adaptation. Adaptation being the operative word. Of course it won't or can't be just like the comics. Sure CGI makes a lot of things possible but I think the less CGI the better (Case in point the latest batch of star wars movies). CGI can't always make up for screen presence. And if anyone has watched alot any of Vinnie Jone's movies you can't deny that the man is a great presence on screen. He may not be the best actor but he's leagues better then the guy they cast as Sabertooth. Chances are the Jugger character will end up just like Sabertooh and be a show piece and meatshield.
35. DonLes91 - February 28, 2006 8:50 AM
Hey, if they can make Aussie Eric Bana (aka Hulk) look like he weighs 1,500 lbs., I'm not worried about this guy. I'm sure this is the "BEFORE" shot. Hopefully they'll edit out the soccer.

40. Fatty Boom-Batty - February 28, 2006 9:45 AM

42. Gerald Tarrant - February 28, 2006 10:56 AM
Quit bitching, no one would have satisfied people.
Oh wait, why didn't we get the real Juggernaut to play himself. Afterall, he's the only one who is 8ft tall and weighs in at around a ton. Give me break. I may go to the official web site to listen to bigger comic book nerds complain.
43. Baroness - February 28, 2006 10:59 AM
A little over an hour later, and I'd still hit it.
Or, let it hit me, maybe. Uh..

Hey, Dominic Purcell called and he wants his two-foot wide face back:

45. frangly - February 28, 2006 11:22 AM
I normally love me some chest hair on a guy. But here--not working. I keep worrying the hair's going to get tangled in the the leather strappy thing and he'll be all "ow ow OW" and that will totally blow his toughness cred.
46. senin - February 28, 2006 12:07 PM
He looks like he should be strapped to Barbara Asher's wheel. What's up with the belly hair - yuk - wax it...
47. Jayne - February 28, 2006 3:15 PM
[jumps up and down]
This movie is gonna SUUUUUUUUCK!
More than Superman?
Can't say :(
48. stevie511 - February 28, 2006 5:45 PM
Does anyone else think he's one ugly mother-f*cker? Bring me a bucket.
49. Praz - February 28, 2006 6:18 PM
This guy was Sphinx in "Gone in 60 Seconds."
Anyways, this is no more disappointing than Sabretooth was in the original X-Men movie. Remember how scrawny that guy was? And the actor was some random unknown. I guess the X-Men series is simply incapable of doing the larger characters well. Good thing Apocalypse was never a villain.
