Lohan Starring in John Lennon Film

Lindsay_thumb1.jpgI actually postponed posting about this, hoping it was a joke, or a typo, or that Superman would fly around the world and reverse time so that I could forget I ever heard it. But no, Lindsay Lohan is set to star opposite Jared Leto in Chapter 27, an indie film about the murder of John Lennon. Lohan will play a devoted fan of the former Beatle who befriends Lennon's killer, Mark David Chapman, shortly before the 1980 murder in New York.

I suppose Lindsay thinks she's got a better shot at earning some actor cred with this movie after somehow being ignored for her stirring work in Herbie: Fully Loaded. But, if I recall correctly, the main reason Mark David Chapman killed John Lennon was to become famous. Therefore I'm not sure basing an entire freaking movie on the guy is the best way to honor Lennon's memory. Hell, why not invite Chapman to the premiere and have him re-enact the whole thing? Have Lindsay make a music video with him called "Yoko's Next." Enough, I think I'm going to cry.

I concurr!!!!!!!!! The idea of this movie greatly dissapoints me. I believe any true Lennon fan would agree that making a movie about Mark David Chapman is giving him exactly what he hoped to derive through Lennons murder. He wanted fame. We are giving it to him. We are reinforcing his theory that through the death of Lennon, his name would live on. What better compliment than to have his murder re-created for all the world to see? Secondly, Lohan is the musical and intellectual opposite of Lennon. He epitomized truth, origionality,& love. Talent dripped from his soul, quenching the thirst of the hearts of millions. Although as far as I've read Lohan is not preforming in this movie (please, oh please!), I find it a great oxymoron that she would be in a movie with even the mere mention of Lennons name. She seems to stand for all the things he couldn't tolerate. I couldn't imagine it being cast more poorly.

People, people, you seem to forget that deep thought and originality is out, gone kaput. Hollywood is so desperate for movie fodder, since there are only so many remakes you can make, y'know? Oh, and Jaret Leto gets to do a Christian Bale-style morph, only as a FAT man. (Check out The Machinist) Jared, you are NO Christian Bale. And Lindsay Lohan, oh, Lindsay, there is an expression in the Mafia called "Making your bones" not becomg a bone. You have not made any bones, girl. It's true wjat is being said; there are too many young inexperience actresses being cast into heavy roles they are not ready to play. Lastly, yes we DO NOT need to see a movie about the chazzer that killed Lennon. Everytime I walk past the Dakota building, something tugs at my gut.
